Moon sign confessions
Aries moon: I feel too much that it makes me infuriated. I may come across arrogant but in reality I am the most sensitive in the room. Please be patient with me and I can give you everything youâve ever wanted.
Taurus moon: Deep down i am scared of most things and I cling to anything that makes me feel safe. I hate it when people rush me as it makes me feel insignificant. I am only stubborn to protect myself.
Gemini moon: People assume I am shallow and take nothing seriously. You donât see the times when I am alone and I break down my barriers where no one can see me. I am capable of feeling a multitude of emotions simultaneously and it scares me to the point of numbness. I donât choose to be âtoo muchâ.
Cancer moon: I am very ambitious but self-protective. I feel everything so deeply that sometimes I feel like the world was not meant for me. But donât assume I am weak; I am an extremely strong individual and can endure the most emotional torment.
Leo moon: I am sick of being the brave one. I am tired of being the strong friend everybody goes to...I am a human being like everybody else so donât look at me strangely when I want to be vulnerable and understand that vulnerability is hard for me.
Virgo moon: High standards and inner rules dominate my life. I hold myself to extraordinarily high standards and when I donât reach them I fall apart. Please donât joke about my inner rules as it is one of the only things I believe in.
Libra moon: I want to put myself first and my thoughts to the forefront of my mind. All my life I have put others first and on a pedestal; do you think it would be okay to put myself first once in a while?
Scorpio moon: I donât trust myself easily. I know the darkness that lives inside people and I know how easy it can be to access this. I go through life with emotional third-degree burns and people have the audacity to tell me Iâm over-sensitive: I cannot help the way I feel.
Sagittarius moon: Nothing is good enough for me. I seem to spend my life chasing things and then throwing them away when Iâm bored. For once in my life I would like something to hold my attention for more than a minute. I want to feel worthwhile enough to make something or someone stay.
Capricorn moon: I wish I could feel less responsible for the world but I canât help wanting to fix everything. I am not patronising, I just want to help. People assume I am uptight but the truth is I help people more than anyone else and I want to help society be as successful as it can be.
Aquarius moon: Overthinking is the bane of my life. For once I would like to feel things without asking myself: âis this the right or wrong way to feel?â I am exhausted emotionally and I am envious of people who are impetuous risk-takers. It takes so much for me to make a decision as I am aware of the effects of all the possible outcomes.
Pisces moon: The world is too linear and cynical for me. I donât think the way most people do and spirituality is important to me. I am tired of people laughing at the way I live my life and for once I would like the world to be open-minded...I donât think that itâs too much to ask.
idk how to feel about my taurus moon:/

Mind-body therapies alleviate pain in people prescribed opioids
A new study published in the journal JAMA Internal Medicine details the first comprehensive look across the scientific literature at the role of mind-body therapies in addressing opioid-treated pain. The researchers found that certain mind-body therapies can reduce pain, as well as reduce opioid use, among patients treated with prescription opioids.
âThese findings are critical for medical and behavioral health professionals as they work with patients to determine the best and most effective treatments for pain,â said Eric Garland, lead author on the study, associate dean for research at the University of Utah College of Social Work and the director of the University of Utahâs Center on Mindfulness and Integrative Health Intervention Development.
Garland explained that mind-body therapies focus on changing behavior and the function of the brain with the goal of improving quality of life and health. Mind-body therapies include clinical use of meditation/mindfulness, hypnosis, relaxation, guided imagery, therapeutic suggestion and cognitive-behavioral therapy.
The researchers examined over 4,200 articles to identify 60 previously published randomized controlled trials on psychologically oriented mind-body therapies for opioid-treated pain. The randomized controlled trials included in the study involved more than 6,400 study participants. The research team looked at the type of pain experienced by the study participants (such as short-term pain from a medical procedure or long-term chronic pain), the type of mind-body therapy used, its effect on the severity of pain and the use (or misuse) of opioids.
They found that meditation/mindfulness, hypnosis, therapeutic suggestion and cognitive-behavioral therapy all demonstrated significant improvements in pain severity. They also found that the majority of the meditation/mindfulness, therapeutic suggestion and cognitive-behavioral therapy studies showed improvements in opioid use or misuse. In contrast, two studies utilizing relaxation found significantly worsened results in opioid dosing.
Notably, mind-body therapies seem to be effective at reducing acute pain from medical procedures, as well as chronic pain. The researchers highlighted this as an important finding, as mind-body therapies could be easily integrated into standard medical practice and could potentially prevent chronic use of opioids and opioid use disorder.
Since mind-body therapies primarily use mental techniques and can continue to be utilized by patients after formal treatment, they may be more easily-accessible than other treatments. The researchers also concluded that two of the mind-body therapies examined, meditation/mindfulness and cognitive-behavioral therapy, might have the highest clinical impact, since they are so widely accessible and affordable.
âA study published earlier this year projected that by 2025, some 82,000 Americans will die each year from opioid overdose,â said Garland. âOur research suggests that mind-body therapies might help alleviate this crisis by reducing the amount of opioids patients need to take to cope with pain. If all of usâdoctors, nurses, social workers, policymakers, insurance companies and patientsâuse this evidence as we make decisions, we can help stem the tide of the opioid epidemic.â
Stressed to the max? Deep sleep can rewire the anxious brain
When it comes to managing anxiety disorders, William Shakespeareâs Macbeth had it right when he referred to sleep as the âbalm of hurt minds.â While a full night of slumber stabilizes emotions, a sleepless night can trigger up to a 30% rise in anxiety levels, according to new research from UC Berkeley.
Researchers have found that the type of sleep most apt to calm and reset the anxious brain is deep sleep, also known as non-rapid eye movement (NREM) slow-wave sleep, a state in which neural oscillations become highly synchronized, and heart rates and blood pressure drop.
âWe have identified a new function of deep sleep, one that decreases anxiety overnight by reorganizing connections in the brain,â said study senior author Matthew Walker, a UC Berkeley professor of neuroscience and psychology. âDeep sleep seems to be a natural anxiolytic (anxiety inhibitor), so long as we get it each and every night.â
The findings, published in the journal Nature Human Behaviour, provide one of the strongest neural links between sleep and anxiety to date. They also point to sleep as a natural, non-pharmaceutical remedy for anxiety disorders, which have been diagnosed in some 40 million American adults and are rising among children and teens.
âOur study strongly suggests that insufficient sleep amplifies levels of anxiety and, conversely, that deep sleep helps reduce such stress,â said study lead author Eti Ben Simon, a postdoctoral fellow in the Center for Human Sleep Science at UC Berkeley.
In a series of experiments using functional MRI and polysomnography, among other measures, Simon and fellow researchers scanned the brains of 18 young adults as they viewed emotionally stirring video clips after a full night of sleep, and again after a sleepless night. Anxiety levels were measured following each session via a questionnaire known as the state-trait anxiety inventory.
After a night of no sleep, brain scans showed a shutdown of the medial prefrontal cortex, which normally helps keep our anxiety in check, while the brainâs deeper emotional centers were overactive.
âWithout sleep, itâs almost as if the brain is too heavy on the emotional accelerator pedal, without enough brake,â Walker said.
After a full night of sleep, during which participantsâ brain waves were measured via electrodes placed on their heads, the results showed their anxiety levels declined significantly, especially for those who experienced more slow-wave NREM sleep.
âDeep sleep had restored the brainâs prefrontal mechanism that regulates our emotions, lowering emotional and physiological reactivity and preventing the escalation of anxiety,â Simon said.
Beyond gauging the sleep-anxiety connection in the 18 original study participants, the researchers replicated the results in a study of another 30 participants. Across all the participants, the results again showed that those who got more nighttime deep sleep experienced the lowest levels of anxiety the next day.
Moreover, in addition to the lab experiments, the researchers conducted an online study in which they tracked 280 people of all ages about how both their sleep and anxiety levels changed over four consecutive days.
The results showed that the amount and quality of sleep the participants got from one night to the next predicted how anxious they would feel the next day. Even subtle nightly changes in sleep affected their anxiety levels.
âPeople with anxiety disorders routinely report having disturbed sleep, but rarely is sleep improvement considered as a clinical recommendation for lowering anxiety,â Simon said. âOur study not only establishes a causal connection between sleep and anxiety, but it identifies the kind of deep NREM sleep we need to calm the overanxious brain.â
On a societal level, âthe findings suggest that the decimation of sleep throughout most industrialized nations and the marked escalation in anxiety disorders in these same countries is perhaps not coincidental, but causally related,â Walker said. âThe best bridge between despair and hope is a good night of sleep.â
Co-authors of the study are Aubrey Rossi and Allison Harvey, both at UC Berkeley.
Five helpful tips for a restorative nightâs sleep
Go to bed and wake up at the same time every day, even after a bad nightâs sleep or on the weekend.
Keep your bedroom temperature cool; about 65 degrees Fahrenheit is optimal for cooling your body toward sleep. Wear socks if your feet are cold.
An hour before bedtime, dim the lights and turn off all electronic screens and devices. Blackout curtains are helpful.
If you canât sleep, get out of bed and do something quiet and relaxing until the urge to sleep returns. Then, go back to bed.
Avoid caffeine after 1 p.m. and never go to bed tipsy. Alcohol is a sedative, and sedation is not sleep. It also blocks your REM dream sleep, an important part of the sleep cycle.
misconceptions in astrology
hi, theres been a lot of negativity moving through astrology and i kinda wanna nip that in the bud. astrology is a tool meant for introspection and growth, its not to be abused in any manner so i wanna clear some stuff up so we can all use it properly and as a way to guide us through our time on earth
1. â___ is a bad signâ there are literally no bad signs, not one. there are 12 and they are all lovely. when addressing signs you have an issue with, use underdeveloped vs developed. For example, instead of saying âscorpios are so toxicâ say, âunderdeveloped scorpios can be extremly toxicâ and explain why. We all have personal bias towards signs but theres really no need to hate on them because we need all the zodiac signs to create peace.Â
2. âA planet in fall/detriment isnât good,â simply not true. Its easier to deal with a planet in exaltation or rulership but that means theres barely any tension and room for growth. to have a planet in fall or detriment means that the planet is working overtime to work within your chart and help you grow into a healthy version of yourself. Example: Having aries in venus isnt cause for disaster, this sign cultivates their own version of love, something unique that is beyond our comprehensionÂ
3. âiâm not compatible with ___â first of all, no. No, no, no, no. Every sign is compatible with another, dont let anyone tell you different. synastry is a good tool to see how your charts work together so if you want some enlightenment look there. but dont ever say âim a gemini and hes a capricorn so itâd never work,â it always can, dont abuse astrology in a way where you use it for something as basic as compatibility, its so much more than that. Â
4. âsquare, opposite, harsh conjunctions are bad.â they simply arent. they are tough, extremely tough to work with, thats true and im not going to sugar coat it. but some of the most amazing, driven, beautiful people have these within their chart a lot. to have a square means you have two different energies that are working to meet in the middle with each other. to have an opposite means two energies are observing and understanding each other. none of these are bad, they help us blossom into wonderful people.Â
5. âPlanets in retrograde suckâ i dont know who needs to hear this but retrogrades are good. natally and within the stars. retrogrades are a tool used to make us stop and reflect and see what we need to do to change and grow. having retrograde in a chart is even better because we get to stop and reflect constantly. we heal because of how we look into our hearts. planetary retrogrades are cause for lots and lots of growth.Â

i know someone with jupiter in the 5th who seems to not stay single for too long before she finds another partner. how would jupiter in the 1st house play out? what would jupiter in the 1st not go too long without before they gain it again? in my friendâs case itâs romantic relationships (5th).
Jupiter in the 5th house is in the natural house of the Sun. We have to consider a reality that the Sunâs main focus is not to form attachments. It is to pursue warmth in the moment. So if the no âwarmthâ from a dating partner, they can move on and âdate someone else.â Since Jupiter is the planet of joy and prosperity and belief; the person with Jupiter here may be a bit naive and feel âthere is always someone better out there.â There may not settle down and marry so easy because of it. Or if they do itâs because itâs someone they donât get bored with and feel the need to float away from.
Jupiter in the first house would show the identity is build around concepts related to Jupiter They will identify with a desire to grow, expand, broaden horizons, seek higher abstract thought, religion, philosophical belief. They often to love nature, pets and children. They seek humor, seek a tribe they fit into in the world, sporting events and activities to fit in with others. Marriage can be important because it is a religious institute of âgod.â The partner is often one who interacts more at the local level and likes to learn; so Jupiter in the 1st can teach them. And they have fun together with humor. Those sometimes Jupiter in the 1âČst jokes may go over the partners head.
I am not sure I understand â what would Jupiter in the 1st not go too long without before they gain it again.â If we are talking about things that would them happy? Look at Sun. Moon and Mars because are all friends of Jupiter. If one of those planets conjuncts or falls under Jupiterâs aspect then the person needs them all the time to be happy. The trineâs are the most powerful aspect to Jupiter because they represent the âfire of lifeâ triangle. So if Sun, Moon or Mars trines Jupiter (or even sits in opposition.) Then these things might be what they need to seek to gain again and cant live without.
I hope that gives some perspective. Because I just mind *****ed myself on the last one Lol.
physical attributes in the rising signs
note: many parts of the natal chart have influence over appearance â looks are certainly not limited to the rising sign alone. these are just some general features that iâve noticed!
đ„ aries rising - somewhat harsh eyes, but more in the sense of being daring/challenging rather than intimidating or scary. open and youthful faces, always look âon.â focus tends to be drawn to the upper part of face (hairline/forehead/eyebrows/eyes), but particularly forehead in regards to the hairline. expressive brows. tend to put on muscle easily. Â
đż taurus rising - eyes tend to be kind of shadowed, almost drowsy looking. gentle jawline, rounded cheeks. kind of have this stern softness going on; gentle authority. focus brought to nose and lips. broadness (shoulders/back, stomach/hips) that gives sense of sturdiness.Â
â gemini rising - spritely demeanor, often some combination of small face, âawakeâ eyes (not necessarily round), distinct cheekbones. mouth tends to be smaller in some way (thinner lips, short width across face). tend to look younger than they actually are. something âwiryâ about body shape (doesnât necessarily mean thin, but can mean longer arms, fingers, torso, the like).Â
đ cancer rising - round eyes, but not necessarily big (irises tend to be the focus rather than the actual eye shape). rounder face shape (especially noticed in jawline and cheekbones; tip of nose can also be rounded). a subdued, broody gentleness. can tend to put on weight more easily, or just look more âfilled outâ in chest/stomach. something shortened (not necessarily overall height, but can be shorter leg ratio, shorter arms, etc.)
đ„ leo rising - something about the hair or head is a defining trait. wide or long heads/faces, often paired with smaller eyes (can sometimes seem âbeadyâ). similar to aries rising with larger foreheads, but has more to do with eye size/placement rather than hairline. sturdy bodies, especially in shoulders or legs.Â
đż virgo rising - similar in some ways to gemini rising, but eyes tend to seem more âagedâ (shadowed, more prone to bags under eyes, the like â gemini and virgo are anxiety-prone, but it tends to age virgo more visibly); cheekbones tend to be less distinct. youthful, but stern. broad foreheads. torso tends to be defined in some way (defined waist, broad or rounded stomach, etc.)
â libra rising - faces tend to be symmetrical (no oneâs face is perfectly symmetrical, but libra is certainly close). eyebrows and nose tend to be a focus, as well as mouth/smile. honestly, there doesnât seem to be a main attribute that really ties all libra risings together â faces can be small or large, eyes big or small, jaw gentle or more defined. symmetry is the main thing. bodies are similarly âbalanced.â
đ scorpio rising - eyes similar to taurus rising with being more shadowed, but take on a similar intensity to aries rising eyes. focus drawn to eyes and nose; eyebrows and/or eyes can seem harsh, nose can be long and/or aquiline. high cheekbones and/or defined chin. tend to put on muscle easily. similar broadness to taurus in shoulders and back and/or stomach and hips, but somewhat more defined.
đ„ sagittarius rising - weight tends to be focused in middle or bottom of face to create a diamond or triangle face shape (more defined nose and cheeks or chin/jaw), or face shape tends to be long. nose tends to be most prominent feature, with everything above and below (eyes, forehead, lips) being smaller. eyes can seem âbeadyâ like leo, but have a similar âawakeâ quality like gemini. tend to have sporty builds (not necessarily thin, but rather can take on stockiness or thickness in certain areas).Â
đż capricorn rising - broad faces, prominent jawline and eyebrows. tend towards a square face shape. shadowed or deep-set eyes, eyes tend to be small. honestly most prominent feature tends to be thick eyebrows or prominent brow ridge, along with squared jaw. mouths tend not to be a focus, but they can have distinct cupidâs bows. subdued and serious.
â aquarius rising - similar to libra rising, there doesnât seem to be a singular set of traits that are noticeable across the board; i think this rising can take on similar traits to both gemini and libra in terms of a general âawakeâ quality and symmetry. can have something distinctly noticeable in their appearance that makes them stand out, but not necessarily true for all aqua risings. similar detachment/seriousness of capricorn risings that separates aquarius from libra and gemini risings.Â
đ pisces rising - eyes tend to be main focus, either due to being large and rounded or squinted. eyes tend to be rather watery. nose shape also tends to be prominent. weight of face tends to be in eye/nose region, somewhat similar to sagittarius (except with more focus on eyes). smiles can seem strange in some way (crooked, lips cover much of teeth, the like). takes on a similar broodiness to cancer, but more curious than gentle. bodies have a similar softness to cancer, but doesnât take on the same round/stocky quality. Â
