Final CCDN Project 3 Critical Selfie
142 project three animation description
My animation is all based around the feeling of calmness and nature. When I read the poem all I got was lovely warm feeling of being outside lying on the grass and looking up at the day going buy. I feel I portrayed this very well by creating an abstracted sun which was made up of all my patterns. Each pattern all had a single significance to the poem which gives it this hidden meaning which I find to be really special. The colours I chose to go with my animation were all warm natural colour which helped keep the feeling of serenity that I wanted the audience to experience. Although the poem is all about grass the meaning I took out of it was about how you over look so many of the small things in life. This poem really showed the significance of a little thing that is grass. It engaged my emotions and made me feel appreciative and happy. And that is the same feeling I want my animation to give. The clip quickly shows the cycle of a day and ends nicely with the dew drips that slowly fade out into darkness. The dew was a small connection toward the grass its self. It implies that you have been lying on the grass watching the day pass by and when the dew makes the earth yet the day comes to end.. This relating to also the ending of the animation. I am very happy with how it all turned out. The only thing I would change would be maybe cutting some parts out as the small timeframe we were given forced me to cram a lot of animation into a small space. Otherwise I feel my project achieves what I aimed to do!
another trial leading up to the final that is a bit jumbely and messy as is.
My final Emily Dickinson poem animation, I am really happy with how it has all turned out and have really valued all the new skills i have learnt thoughout the entire semester in this paper. Above is my final description of the animation. To explain the meaning behind everything in the animation
This is my first attempt at my 15 sec clip.. while i like it i feel it rushes through things too fast so i will add extra things and slow everything down abit perhaps
final 104 presentation poster
last foam iterations leading up to my final model
a selection of my final models, showing the space that the hand goes into and the mysterious feeling it gives off.. it looks interesting and playful and you just want to put your hand inside it!
final solidworks models
final sketches and rough sectioncuts
trying to achieve it with section cuts instead, i think this will work a lot better but this is rather different to my model ideas so i will have to think more into the curves etc
solid works attempt, bit of a fail so far, need to cut at it a lot mire!
more iterations, getting closer to the final model now, slowly becoming more happy with the shapes i am producing
here are some of my foam iterations, there are all mainly focusing on the main structure of the model or the focal grabbing point,
looking at how each object fits around the hand and how the use will know where to hold the model
my favorite clay model, this what i will try and bring into my foam
