PSA for Furvilla, You can only learn recipes from your own village. So donāt buy the recipe from another town off someone.
Honestly I really wish I could learn and make recipes from other towns. Like weāre able to grow seeds from other towns, whats the point if I canāt use them?
Thatās actually really disappointing, I was hoping my doctor could eventually cure sicknesses from all over eventually :/
same. tbh I still have recipes from other villages sitting in my inventory in hopes they change it.
what about potion recipes?? how will i get a dutch ad now?? :(
Youāll have to get someone in the correct village to make the potion for you.

Itās a lazy as fuck game mechanic that forces people the engage in the community to get things they need. Itās an MMO tactic and I donāt appreciate it.
True, MMOs do that a lot but hereās the thing, the way furvilla did it, it actually discourages cooperation. You villagers canāt get sick with anything that canāt be cured within your own village. You donāt need anything from another village, and the only things you can even use are the alchemy potions, costumes and botany pots. Thatās it. which are all things that are one and done kind of interactions.
If they allowed us to learn and make recipes from other villages weād have to have constant interaction to trade for seeds and other materials. and people would trade seeds and materials back and forth not just cash. Also it would create this community of generosity as people are able to help newbies from any other village. like hey my doctor has 100% chance to cure things, if a person doesnāt have a doctor or a trained doctor it would be hard for them to Ā cure anything. Or like, hey donāt have a construction person or theyāre busy? sure Iāll loan my villager out for 6 hours to build a house if you provide the materials.Ā
Letting us free reign of all recipes would give people more freedom in how they play the game because they donāt needĀ higher tier jobs, they can interact withing the community for help.
So why not contact them and offer that suggestion? Iāve been doing that and a few of my suggestions have already been implemented.
I did! it was a short email I did during my work break, but I donāt really want to annoy them with another email so soon. Iāll make sure to keep everyone updated if I get a response or it changes in game o/

This is interesting in itself Iāll put my two cents in. Note, I donāt think its a ālazyā game mechanic. Its just part of Furvilla, its not ālazyā in any way. Yes I agree that Furvilla discourages cooperation, but lets take everything with a grain of salt considering this is in beta. This opens up the potential for lore. A community/village can only support its own village. its a classic story of patriotism, however, perhaps in the future, if the option where attacking other villages becomes a game mechanic, donāt you think that by discouraging cooperation between villages, you encourage cooperation WITHIN the village? Take FR as an example. A flight can be āunitedā but I personally donāt see the common of a bond between members of the same flight. Sure we can talk about things, but exactly what role does it play? The career aspect of a village copies how a functioning village works and in order to win battles, equal or fair labour must be distributed. Every career is important, and all appealing in their own way! Added on to the fact that youāre restricted to learning your own recipes, I suppose thatās also where an alliance/truce between villages can come in. Think about it in an MMO concept. Youāre part of a clan but you require things from another clan. In order to get them, you can either raid that clan with yours, or you can barter/trade (or steal but idk thatās not an option atm). This game mechanic has a lot of potential in my opinion and I wouldnāt say its lazy AT ALL. Perhaps now it seems slow, but imagine the possibilities!
Oh I donāt think its a lazy mechanic at all! I just think that as it stands right now, the game would benefit more from village cooperation than village fighting. The way FR did the dominance system is great, the lore and the game play mesh very well. However thereās nothing flight only in FR, even the holidays are open to everyone. When furvilla put in village only items, it needed to become a cooperation game, as thatās the ONLY way to get those items. If fighting between villages becomes a mechanic it becomes so much harder for people to get limited species like the Wickerbeasts and the D.A.D. which are both village specific.
So yes I agree that since its in beta thereās so many possibilities. Iām hugely excited to see where this game goes! I just hope that if they do go the village fighting route they fix up how limited items are acquired.
From my personal gameplay and preference Iād love cooperation more than anything. Honestly Iāve already started offering my villagersā services in my friend group and have traded for many seeds from various villages. So I genuinely hope they let us free reign of recipes as I feel it would bring more to the game. I want to be able to help people without certain jobs since weāre so limited on villager slots.
No matter how the interactions between villages goes I do love the idea of more cooperation inside a village. The monster attacks if not properly protected is an interesting mechanic and creates a sense of unity, Iād love to see more of it!

A few random tips for Furvilla:
Need wood for construction but not sure what counts as wood? Anything withĀ āSlabā in its name is what you need.
Every item has a base value, found when you bring up the item details in your inventory or otherwise. This base value means you can sell this item directly from your inventory for that much. Iāve not seen a base value lower than 10 FC, so in your stall if you sell anything below 10 FC, or below the base value thatās given (some go up to 100 FC!) youāre losing money!
And before selling from your inventory, make sure you check user stalls for how much itās going for. Some stuff like slabs are going for a lot of $$$
Thereās a maintenance market where blacksmiths/construction workers can repair your stuff.
PSA for Furvilla, You can only learn recipes from your own village. So donāt buy the recipe from another town off someone.
Honestly I really wish I could learn and make recipes from other towns. Like weāre able to grow seeds from other towns, whats the point if I canāt use them?
ALRIGHT MORE IMPORTANT
You also CANāT use a house built from another village. A friend sent me 150 coral slabs to build her a house, despite me being able to use the slabs to build the house, she could not use it to expand. Shes from Oceandome and Iām from Tiger Eye Peak. So please be careful and donāt have a player from another village build a house for you.
however things like botany pots are cross village and those you CAN have other villages make for you.
what the heck does the maintenance market do
Alright so anything you build with a construction villager has durability. As seen here, the left most herbalist pot is one that comes with the job already the next two are ones made by my construction worker. The maintenance market just lets you pay others to fix your constructed things if you donāt have the villager for it or theyāre busy and canāt fix something thatās almost broken. I think weapons have durability too and need repairs however I havenāt messed around with those so Iām not sure.
do you know what steel is used for on furvilla? can i sell them if im a new account
uh I donāt actually know but Iām assuming its used in the blacksmith job. Everything you get from gathering is obtainable again so its okay to sell it. From what Iāve seen you should be selling most everything you gather until you hit 4 villager. after that you dont need fc to gain more members and you should start saving to craft stuff. specially wood/slabs. you need 150 wood/slabs to get your 5th villagerā¦. so might be wise to save that.

i found this out earlier I am hoping they change this or if you get a villager from another village you can use them to learn them
I donāt think even another village villager would help. like I know one of my friends got a wanderer that already knew a recipe from Foxbury but they got an error message when they tried to make it something likeĀ āThe villager is in the wrong village to make this recipeā

Lets play a game called how close can I get to an Aer Phantom before my paintie is rejected
alright I think Iām done here. What do you guys think of it now?
