Katniss Everdeen is one of the most empathetic and emotional characters in modern media but some of y’all seem to forget that

And speaking of father's day, a reminder that "Peeta wanted them so badly" does not equal "he pressured Katniss" or that "he was constantly asking Katniss for a baby" or that Katniss didn't want them. He just wanted them and there's nothing wrong with that.

(Also, Katniss has a habit of reflecting her own secret wishes on other characters, see the moment after the beach kiss when she sees the dream about Peeta's children and decides there and then Peeta must have them, even though Peeta had never expressed such wishes)

as a kid, I always felt cheated by the madge erasure in the movie. I thought it was so kind for madge to gift her friend a pin from her aunt.

It’s so selfless. on one hand, she wanted keep a family heirloom, maybe one of the few things her aunt still has. on the other hand, she wanted her closest friend to have something that reminded her of home even more.

in the book, it’s madge’s aunt’s, maysilee donner’s, pin. crafted from the hands of tam amber and tucked away for years. only for it to come back to its rightful owners hands again. from seam and covey to merchant, back to seam again.

in the movies, prim gives her the pin. it erases all the history and all of the tragedy that followed that pin. if they only knew what that pin has seen..
