Hi all! Turns out I was a lot busier than I thought I would be! Unfortunately I wasn’t able to finish all my replies, but I actually leave for Japan tomorrow and I won’t be back until December 22nd. I’m not taking my laptop with me, but I promise I’ll get back to all the replies I owe as soon as I get back from my trip!

I’m officially back a day earlier than expected! I’m completely exhausted but I had a good time! Now that I’m back, I’m gonna get some rest and work on replies tomorrow. Thanks for waiting! :D

“Huh…I didn’t either!” She chuckled, fluffing one of her pigtails casually. “My avatar was modeled after a character in a book I liked as a kid. I…I never got to share it with Miyu though, even though I was planning too. I suppose it’s fitting we are teaming up, considering we match and all.”

Though, she had to keep Aqua’s identity under wraps, despite wanting to tell Akira. If anyone knew she had her then she’d have trouble on her hands. Playing low as Blue Angel for now was the best move. 

“I have another show soon, so you should just hide out here in my disk for the time being. We can then go home and get some rest, okay, Aqua?”

"A book?" Aqua repeated curiously. She wasn't sure what Aoi was referring to at all, but she didn't pressure her into the subject. Aoi and Aqua had a lot of things to talk about regarding their partnership and she didn't want to rush the process of getting to know her Origin's dear friend.

"I wonder if it's because of Miyu's friendship towards you," the Ignis wondered out loud, fiddling with her own pigtails a little bit. "Throughout the Lost Incident, her hair was typed just like yours. Maybe it was her own way of trying to think of you."

Aqua just smiled at the duelist with a gentle nod of her head as she mentioned one of her shows. It was nice to see that even during the war, Aoi still took the time as Blue Angel to respond to her fans. It was one of the many things Aqua had grown to like with her new friend.

"Don't worry. I can change my form to match your duel disk," Aqua quickly explained before allowing herself to transform into a little eyeball, making herself comfortable in her partner's duel disk. "This way, if anyone gets suspicious, I can just act like a standard A.I. Will that work?"

Sorry for the late replies! I’ve been caught up in preparing to move cities and sort out my trip to Japan next week but I’ll get to them tomorrow! ^^

He nodded slightly once the other one introduced herself. At this point he had  heard her name various times, not only from the two Ignis she just mentioned. But it was nice to know that she still introduced herself none the less. “It’s nice to meet you Aqua.” he replied in the end, smiling softly. 

But yeah, with the way he had said that it had been rather clear that she would ask about that. Did he mind though? Not really. 

“He tried to get in contact with me but I didn’t really realize it at first. And one evening he just popped out of my Duel Disk and I kinda freaked out?” he told her in the end shrugging a bit. “I may or may not been ready to throw a television on him before listening what he had to say?”

Would she blame him? Takeru wasn’t really sure. He apologized a lot about that at some later point but in the moment it had happened? The other one really had scared him at that point and Takeru couldn’t help himself in any other way. Maybe he had just been close to believing he was just loosing his mind completely with imagine things like that. But still… looking back it was probably one of the best things ever happened to him. 

A quiet gasp left the small one's lips as she heard Takeru's tale, but it was soon replaced with a light laugh, her delicate fingertips slightly covering her mouth to soften her giggles. To some extent, Aqua wasn't all that surprised by his behaviour on the matter. The Ignis would have been a shock to anyone – that was partially the reason for them being hunted down in the first place. They were different, unpredictable and brought change to the world; it was just a shame that not a lot of people saw that as a good thing.

“Well, I’m glad the two of you managed to come through that unscathed,” Aqua laughed quietly as she slowly sat down on Aoi’s duel disk and made herself comfortable. “Even with your initial troubles, it brings me peace to know that you and Flame – as well as Playmaker and Ai – have such a strong connection. It will be put to the test, but I am sure you will all pass.”

However, while hard to see, Aqua’s smile faded a little as the topic made her think about her partner’s own wellbeing.

"I can only hope that one day my Origin and I will be as close as the four of you."

“I….am.” he replied a little bit slow, still a bit surprised about the sudden appearance of the Ignis. After they had looking around searching for her a while in LINK VRAINS it was rather unexpected to find her now. Here of all places because this wasn’t the virtual world. And while he knew for a while that Aoi wasn’t that uninvolved as it seemed from time to time he didn’t expected her to have the missing Ignis. 

“I’m Takeru. Homura Takeru.” he added in the end, deciding that it wouldn’t be that nice not to talk in whole sentences. 

The last part made him smirk a bit as a memory popped up in his head. Yeah. Flame did find him without harm. It was the meeting with him that nearly brought the harm to him because if Takeru remembered correctly he nearly threw a television on the other one when he first appeared on his duel disk. 

“He helped me a lot. So taking care of him now is the last I could do. Even though I have to say our first meeting was a bit.. special.”

“Takeru…” Aqua repeated slowly, getting used to the name. “In this world, my name is Aqua. I believe you know that already from Flame and Ai, but I felt it would be more appropriate to introduce myself.” While it certainly was a surprise to find out from Earth that she had a new name, she couldn’t help but love how fitting it was for her. If given the chance, Aqua honestly couldn’t have chosen anything better. It was perfect.

“Special?” The Water Ignis hummed curiously, tilting her head slightly to the side as she pondered over his words. She was grateful that Flame had managed to help his Origin as much as Takeru had claimed. It was good to know that at least he had been safe from Lightning’s threats. “What happened? If you don’t mind me asking, that is.”

“You are the Fire Ignis’ Origin, aren’t you?” Aqua smiled, lifting her head up so she could get a good look at the duelist from her position in Aoi’s duel disk that rested on the table. “Ah,” she quickly interrupted herself, “I’m sorry. He calls himself ‘Flame’ in this world, doesn’t he?”

Flame… She had to stop herself from letting out a little laugh at the name. It was fitting for his personality, that was for sure.

“Thank you for taking care of him. I’m glad that he was able to find you without harm.”

“It’s alright. When it’s just us, I don’t mind if you call me Aoi.” She smiled gently, making sure to keep her palm stable for the tiny Ignis. “I’m glad I was able to get to you before Blood Shepherd did. Don’t worry, I’ll protect you, and we will find a way to save Miyu. I promise!”

At least, she hoped they would. It wasn’t going to be easy, but Aoi was up for the challenge. If she could save tons of people from Vrya’s Another Virus, then surely she and Aqua’s teamwork could save Miyu from Lightning’s!

“Though, I think it’s best we log out for now. Why don’t you go into my duel disk? You’ll be safe there. I think Playmaker and Soulburner’s Ignis’ tend to do that.”

“Alright, Aoi.” Aqua smiled, silently appreciating the duelist’s effort to hold her as gentle as possible. Her words made the Water Ignis’ pink eyes sparkle with delight, feeling grateful that Miyu had led her on the right path. She had known the moment Aoi had saved her, but it was a relief to see that the girl that Miyu had cherished for so many years was still has kind hearted as she remembered her.

Aqua blinked curiously and looked over at Aoi’s duel disk. So two of her fellow comrades had done the same thing? Ah, it made sense, given their programming. She had no doubts about Aoi’s words, so without a word, Aqua nodded and let herself change into a punch of pixels as she merged with her new partner’s duel disk. It was a quick transition – one that Aqua adjusted to rather instantly as she popped up from her torso upwards from the centre of the device.

“Thank you for letting me stay here,” spoke Aqua as she bowed her head slightly to show her gratitude. “Do you think it’s safe for you to log out now?”

Aqua tilts her head curiously as Aoi changes her secret avatar back to her idol self, the memory she had been gifted from Miyu resurfacing briefly thanks to a certain detail in the duelist’s avatar – specifically her pigtails. What made is strange, however, wasn’t the fact that Aoi’s online persona wore the same hairstyle from when she was a kid; it was that Aqua’s own design resembled Aoi’s own.

Had that been Miyu’s doing all along?

“Your hair…” Aqua finally speaks up from her comfortable propped up position in Aoi’s duel disk. “I never realized that our styles were similar until now.”

Curious pink eyes look up at the duelist from her place in Aoi’s duel disk as she watches him hack away at his computer. She shifts her gaze to her partner and she can’t help but feel at ease knowing that Aoi was sleeping peacefully on Yusaku’s couch, a light blue blanket resting gently on top of her. She needed the rest after today’s events – in fact, so did another certain someone…

Aqua had to admire Playmaker’s dedication to the fight. Even though Aoi had yet to explain her connection with Aqua (she had been far too tired once coming out of Link VRAINS), he still trusted the Water Ignis to not cause any harm to either of them. Given Lightning and Windy’s history, Aqua honestly wouldn’t have blamed him for any seeds of doubt about her that might have existed in his mind.

Yet she had no doubts about him; it was a calming feeling that came with her little gift – she knew that Yusaku was a good person and could be trusted. He along with Aoi were the only two reasons why she stayed on the human’s side. She wanted to believe that she could co-exist peacefully with humans; it was all she had ever wanted from the start.

“You’re up rather late.” Aqua finally comments quietly, not wishing to wake up her partner. “I know you need to analyze the data I’ve given you, but surely it can wait till tomorrow?”

“I... have to admit – for all the years I have known the Dark Ignis, I sometimes struggle to see that you are his Origin,” she confesses, furrowing her brows in mild confusion before tilting her heat curiously. “You two are quite the opposite from each other. Has it always been this way?”

“Ah–…” She quickly corrects herself before getting comfortable in the palm of her new partner’s hand. “I’m sorry. I suppose I should refer to you as ‘Blue Girl’ in this world.”
