 Henry was glad him and April were so close and he loved telling people his dreams. He looked at her and said “OK April I will sure inform Teddy about naming our child April. when we have a child, which I don’t know when that will be but when it happens I would like you to be one of the godparents. When you have a child I will buy it a yo-yo.” Henry smiled but wasn’t feeling the greatest and wanted to go home. Then thought that if he had to wait for Teddy glad he was waiting with April and laid his head down on the table.

April's eyebrows rose when she listened to Henry speak. "Godmother too. Well, you do owe me," she teased. "Seriously, though. I am honored. Really. And I think I'm good choice. Responsible, organized...my nephew thinks I am pretty cool." Well, he seemed to anyway, when she'd sat with him at the kiddie table last Thanksgiving. April being the only still unmarried person in her family, always had to sit at the children's table. At any rate April really did love kids. Someday she hoped she'd have one. Though with the state of her love life, April thought it was probably unlikely. She chucked at Henry's declaration about giving her child a yoyo, "Well, I wouldn't hold your breath on that. You kind of need a guy to do that...but I appreciate the sentiment Henry, really."

Henry smiled at April blushing and that she was so worried about him. Henry liked April and was happy they were getting close, He knew she cared And it gave him some one to talk to while waiting on Teddy. Henry laughed when April started pointing her fork at him and she said that he was unconscious when she brought his yoyo. Henry looked at April as she started frown “are you Frowning because you realized that you have no clue where my yoyo is” he joked. Then when April mentioned his Dream he said “Well it started that me and Teddy had this little girl and she was beautiful, this girl looked just like Teddy she was beautiful. She was our daughter and named April and that was when I started to come to. I know its weird but I thought I should tell you about it.”

April listened intently as Henry explained about his dream. Wow. She usually dreamed about stupid stuff. Mostly anxious fears about forgetting her work, or being embarrassed and stuff. Or she didn't remember her dreams. It must be nice to not only remember when you woke up, but also to have such an idyllic dream as Henry's.

When she heard about what  Henry had called his dream daughter, April blinked and looked up. "Uh, you dreamed you named your kid after me? That's...nice. I never thought...well, I mean I know it's not real or anything, but thanks." Henry was a sweet sort of guy, and it even seemed like his subconscious was grateful to her for donating to him. So grateful he named his dreamkid after her. It made her feel evenmore certain that she'd made the right decision. "And, uh, if you did ever have a baby and name it after me, it'd be okay, I guess. I mean, I hated my name when I was in school and stuff. But it grows on you."

Henry sit down across from April still a little sore and could April was still sore too. Henry didn’t know how Teddy would be but Henry looked at April and smiled. Henry said “April how are you doing and I thank you for this. I would have never ask you for this but I had no say in this. And April how do you get yoyo and liver mixed up. But I do thank you, it is greatly apreciated.” Henry watched April eat in pain and said “is this your first day back and I never forgot about Yoyo.” Henry sat there silently for a few minutes and then remembered the dream he had under anesthesia and he said “April I haven’t talked to you since the surgery and I had this dream when I was under and thought I should tell you.” Henry looked at April and waited for her to say something and hoping she didn’t think bring that up was weird.

April blushed and ducked her head, as Henry thanked her. She shrugged modestly, "I'm doing fine. Thank you. Still a bit sore, but I imagine you know exactly how that feels. I am on light duties until next week. And Henry. It's not like I did anything really special."I mean, you were going to die without the operation, and I was the match. I'm not the kind of person who would stand by and let that happen, when I can help."

April laughed as Henry mentioned the yoyo. It was kind of like a running gag between them now. "For the record," she said holding up her fork and gesturing in his direction. "I found you a yoyo, that day. You were just unconscious by the time   I brought it." Her smile faded as she remembered just how quickly his condition had deteriorated. Henry had looked so ill, and Teddy had been distraught. How could April not be willing to help. She looked up, interest piqued as Henry mentioned a dream. After surgery, in her own recovery, April had had some strange dreams of her own. "It's okay, you can tell me."

Henry loved having his wife home taking care of him but he knew it would end way to soon. Teddy would have to go back to work and being home alone for henry except for the days he goes to the hospital for an appointment. But while it lasted it was wonderful and today he had an appointment with...

April sighed as she sat staring glumly at her lunch. Today was her first day back working after giving part of her liver to Henry Burton. She'd only returned to light duties so far. It had been the right decision to make. She would make it all over again, if given the choice. However, it did mean that now she was still a little queasy from her surgery, and she now had a scar. 

Seeing Teddy and Henry's reaction to his getting a new liver while gratifying, was also a little eye opening. April still felt lonely since her recent break-up and now she knew that someday she wanted to have what the Burton's had. She planned to do it. Somehow she'd find the right guy. Taking another cautious bite of her sandwich and winching slightly, April glanced up to see Henry himself headed her way. When he asked to join, she smiled and answered, "Sure."

When April tells her again, she was match and that she would give half of her liver to Henry, Teddy didn’t believe it. She was surprised that April has so much struggled to her husband, all she had done: ask people who knew him, organizing tests … But when she took the paper in her hands and read what was written, she realized that she was not dreaming and that April was really match. Tears of joy streamed down on face of Teddy because she realized that there was still a chance that he live. She went to April and took her in her arms, kept saying “Thank you, thank you, thank you …”. When the hugs were finished, Teddy went to get Bailey to announce the news, with stars in her eyes. Because before putting April in a bed and take her liver, we still had to know if Henry can be open. His condition had deteriorated sharply, and even if he needed this to live, no one knew if he could endure anesthesia.

The three women in the hall, April asked anxiously what would happen now. Teddy decided to reply: “Well … First of all, we will see if Henry can have the surgery, after we will still see if your levels of antibodies to both of you is low and all normals examinations pre-op’.” Teddy was grateful for the act of Amelie, but she felt uncomfortable … She did not want her to feel obligated, or regret it later. She is still young, maybe Henry could wait a little longer but this is the problem Henry couldn’t, he needed one right now but … she doesn’t expect that will be one of her colleagues. She asked her again if she was sure. “But you know, you don’t have to do this… It’s not a simple surgery… Are you really sure that’s what you want to do ?”

April felt slightly overwhelmed by Teddy's obvious gradtitude, but she could empathize with how it must feel to see someone you loved so sick. She could imagine worrying about them, only to find out that they could be saved. It had to be overwhelming. Glancing back at Henry as Dr. Bailey and Altman spoke, April frowned. He looked so sick.

Then again, it was a danger on April's own part. Any surgery, even the most simple had some potential to go wrong. And she was usually a risk adverse sort of person. Upon Teddy's explanation, and questioning, April paused. Did she really want to do it? She thought it really wasn't a matter of wanting to do it or not. To April it seemed like the right thing to do. Why should she prevent Henry from having the one thing that could save him? Why make him wait for who knows how long on the donor list? People died waiting on donor list. Plus, April was young and healthy. She figured she'd have a reasonably easy recovery. "I'll do it. I'm sure. I couldn't not do it now that I know I am a match anyway. Too much guilt. Let's go. Do the tests and pre-ops and stuff. The longer we wait the weaker he will be right?"

Teddy looked at her husband, full of despair. She was not a pessimist by nature but Henry was everything to her and just the thought of losing him was unbearable.

When she felt someone was approaching she thought it was another of those people who come say they are sorry and they support you but suddenly, she heard April say she was match. She did not even notice when she realized what she meant and she saw the paper she held out. She turned and saw a smile on the resident’s lips, and she kept saying she was match. She swallowed her saliva and asked for an explanation: “Wait, what? How? You are match?” We could see in her eyes a gleam and now she was smiling. After recent events, this announces was the best thing she heard in this day.

Now that all of the attention was focused on her April felt a little uncomfortable. She shifted and handed over the ab work then Dr. Bailey demanded it. "I saw Henry earlier and he said that they hadn't found any matches on the donor list. So, I uh, asked around. You know to see if there were any residents here on staff who know Henry and might be willing to get tested." Sh shrugged. "Thought on the off chance that there might be a match. And there is. It's me."

Squaring her shoulders she turned to Teddy, reassuring, "And I'll do it. I'll donate part of liver." The question now was whether Henry was strong enough to handle surgery, and whether or not he'd reject the donated organ. April was ready to do what she had to though. Henry was a good person, and she was willing to help him live. Looking back and forth between Dr. Bailey and Teddy she asked, "So, what happens now?"

She was shaken by nurses and then by Webber that come. Bailey was already practicing CPR but Henry’s heart stopped beating for almost 2 min. When Webber shocked Henry, Teddy could no longer contain her tears. At each shock, she felt like the stab to the heart. After seconds that seemed hours to Teddy, Henry’s heart began to beat. Teddy threw a sigh of relief, and wiped her tears. Although the heart of Henry was beating again, Bailey and Webber have left Henry unconscious : his body -without a liver that works- is too low for that he can stay awake. 

Bailey commanded various test and left. Teddy, sat next to her husband and was holding his hand. She was so scared, she wouldn’t leave him alone again. She laid her head against the edge of the bed, praying that they found him a new liver. She thought back to when he asked her to marry him. They both knew, in the name of the law, they were married from the beginning but he wanted more, he wanted a party that would prepared for months, and hours a night they’ll remember their whole life, he wanted pronounce his vows to tell her how much he loved her and he wanted to say this in front of everyone. But a moment she wondered if he would be there. If he will be alive … If they did not find a liver, it has only months to live and like he is now, She’s not even sure he could live a week more. She raised her head and looked at him. A tube in the throat and connected to lots of machines, he was still the best to her. She ran her hand through her hair and she said that was perhaps the last time she does.

April Kepner had had a rather long and busy shift. It was the end of the day, and she'd visited all of er patients. The only thing she had left to do was check some labs she'd run earlier in the day. It was part of a match test she'd organized among willing residents and attendings for Henry Burton. He needed a new liver, and so far no one on the transplant list was a match. April knew he was deteriorateing, so testing people at the hospital who were friends with Teddy and Henry made sense.

Reaching the lab, she began to read through the results, frowning as she went. Callie wasn't a match. Neither was Cristina. Or Owen. On and on the list. No match, no match, no match. Until...there! A match. April blinked as she read who the liver match for Henry was. Figures. It was her. For a split second April considered the situation. Henry needed a new liver to live. Even if the surgery was a risk for both of them, he had infinitely more at stake than April. What did she have? Some minor surgical risks and a scar? It was a no brainer.

She hurried to tell Dr. Bailey her findings only to be told that the older attending was already in Henry's room. April hurried to the door and watched as the doctors worked on him. His vitals were deteriorating. Teddy sat sadly by his side watching him, holding his hand. April immediately felt like a bit of an intruder on such a private and desperate moment. Clearing her throat and brandishing her test results in one hand, April said, "I found a liver match for Henry. I found a match and...um, it's me. I'm a match."

I don’t know, talk to Bri. She was the one who said adoption is expensive in Canada and she was like yeah, you basically buy a kid. 

So now, I’m kinda scared.

Huh. Crazy. But I know that adoption in general can be really pricey, no matter what country you are in, so I imagine that Canada is no different. Depends on the type of adoption too I suppose, as well as what country.

April hunched her shoulders a little when she detected a hint of disbelief in Meredith’s voice about telling Erik about her status. “It’s totally unbelievable right? I mean, I didn’t exactly tell him right away, so when I told him I was afraid he’d… leave or something. He...

April looked back up at Meredith's face frown as she continued to talk, realizing that she'd done it again. She'd preemptively apologized, without even being certain that it was necessary. "I..." she stumbled, shaking her head. "I'm just not sure you want to hear about my...I mean.We hardly ever talk and now...We're basically talking about.." April trailed off gesturing with her hands vaguely and dropping to a whisper, "sex." Flushing April looked down at her hands, feeling like she'd inevitablly made things more awkward. She'd never been good at talking about sex, though, and she'd always been awkward, so no big surprise. 

April nodded and felt relatively heartened to listen to Meredith speak about about herself and Derek. Maybe their road to each other and their own happily ever after hadn't been as easy or simple as April had imagined. Thinking back, April realized that she did have a hint about the not so easy path to togetherness that Meredith and Derek had. In the shock and tragedy of the shooting, she'd sat on a scrub room floor with Meredith once. April had been in shock and deeply sad about Reed so she hadn't paid too much attention. But the other doctor had said some things then that made April curious now. Before she could stop herself, April asked, "You said...I remember you said, it took you a long time to find Derek. A long time to know...that you wanted him...what...what did you mean?" 

April worried a little that she might have crossed a line. She always felt a little tentative with Meredith in their quasi friendship. She was actually sure that if the shooting had never happened, they would never have lived with each other, or have gotten closer. Especially given an inappropriate crush April had once harbored for Derek. She was actually really surprised to hear that Meredith wanted to do a dinner or something with her. Like a double date sort of thing. She'd never done a double date! Ever. She'd never had anyone to go with. She resisted the urge to text her sister, right then and there.

Trying to hide her internal delight, April grinned, "Great. Great. That will be fun. Awesome." She sniffed, still probably way to excited about this than she should be. It was just another new thing that April had never had the chance to do because she'd never really been in a relationship. To other people, little things like double dating didn't seem like a huge deal, but to April it was a milestone. Looked across the table to Meredith and smiled, happy to be hanging out with her, and waited to see what would happen next.

 Henry smiled at the thought of April big family and made him think of Teddy. She was really all the family he had besides the doctors here at Seattle Grace Mercy West. He said ” April I know that all the doctors here are my family but I could never ask them to get tested for me.” Even though he knew that some of the them would. Henry didn’t know why April had came to see him but he was glad She had because it gave him some one to talk to. THen Henry said to April ” I really hope you pass your fifth year boards and sorry you got dumped.”

April smiled and said "I wouldn't be surprised if other people will want to get tested too. I know I will. We like you Henry!" She appreciated his support and sympathy for her own life. "Thank you. I'm trying not to think about it. I am sure it'll work out." She checked her watch and realized that she didn't have too much time left to spend with Henry. She had to get back to work. "Uh,, I have to finish up my rounds, but I promise to check in on you, alright? And I will track down a yoyo for you."

 Henry could see that April wasn’t happy about Teddy getting tested, so he made sure April knew he didn’t her to that it was Teddy’s Idea and said “No April I dont have any family that would and I know I have to have hope right.” Then Henry said ” I have told you all about my Problems, How have you been.” Henry smiled at April knowing she would be happy for someone to ask how she was because no one ever did.

April was saddened to hear that Henry had no other family. She knew how important  her own, large, and slightly dysfunctional farm family was to her. Not just emotionally either. April knew that she had plenty of siblings and relatives to test if she needed an organ. To be alone was so sad. But, she reminded herself, Henry wasn't alone. He had Teddy and their dream for the future. He also had the rest of the doctors here at Seattle Grace. "Hmm, well maybe I can organize for a bunch of us doctors to get tested. Just to see."

She smiled, flattered and surprised that Henry had asked about her own life. The problems she had seemed to small in comparison to facing a liver transplant. But maybe he just wanted to talk, in the absence of a yoyo. "Me? Well, not so much anymore. Just working and trying to get ready for my 5th year boards. I...kind of got dumped, I think," she admitted sadly. "But I guess if it wasn't meant to be..." She shrugged.
