Something that’s helped me understand astrology better is looking (with permission of course) at the charts of people I know, especially those I’m close to. If you’re a beginner, I highly encourage starting by studying your chart and the charts of people you’re close to and have known for a while.

I used to think, “why don’t these people act like this sign/placement’s archetype?” But instead of being discouraged, I dug deeper into astrology and used it as a way to help me understand how placements manifest differently under different circumstances, and how aspects, retrogrades, etc, can influence how a placement is expressed.
