Thinking about it right now, during the painful moment when all hope of happily ever after is gone, I’m still certain that she will find the life and love that she seeks. I just always thought we’d get there together. But even though that won’t be so, my life will be worthwhile if all the memories we’ve shared come flooding back during the moment of her greatest happiness. Maybe then I will matter.
