You’re not a virus! | Patch and Trekx
Patch padded out from the corner where his bedroll was. Vira insisted he sleep there, with her bedroll between him and the rest of the infected, for his own safety. She’d been there when he’d gone to sleep, but now she was nowhere to be seen. “Vira?” he called softly, rocking onto the tips of his toes, and looking around worriedly. It wasn’t that he couldn’t handle himself – he’d stayed here alone before – but the infected were restless, hissing and muttering amongst themselves. One was watching Patch like he was dinner.
“Vira!?” he called, a note of worry in his voice. A different infected turned to him with a snarl, and Patch recoiled a step, an unwilling whimper torn from him. He didn’t like this, not one bit; it was scary, and he couldn’t find Vira.
He turned to go back to his bedroll, counting on Vira’s control of them – even when she wasn’t present – to keep them away from her space, but as he did he slammed bodily against another program. A squeak escaped Patch as he flinched back.
He realized three things. First, he wasn’t infected. Two, the person he’d hit wasn’t infected either. Three, they were surrounded by restless infected.
“H-hey,” he greeted, his voice barely above a whisper. “Wh-who’re you?”
"…My name is Trekx…" he replied, looking at the timid Program. He gazed at the others, so eager to get their hands on them. He, too, had to be weary of becoming infected… but by Vira’s command, he was not to be attacked. "A friend.." he said, a small smile greeting him.
"Trekx," Patch sounded out, his voice still quiet and meek. "I-I’m Patch." And idea hit him, one so obvious he nearly hit himself. “D-do you know Vira?” That’d be why he was here, and why he was safe. Patch rocked onto his toes and back to his heels. “I can’t find her,” he added quickly.
"I know Vira. She and I come from similar situations. She offered me a home here… away from… the primitive functions." he said, "Thus, I follow her willingly."
He looked at the others and then back to Patch, “She went out to hunt. She’ll be back in a milicycle or so…”
"Similar ... situations? But you're not a virus!" Patch exclaimed in confusion, peering at Trekx's circuits. Follow? Did Vira have other non-viruses who followed her? The thought was a little hurtful to the beta, like he'd screwed up.
"A millicycle?" He sighed and scuffed his foot against the ground. "I s'pose that makes sense..."

Thanksgiving | Open RP
Patch looked around at the passing programs, his eyes showing nothing but confusion.
"But what is a Thanksgiving?"
REBLOG THIS IF YOU HAVE NEVER HAD A VALENTINE.
"Has anyone seen Sushi around? I can't find him anywhere."
"Well. I - uh - I guess that's over." Patch tried to smile right. "It was fun while it lasted...?"
OH MY GOD IT ACTUALLY PREPARED ITSELF AND TRIED AND EVERYTHING OH MY GODS.

Patch came bounding into the common room, the change catching him mid leap so he jumped as a wolf and landed as a human. He panted slightly, looking around, and blushed when he realized he wasn’t alone.
"Oh geez, I’m sorry!" He bit his lip. "I hope I didn’t startle you…"
Val spun around at the noise and tilted her head to the side, watching the boy with interest. “Just a bit, but that’s okay.” She purred her words together. “I can do that too.” She shifted to mimic his exact form as a wolf and then, shifted once more to mimic his current appearance, shooting him a wink.
Patch grinned. The purr reminded him of someone he knew, and it was a really new way for someone to talk, and besides, she could turn into a wolf -
He jumped about a foot in the air when she turned into him. Innate curiosity or no innate curiosity, Patch wasn't used to that.
"O-oh! Wow! That's - that's cool!" He smiled a little, not letting his fear show through. "A-are you ... ?"

Tremulously the woman lowered her arms, staring at the hand he offered. Her wide eyes drifted up to the face of the… the… “Wh-What are you? Sorry.” She took his hand, allowing him to help her to her feet, “I suppose that is a terribly rude question.”
Patch helped her up and did what all men did in this situation, which was to fuss around her and wonder if trying to help dust her off would get him slapped.
“It’s okay!” He grinned. “I’m a werewolf. It’s not rude, ‘cause most people around here have never seen one before. But my pack and I must be new to the area, ‘cause I don’t think anyone who’s not in my pack knows me. Or what I am. So it’s really okay.” He smiled at her. “I’m sorry for scaring you, but you don’t speak wolf, so I didn’t know what else to do.”
"You must be new? You don’t think…? Do you not know?” She stepped back, unfamiliar with the person attention which he seemed to be trying to show her, “I- I do suppose it is understandable for you to… open a path of communication. I simply wasn’t expecting you to. Pray-tell, what is a werewolf? You have told me what you are but I am quite afraid that I still do not know what that is. If she thought of him as a puppy… The woman started wondering what would happen if she simply reached out to pet him. “Oh! Do forgive my manners!” Another thought had just struck her, “I have been told that my name is Dinah. What is yours?”
Patch worried, for a moment, that he’d upset her – but apparently he hadn’t upset her that bad, because she wasn’t leaving. “A werewolf! We’re like, wolves but we’re also people. It’s kinda weird, and some people really like one form more than the other.” He grinned. “I usually stick to the other one, but since that one upsets you, I can stay this way. It’s not that bad, really, once you get used to it.” He bounced in place slightly, on the balls of his feet. “My name is Peter. Most people call me Patch, though. You can call me Patch. I like it.” He cocked his head to the side. “Dinah! Nice to meet you!”
