@apxtaehyun-blog
* surrounded; halla + taehyun
One would think that after so many years of this kind of treatment, one would be used to it, the grabbing and shouting and crowding that went on around her in public. Perhaps when she was younger, she had a higher tolerance for it. Perhaps she had even liked it, finally getting the attention that she could never muster from her parents. But after the accident, she found that she couldnât stand having so many people around her.
She was so distressed about her situation that she didnât even notice someone pulling her by the waist and leading her away from the huge crowd. Halla found herself within the cool, air conditioned building of a cafe, and used the moment to catch her breath, then look up at her savior.
It was Taehyun, a fellow trainee that she, to be honest, didnât exactly know very well. She knew that some of the members were very close with him, but she had never had as much interaction with the Khaos member.
Even so, she was glad that he had pulled her out of that mob.
After her heart rate returned to normal and she was reassured that they were safe for the time being, she looked up at him. âThank you. The fans can be a bitâŠmuch sometimes.â
After Taehyun had gotten her safe, he realized he might have not thought the hole plan though. He was glad he managed to get her out of the situation, but one problem remained, that being the awkwardness between the two in the tight space. He didnât know exactly how she might be feeling so he couldnât help her with that, but he could give her the comfort of company so she could rest for a moment to recover from the terror she faced before.Â
âI noticed. Are you Halla, then? Weâve never met but Iâm in Apollo as well. Nice to meet youâ. He couldn't reach out a hand in the tight space that they were in, but even if he could, he wouldnât. Taehyun was probably the worst person in the world with new people. He would struggle to make new friends if he actually cared about it, but he didnât, so it did not bother him at all. Unfortunately for him, he had the combination of two very unfortunate characteristics; he had both a horrible first impression and a great deal of not caring about meeting new people, which therefore resulted on the zero effort he was making to give Halla a reason to like him.Â
He hadnât saved her for the glory of it, but for the meaning to do good. Despite what his reputation said about him, Taehyun was ultimately a good man, although most people usually never find out. His habit (although it was more of an impulse than a habit) of shutting people out from the very beginning and not making any efforts to leave a good impression on people really didnât give him any hopes of friendship when he met someone, so he really didnât expect Halla to extend this conversation for longer than absolute necessary, as was usual for everyone else.

the action of working with someone to produce or create something. âhe wrote on art and architecture in collaboration with John Betjemanâ
Soojungâs schedule had just finished for the day. After a lengthy vocal class, her throat felt a little achy, but her vocals felt well stretched and even more well tuned. However, instead of going to her dorm for a good nightâs rest, she checked her phone and smiled when she saw a message from Taehyun, reminding her theyâd said theyâd hang out today. Soojung hurried to the usual place they met up at, a (usually) empty studio room that they had been using back when they first started remaking songs together.Â
Upon entering the room, Soojung took note of its lack of inhabitants and got herself comfortable, setting her messenger bag down and pulling her phone out from her pocket. She scrolled through messages, half a mind to text Taehyun to make sure he didnât forget they were meeting up, but she was rather enjoying the silence the empty studio brought her. She plopped down in a vacant chair and leaned back. Her eyes fluttered shut, and for a few moments she just sat there and let herself rest, having not realized how drained she was from her prior lessons. The thought of sitting here and taking a nap was all so appealing, but she heard the light steps of someone approaching and sat up, opened eyes and clearing her throat so she wouldnât sound so groggy.Â
âNam Taehyun.â She began as he entered the room. She shook her head and sighed heavily. âAbout time you came in here.â Soojung broke and cracked a smile by the end of her sentence.Â
apxtaehyun
It was already Taehyunâs third mean comment in a day. Sure, he was rude, but this was beyond him. His sassy-ness was overboard and even he thought it was too much. The past two weeks had been though, he was working harder than ever and his mood was directly affected. He was ingesting so much caffeine that he wondered if there was a possibility of overdosing on it. But the physical effects were something he could handle, the mental, however, was the unbearable. He felt like he was holding onto so many ideas at once, his head could blow up. He felt mentally tired and it seemed like nothing he could do would make it better. Even if stubborn, Taehyun had to admit he was reaching a point where he had to rest for his own creativityâs sake, if not his own.Â
He did what he had to do, something he hadnât done in a while and he missed it; he texted Soojung to see if she was up for hanging out. Their meetings gave him such peace of spirit, it was the only thing that he could dream of in this state of his. He told her to meet him at eight oâclock on their usual spot, which was an empty studio that probably was never used by anyone else due to itâs bad conditions. Even if he had marked the time himself, he got there late. He had a lot of things that he needed to take care of, things that seemed like they would never end. Walking into the room, he put down his backpack full of stuff in a corner and jumped on top of Soojung, who had just greeted him, se he could wake her up.
âWake up. Wake up so we can relax. I know Iâm late, Iâm sorry, but now itâs time to wake upâ, he said, pulling her arms so she could stand.

{ apxtaehyun }
Jeongguk crept up the corridor towards the elevator â his eyes tired, bangs damp. It was a warm Friday night, he let out a sudden yawn as he slapped the elevatorâs buttons, not even caring what buttonâs were pressed or where they took him. He hadnât been in the dance studios surprisingly, but rather wandering around aimlessly. Jeongguk had managed to get a hold of some decent kimbap, and after downing a whole coffee, he was up and off. Yet, that didnât change the fact that he was drained. Be it from stress or lack of sleep, but then again, the maknae couldnât catch a wink of sleep, even if he wanted to. Maybe Jeongguk would attempt to make up for it next Monday during his practice test on History, then heâd probably get beaten with a hard-cover book, and he wasnât exactly down for that. He leant against the wall, outside of the elevator, waiting for it to approach the ground floor. However, Jeongguk, being completely out of it, hadnât noticed the the elevator was currently in repair. A large sign with Do Not Use! Repairs are currently in the works! in large lettering, even in English for all those non-Korean speakers, not that there was many around. Jeongguk basically fell into the empty elevator, leaning against the cool metal sides, burning his skin through the thin white t-shirt he wore. His arms were folded tightly across his broad chest, watching as the doors closed. Yet, they closed and up he went â yet he didnât expect heâd be then accompanied, noticing that a rather scary presence stood on the second floor. Oh crap, itâs Nam Taehyun.Â
Taehyun was preparing himself for a long night. Since it was friday, most KHAOS members went to visit their families, leaving Taehyun alone in the dorm. With no one there to complain about him not taking care of himself and coming home too late, he took the opportunity to do all those things. âAhh, sweet free time. How come I, a grown man, canât enjoy this more often? Aishh, my members are really... â. Those being the thoughts he had while getting ready, he left the Eros dormitories a while later with the usual tired look on his face. His messy hair covered with a hood, his tired eyes slightly more alive and his posture confident and slightly arrogant. He walked out into the cold and made his way to the Apollo building where he was planning to practice his choreography.
It didnât take him long to get there, and the familiar path didnât bring any news to Taehyun. He stood on the reception for a while before being joined by a familiar face, to which he asked for the keys to the dance room. He didnât need to book it since he knew no one was going to be there this late, so he just took the keys and went, thanking the receptionist. He walked right past the warning signs on the door of the elevator, and pressed the fifth floor right away. He leaned on the mirror coolly and waited. The elevator stopped stopped and the lights blinked, and for a second Taehyun thought he was in trouble, but it soon started to move again. With a sigh of relief and his muscles relaxing, he once again leaned on the full-mirror wall, but still with his eyes attentive were the elevator start to fail again. On the second floor, the doors opened. From there, entered the elevator a well-known trainee of Apollo, CROSSEâs Jeon Jungkook. The leader hadnât had the change to speak properly with the maknae, but he knew that if he himself wasnât Ashton Parkâs favorite, it was definitely Kook. Unsure how to greet the younger boy, he waited for him to take the lead in the interaction. Why in hell was he put in such an awkward situation? He just wanted to get out of it fast.
â âLostâ feat. Eunae & Taehyun
It had already been about half a year since Eunae had joined Apollo yet she still had problems with navigating around the company, even though she should already know her way around by now without any problems. She didnât fully understand herself why she still got lost because she wasnât really bad with memorizing things, in fact she was able to memorize everything after only seeing it once or twice, however for some odd reason she still couldnât find certain places in the company. It wasnât only frustrating for her but also for some of the other people who constantly had to watch her roaming around, going back and forth as she tried to find where she needed to go, and she honestly felt apologetic towards them.
When she had first arrived at the company in the beginning she had even made herself a map of the whole building, labeling every room that there was, but she ended up losing the map somewhere between then and now so she could only depend on herself and occasionally the help of others to get where she needed to go. Even now as she made her way back down the same hall, for what seemed to be the millionth time that day, she thought about how she really needed to draw up another map for herself. However at the same time she thought about how she didnât really want to depend on a hand drawn map and how she wanted to figure everything out on her own.
She let out a heavy sigh as she stopped, running her fingers through her blonde hair out of frustration, her other hand resting on her hip as she glanced back and forth down the hall again. Eunae really didnât want to bother anyone but she knew that if she didnât then she would continue to pace around and end up being late so she decided to stop the next person she saw and ask them for help. That person ended up being a male that she had seen a few times in the company during her time there, not really knowing much about him besides the fact that he was in Khaos and that he was their leader, other than that she couldnât exactly remember his name or even how old he was. Inhaling then exhaling she chewed on her bottom lip for a moment before finally approaching the male with a smile on her face. Eunae bowed politely to the male as she greeted him. âHello, Iâm sorry to bother you but I was wondering if you could help me?â She questioned. âIâve actually been training here since the beginning of the year but I still kind of get lost so I was wondering, if youâre not too busy, if you could possibly help me get to the cafeteria?â Her voice and expression both showed that she was apologetic for bothering him and also hopeful that he would actually help her.
Wondering around Apollo, Taehyun had his earphones on and was looking for inspiration. It wasnât a situation that occurred often, but sometimes he hit a dry period and was forced to seek out help. Of course, that help didnât come from actual people, he had too much pride for that, he didnât need people. Therefore, his alternative was to walk around Apollo. He could walk anywhere, really, but there was so park nearby and he didnât know anywhere else as well as he knew Apollo, so the best alternative was really just to stay inside. He walked the corridors that had the most light, so the sun could warm his pale skin. He knew the building so well he walked with his eyes closed. The frustration he was feeling was slowly fading away. His train of thought was beginning, he could feel inspiration hit. He started to lightly tap his fingers in the rhythm of the beat in the side of his thigh, and he took of his earphones so he could listen to his own thoughts better. He was so focused, if he hit a wall he wouldnât feel it. It was nothing clear, but there was definitely something in the back of his head that was working itâs way toward Taehyunâs consciousness.
It was then he lost all concentration. He heard a female voice ask for directions. It was polite, but it didnât stop Taehyun to loathe whoever interrupted him. He knew it wasnât on purpose, but still he was bothered. He had opened his eyes and looked at her, incredulous, thinking âhow dare she interrupt my train of thoughtâ. He knew her, her name had escaped him but he definitely knew her.  Taehyun stood there for about three seconds before answering the girl, using a tone that wasnât the most friendly, since âfriendlyâ was never his fortĂš. His mannerisms were minimal, but the look in his eyes, the sharp voice, the tired look all contributed to him looking maybe a little more scary than he actually was, and the fact that Taehyun had a rather intimidating reputation gave him the freedom to be even more harsh.
âExcuse me?â, he raised his eyebrows, âare you lost?â. He asked it in a kind of demeaning way, but it was just his default way to deal with strangers that took over. This, however, wasnât a complete stranger. In his two and a half years of being in Apollo, Taehyun had known almost all the people and heard of all the groups being formed. He knew about StarsCream, and was even friendly with some of the members, but this was the first time he met Eunae. He only knew her name, and that she was a rapper. Nothing else about her came to mind, and furthermore these thoughts were beyond superficial. He had only two things he deeply cared about in that moment; 1. How to get out of the situation, and 2. How to get back to whatever he was thinking about before he was interrupted.Â

The Night is Still Young//Hyojin+Taehyun
apxtaehyunâ:
Hyojin felt like she had been staring at the ceiling for what seemed to be hours. She had been tossing and turning earlier in hopes of finding a comfortable position to fall asleep, but she was just too awake. Hyojin rolled over to lie on her stomach and groaned into one of her pillows. Tomorrow was going to be a busy day and she was hoping to get a good night sleep today, but fate denied her of this request. Well, in a time like this there was only one thing left to do. She reached over to her night stand, Â feeling around until she felt what she was looking for. The phoneâs home screen nearly blinded her when the home button was pressed. From the comer of her, Hyojin could see the time read 2:26, sheâd been trying to sleep for over an hour. Grumbling under her breath, she hit her messaging app and chose a particular chat before typing away.
[SNS: Taehyun~] You awake?Â
It was more unusual for Taehyun to be sleeping then to be awake at two am. At that time he was on the dance practice room, sweating, a little bit frustrated and very tired. He sat down next to where his backpack was, took his phone out, finally giving himself a rest. In the locket screen there were three messages, but only one that interested him.Â
[ SNS : Hyojin M&M ] yeah, why?
His fate was already pretty much decided so he started to put all the things he had laid out back into his backpack and cleaning out what he had messed up. It didnât take him long and he was already out the door, closing it behind him with the key the receptionists usually left with him. He was there so often, all of it just seemed like routine. Hyojin and him usually had these crazy encounters and he appreciated them, although reluctantly, because it broke that routine.

Begging â hwasa â taehyun
To Hyejin, singing came as natural as talking. She had found her passion some time in middle school, and even though her singing had lacked in control and her breathing had been all over the place, it had been obvious she had talent for it. That talent had taken her all the way to the hallways of the entertainment industry, her voice being honed into an instrument more powerful and versatile than she ever thought it could become. There was still a bit to go before she could show it off to the rest of the world of course, a bit to go until she could say singing was what she worked with. Now, she figured the phone call from a few days ago might take her a bit further on that journey.
She knew him as Nam Taehyun; she knew he was the leader of Khaos and most importantly she knew him as a composer. Hyejin had heard bits and pieces of his works and she could without a moment of hesitation tell that the guy had talent. Sure, not all of his songs were completely her style, but that didnât stop her from appreciating the captivating melodies and clear arrangements. In all honesty, composer Nam Taehyun was one of the people she looked up to the most in Apollo. Her own compositions seemed amateurish and simple in comparison, lacking that something the elder managed to give his work.
When he had made the phone call asking her to meet him in the cafeteria to discuss a collab, she hadnât thought twice before accepting. The decision had been based on equal parts excitement over getting to sing one of his songs and pride over being asked to lend her voice to the cause. Sure, the circumstances werenât exactly common practice â Hyejin suspected this wasnât quite how olympians usually planned out collaborations within the company. She wasnât even sure how Taehyun had managed to get her number, as she sure didnât have his saved on her phone (before now, that was), but that was of no importance now. It was a lunch meeting after all, not a lunch date, and him looking up her number did probably mean he had planned on asking her and no one else for the collab. She liked the thought of that.
With her heart beating a little faster than what she deemed necessary for the occasion, Hyejin made her way into the cafeteria. She scanned the surroundings, looking for the not too familiar face of the man who had invited her to the meeting. She found him towards the back of the room, looking rather relaxed as he leaned against the back of his chair, and swiftly navigated her way between tables full with eating olympians, titans and heroes. A quick glance on her watch as she placed her lunch tray on the table told the singer she was arriving just in time. âHello, Iâm Ahn Hyejin, itâs nice too meet you. You were talking about doing a collab, right?â she greeted the elder with a bow.
It was a releif to him that she came with a smile on her face â that meant she didnât think he had bad intentions. Well, to Taehyun, is was a relief she even came at all. Being the ill-tempered man he was, he was very scared his not-so-nice reputation was going to perpetuate itself to Hwasaâs ears. The image that he had within the company was an obsessive, moody, and i little bit abnormal producer that slept too little and trained too much. His friends knew him better, of course, but it wasnât rare that someone who didnât know him thought of him as someone to stay away from. However, Taehyun didnât dislike that image since he didnât like most people anyways, but now he felt the disadvantages of having such an impression on his skin for he was very nervous on what he should do next so she would like him. He wasnât sure how he should greet her, should he get up, put out a hand? Making a good impression has never been his fortĂš. He raised himself just a little and smiled, nodding.Â
âHi! Iâm glad you came, I wasnât sure if you would... â, he started, being as friendly as Taehyun could be, which wasn't much, his tone was still a little tired and overbearing. He ran his fingers through his hair and tucking it behind his ears. He sat a little more on the edge of the chair as he started speaking. âI have so much in mind for your track... Your voice is like what a producer dreams of... You could do so much for me, I really donât know how to put this. Iâve been trying to find a voice like your within so many people, even myself, but itâs really hard. I hope you see how talented you are. You are in Versae, right? Well, theyâre a very lucky group. Anyway, Iâve pre-recorded some tracks that you could listen to if you like, I donât know how much musical knowledge you have but if youâd like to give an opinion on what we should do, you can. Iâm still in the early stages, I didnât want to chain myself to an idea too muchâ.
One could see how exited he was, even with his usual messy hairstyle, the bags under his eyes, his tiredness and a slight arrogance. He hadnât ordered anything from the menu yet, although he wasnât sure if he should. He, as was many other trainees, was broke and lived mostly out of energy drinks and instant ramen, in a good day. He pulled the menu out of the way and brought his computer to the table, one that Ashton himself had given him so he could work on his music, completely ignoring the thought of eating. He was thinking to himself of how their project would turn out to be. Maybe if it was good enough he could show it to someone in a higher position than him, maybe even Ashton Park... It could really turn into something big. He was beginning his obsessive cycle, First, he kept thinking about it, afterwards, he couldnât stop working on it until it was perfect. How Hwasa would keep up with that was a problem he wasnât sure he would see fixed. Surely he wouldnât change his methods to fit her, but he also wouldnât disregard her needs. He was hoping from the bottom of his heart that this worked, and that this project would turn out as great as Hwasaâa and Taeâs combined talent.Â

their so-called âleader meetingsâ started off as a way to relieve stress. they usually exchanged tips on how to handle a group, considering 5 other girls are as tough as 6 grown up guys to manager. they still do up to this date and sooyeon has found it sort of therapeutic at times because some days, she just canât stand the sight of her. really. somehow though, as their meetings became more frequent, the two started to discuss things over lunch and even follow each other out on errands.
by now, sooyeon already knows what is taehyunâs usual drink at the apollo caferteria and for small amount, sooyeon notices itâs really good. yet she still loves her bubbletea and she knows that would take a while to get ready so she takes a seat next to the buildingâs floor-to-wall window.Â
he was surprisingly well rested... his spirits were up and he really felt good. he was standing by a window with his lyric notebook open, and his good mood inspired joyful tunes and compositions, the mid-day sun warmly resting itsâ rays on the boy. taehyunâs kind of âgood moodâ, however, isnât really like the rest of the worldâs âgood moodâ. he smiles, but he still looks tired. itâs kind of hard for him to get rid of dark circles, they seem to be a permanent feature of his face, and if you pass him, he is still a weird boy sitting on the floor of a apollo corridor writing songs no one asked him to write. but in his heart, at that moment, he was in love with the world. he didnât know what put him in a good mood, but nonetheless he wasnât complaining.
his phone rang as a nice surprise. he was glad jessica was a friend, his stress sometimes overcame him and the pressure as a leader was very great, also because most of khaos was older than him. jessicaâs and taeâs meetings really helped him coop and understand his responsibilities.Â

Stand Out || Taehyun & Jihyun
apxtaehyun
Jihyun is one for taking on difficult roles no matter what they are, she dives head first into it. Of course why wouldnât she; acting is her strong suit. Little did she know that the current role that sheâs facing requires her to sing. Now; the actress isnât exactly the best singer in the world. She wasnât born with those powerful windpipes like some of her other colleagues at Apollo has. She can hold a tone and can sing soft tones; so she wonât sound like a screeching cat. But thereâs no way that she can make a career from it. Unfortunately her role wonât allow her to sing alto - it requires her to sing soprano.Â
She was told that someone could be able to help her with her vocals. She wasnât told who they were but she must meet them at the lounge at 5:00 PM. The young woman wondered who would be her mentor is it someone that sheâs friends with, an acquaintance, or is it someone new. Either way sheâs happy that someone is willing to help her out. Twirling a strand of hair in her slender finger; Jihyun humming a song softly.Â
Each person that passed by Jihyun made her curious. âMaybe itâs her, or maybe itâs him. I donât think the janitor is it. Maybe..â Jihyun is a very shy human being so itâs not like she can ask anyone if theyâre her mentor or not. Pouting her lips a bit hoping that the person will show up.
Taehyun got there five minutes late. He had woken up just 10 minutes before the scheduled time, sleeping in a couch somewhere within Apollo. Slightly annoyed that he had to do it, he wondered how he got into the situation. He knew he promised he would do it to his manager, although the reason he said yes was well beyond him. His manager had promised Taehyun would do it to someone else before even asking the boy â Â a person he owed a favor to. Tae doesnât remember saying yes... His best guess is that manager hyung asked him in a opportune time when Tae wasnât feeling his best and just said yes out of annoyance.Â
Nevertheless, he had to do it, and indeed there he was, even if five minutes late. His state? Not very good. His old hoodie jacked that he had for years, and that was too big for him, his hair that was messy and sticking up, his dark circles, his jeans he had been wearing for three days now, all this and somehow he didnât look like he was living on the streets. He didnât care much how he looked, but he was glad he was at the very least presentable. He walked into the lounge and looked around hectically. Taehyun knew what Jihyun looked like, he had seen her in dramas before, but he had never met her. It didnât take long for him to spot her, standing with her back to him. He walked in closer and tapped her on the shoulder slightly.Â
âHello, Iâm Taehyun from Khaos, we were supposed to meet, right? â, he said, introducing himself without the slightest smile on his face. He was tired and moody, but he had to do this...
conflict â lime â taehyun
Somewhere outside the fourth floor studios, Hyerim is lazily browsing through her phone. Reading the three week old text message from her manager once more, as if she has anything to confirm. âWould you like to work on an OST with Khaosâ Nam Taehyun? Just a suggestion from the CEO, nothing is set yet.â she mumbles out loud and can almost feel her tummy ache with nervosity. She looks at the clock once before forcing her phone down the purse filled with abused notebooks and snack covers. Smacking her lips, she takes a quick look around for Taehyun as itâs two oâclock already, before taking a deep breath and hurrying into the decided studio.Â
Hyerim isnât sure why sheâs acting all nervous. Maybe because itâs her first official project, maybe because itâs Taehyun? From what sheâs heard, heâs supposed to be really picky and somewhat intimidating. Their gazes had met before in the corridors and cafeteria and she couldnât exactly disagree. She doesnât exactly want to believe what everyoneâs saying and is more than willing to form her own expression, but sheâs heard Taehyunâs works before and theyâre excessively good. Although the thing that worries her the most is how incredibly different their tastes may be and if this Taehyun person is as scary as people make him sound like, sheâs not sure how sheâll handle it. At those thoughts the Khaos member suddenly enters, looking like chaos, indeed, and Hyerim instinctively stands up from her sitting position to greet him with a hurried bow. A bit taken aback of his choice of greeting, she quickly nods and gestures for him to sit.Â
âIâm Kim Hyerim,â she greets, as if he didnât know it already, âItâs a pleasure working with you.â Although she isnât completely honest about that last line, she plans to be honest from now on. âIâve read about the drama and written some lyrics, just stuff that popped up in my head, not much composing done⊠Iâd love to hear what youâve come up with.âÂ
He answered her with a smile and walked into the room decisively, to then immediately sit on the producersâ chair, as was his costume. It didnât pass his mind the fact that maybe Ashtonâs intentions werenât for him to lead the project, but for the both of them to work together. The only group he had great teamwork with was Khaos, and even with them he was a kind of authority figure, him being the leader and such, therefore for those reasons and the fact that Taehyun didnât like authority, especially those who hadnât yet gained his respect, the boy didnât know nor wanted to learn how to share the creative process with somebody else, although he would have to learn it eventually... âMaybeâ, he thought, âthis eventually has come now...âÂ
He couldnât deny how awkward the room was. While he opened the computer that was put in front of him, the silence that fell was slightly uncomfortable, but he was sure soon enough they would start work, and all those concerns would fade. He was curious to see what she had prepared, to see if it fit anything he had done by himself. He didnât get to know too much about the drama, but Ashton told him, and he was sure he told her too, about some guidelines on what the song should be about. First, he said it couldn't be too complicated musically, just an R&B track without many buildupâs or immense beat drops that sometimes Taehyun liked to use, the lyrics should talk about platonic love, but the sort that admires onesâ love above all else, a sort of classicist way to look at lover.Â
Without turning to her and ignoring the awkwardness in the room, he asked;Â âShall I play one of my demos now?â. He didnât wait for her to answer, and pressed the play button right away. He was acting very comfortably. This was, after all, the place where he spent the most time. The studio was like his second home, and nothing could take that away from him.Â
* surrounded; halla + taehyun
It was a beautiful day outside, with sun shining through the trees and leaving spots of light on the sidewalks of the city. It was the kind of day that authors wrote about, and singers sang about - a pretty kind of day that made Halla want to go outside and feel the sunshine on her face and wind in her long, dark hair.
Pulling on some jeans and a simple white t-shirt, she jumped off her bed and went out the door of the Artemis dormitories. She briefly considered putting on a hat and some sunglasses or something. After all, she hated being recognized when she was out, and tried to avoid it whenever possible. It wasnât easy. Ever since Halla won the Best Child Actor award when she was five years old, fans had gathered around her whenever she stepped foot outside, crowding her and trying to pinch her cheeks and touch her hair and get her attention. It was fine, until they mobbed her car one day, causing a huge accident on the Seoul highways.
But against her better judgment, she shook her head and decided to just go out as she was. She was going to a cafe just outside the building - it was a short walk, and it was still early in the morning. Not that many people would be out, and she wouldnât even be outside for that long. Besides, she didnât want to be confined in so many clothes and be shielded from the sun, and it would be fine, right?
Wrong. Very wrong, apparently.
As soon as she stepped outside the dorms, people started recognizing her. Little kids who saw her in chicken CFs, people her age who wore the school uniforms she advertised, older people who had followed her career since itâs inception in her very first drama - they all crowded around her, marveling at the sight of the former child actress.
âHalla!â âHalla!â âHalla are you going to act again???â âHalla when are you debuting??â âCan I have your Kakao??â âI love you!!â
The more people gathered, the more people came to see the spectacle that was going on, and it became an unending cycle of awfulness that she didnât want to think about. Soon, she was in the middle of a swirling hurricane of people, with voices shouting at her from every direction and hands pulling on her hair and tugging at her arms. She couldnât escape, and she felt her heart starting to race, head spinning from the loud noises and a weight on her chest, making it difficult for her to breathe.Â
It wasnât unusual for Taehyun to still be up early in the morning â yes, âstillâ. He didnât really have a ânormalâ sleeping pattern, or any pattern whatsoever. His one priority was music, and he couldnât waste time sleeping, his obsession was too great for that. This one particular morning he had decided to go outside to treat himself some breakfast for once. It was easy for him to do so, although he did have a pretty nice following, his fans werenât that many and they were all scattered around, so the most that could happen was one or two people asking him for a pictures and some looks set toward him. He was fairly well dressed for having stayed up all night and not caring much how he looked. His hair was a mess, but he kept running his hand through it so at least it had a direction, the bags under his eyes were less prominent then usual since this night he didnât force himself too much. Overall, Taehyun was a decent-looking human being for once.Â
He sat down on the cute coffee shop they had across the street and ordered his usual black coffee and bottle of water. It was then that he heard a scream. No one else in the cafe seemed no notice (well, there weren't many people there anyway), but Taehyun got up and looked at the noise coming from outside.
âOh my God, itâs Halla!â; âCan you believe it? Sheâs a singer now!â; âCan I take a picture? Halla, please!âÂ
Taehyun could deal with crowds pretty well, but usually he wasnât the one causing the commotion, so he had no idea how that poor girl felt. He had obviously heard of her, he was even close with some of her group members, but his interactions with Halla didnât go mcuh further than simple eye contact. He pitied her for being in such a horrible position... This wasnât fan love, it was harassment. He could barely see her since there the crowd around her was so big. He could only get little glimpses of her, once in awhile. She didnât look good, she looked distressed. At this point, Tae had already sat down again. Still watching her, of course. He had one more brief look at her and noticed that she was more than just frightened. She was panicking, he could see it. He decided he had to go there. How else would that torture end? The crowd wasnât going to get smaller, thatâs for sure.
He got up and left the cafe without taking his eyes off of her. He stopped a little by the edge of the at least 20 people that surrounded her, thinking of the best route to take to get to her. He saw a way in, and quickly walked into the crowd. Once he got in, he could catch a glimpse of the agony she mustn't been feeling â it was almost suffocating in there. The people screaming felt so loud he put his hands over his ears, but when he finally got to her, he reached both arms out and caught her by the arm and the waist, pulling her out of the packed space.Â
He wondered if the people even noticed she was gone. He could hear them still screaming although the sound was being drained in his ears; he was very focused on getting her out of there. He wondered which way to go, but ultimately decided to go back to the cafe. While trying to hide her with his body, crouching a little and leading her, they walked into the place but didnât head toward his table, but walked inside to a slightly tight space away from the windows where the outsidersâ eyes could not reach them.
