She knew that Shelly was trying to get a rise out of her, and frankly, she wasn’t going to allow that. One eyebrow arched, she crosses her arms over her chest and stares at the taller woman. But, hey, she hasn’t left yet, right?

She knew she had Courtney’s ears now, so she’d those unfavorable comments about Aqua go. “Now, now, I didn’t say anything about Team Aqua, did I? Matt and I are the perfect team, there’d be no room for you.” And, to be frank, she had no interest in working with anyone who bought into any of Maxie’s nonsense. The very thought of it was enough made her sick. “There are plenty of other teams that would definitely use you to your full potential.” All the while getting you out of my hair. She wasn’t a fool, though, she knew that was just a pipe dream. “Although, if you’re that attached to Magma, let me just say this: It’s obvious Maxie doesn’t value those who go above and beyond for him. If he did, I’d be seeing more of you than I see of Tabitha.” She was, of course, not-so-subtly implying that Courtney should be in an even higher position than she was already.

36. How does your character behave around people they dislike?

Character Development Questions: Hard Mode || Accepting!

She’s rude to them; if Shelly doesn’t like someone they will definitely be aware of it. She particularly likes giving and calling them by rude nicknames (like brat for example) if they become a repeating presence in her affairs. She’s pretty quick to raise her voice with them too, and handy intimidation technique she’s learned to show she isn’t to be messed with.

 In very special cases like those of Team Magma, she’ll try to mess with them and get inside their heads just for the sake of her own amusement. She wouldn’t ever try that when it comes to their leader, though, in the very few times she has been around Maxie, she was silent for the most part with plenty of dirty looks directed his way.

29. What did your character dream of being or doing as a child? Did that dream come true?

Believe it or not, Shelly’s position at Devon as a scientist was one she dreamed of having since she was a child! Growing up in Hoenn Shelly heard all of the good things said about the company and everything they were able to achieve. Very early on she knew that she had to be a part of it. Of course, that dream didn’t exactly work out for her. She studied and worked extra hard to make sure she’d even be considered by the company, only to leave after a few years to work for Team Aqua.

35. How does your character behave around people they like?

To put it simply: she isn’t the loud, arrogant person most people will get to know her to be. There aren’t many people that Shelly interacts with on a daily basis that can be put into the like category. She isn’t in contact with her immediate family and she tolerates the grunts for the most part. There are two people that get to see a different side of her: Archie and Matt.

When it’s just her and Archie since she’s known her for so long she feels very comfortable around him. She can let out that softer side of her and actually let out a genuine smile or laugh. It’s the same with Matt, and she warmed up to him a little faster than most because she saw that Archie trsted him.

40. How does your character treat people in service jobs?

Shelly does eat out much, as it takes a lot to pull her too far away from her work, but when she does she tries not to make too much of fuss about things that. Not just because she works for an Team of what most people call ecoterrorists, but because in a weird way she sympathizes with them. She knows they have probably already received lip from the customers, their coworkers, or their boss, they don’t need it from her too. She isn’t, however, going to keep it to herself if something she receives isn’t up to standard; she just won’t be rude about.

“You tell me, Courtney.” She shrugged, making sure not to use any of the usual insults she reserved for those of Team Magma. She wanted Courtney to actually listen to her or else the game she planned to play would be ruined before it even began. “Sometimes I swear when I glance at you, your eyes are green with envy! Of course, I can understand why anyone with eyes can see that at least in your current position--you're being wasted at Magma." The corners of her lips want badly to form a smile, but the didn’t. She’d have to be sure to keep a serious face, or else this will have all been for nothing.

We can totally try something! I don’t think Shelly would be straight up rude to Olympia without reason but she is kind of wary of most people outside of Aqua. I feel like with a few interactions we could make this work though!
