To say that her choice to align the Aether Foundation with the once eco terrorist Team Magma was met with unwavering support would be a lie. To say that that announcement went off without a hitch would be an even bigger lie. Loyal followers were good for only one thing and one thing only, brainless devotion. To add another cog into the mix? It would take its adjustments, but she was never one to act without reason.
Small murmurs and whispered nervousness rolling through the crowd as the small dingy carrying a shocking amount of red arrived in the Aether docks. Sullen faces, dripping with sea spray, all of them greeted with all of the hospitality that her organization could offer.
One by one the Magma employees disembarked, her green eyes following them like a hawk, a wide grin strapped to her features. “Welcome to paradise, I do apologize if the ride was a tad bumpy. The waves... They’re unpredictable and fickle. As is their nature.”
“The trip was pleasant, do not worry yourself with the comfort of my employees. I can assure you, they have been through much worse. Please use them to your disposal in any way you see fit, so long as it does not impede our agreed upon research.” A crackling voice came from one of the shaking grunt’s palms. A slightly damp screen held up for her to see the face of her new associate, Maxie, comfortably placed in his desk chair. (Far away.)
“Maxie, a shame, I was so looking forward to meeting you in person. I do hope my shipment of Pokebeans arrived without issue. A few of those and your herd should flourish without fail.” Bending slightly, she used a thin finger to wipe a bit of precipitation from the screen in front of her. The man on the other side only glancing up for a moment to grunt in response, something she would take as a ‘yes.’ Or at the very least, she didn’t care to pursue it further.
“Yes, it has been received, and much appreciated. However I am a busy man and I must go. You have been sent with one of my best, she will stand in my stead and assure the grunts I have provided you are kept in line while we complete our research and exploration of your islands. Report to her if you have any issues at all. Courtney, did you arrive safely?”
At the mention of the name, Lusamine stood up to her whole height and brushed thin strands of blonde hair out of her eyes. Watching the final individual to disembark as the woman seemed to struggle finding her legs. A tilt of her head, and a curious flash of her eyes,
“Your poor admin seems to have lost her sea legs, Sir Maxie. A bit green around the gills... even.”
