Araminta chuckled, still keeping her eyes closed. “Is that supposed to be a warning? It doesn’t sound very frightening, just so you know. It’s almost a little inviting, actually…”
❝ y’know i tried, and that’s what mattered, ❞ she chuckled, knowing she wasn’t the most daunting person. her laughter continued as she teased, ❝ gosh, ari, get your mind out of the gutter. ❞
“I’ll give you an A for effort,” Araminta said with a soft chuckle. “I will, I will, but you have to stop doing that thing with my hair. It’s giving me ideas.”
bdenie:
❝ what? you don’t think i can be nice now? ❞ she asked, keeping a blank expression before cracking. ❝ i’m just trying to see how many freshman i can get to trust me before they annoy me. ❞
“Yeah, totally impossible,” she said, matching the other girl’s expression before her lips curled up in a grin. “There you go. There’s always a catch, I already know that about you.” After all, Araminta herself did the exact same thing sometimes. “How’s that going?”
okay i was gonna do more on all my characters, but my net is acting up rn. i’m sorry!!
i’ll be doing as much as i can before my flight tomorrow night because when i get on that plane, i’ll be losing a day over the timezone change alkfdk i’ll come back on later
gillyscott:
Of all the people Gillian expected to see in her bookstore that day, Araminta certainly wasn’t one of them. Sure, Araminta’s family owned the mall that the bookstore was located in, but Gillian always that Araminta had better things to do than to buy physical books. “Alright, okay,” Gillian said. “Though I actually have today off. I just really like the discounts they give me, so I came buy to pick up a birthday gift for my dad. What are you doing here?”
“Ah, of course,” Araminta said, just now noticing that the other girl was not in her usual work attire. She’d become far too accustomed to seeing Gillian as an employee of the bookstore whenever she set foot in it. “I’m picking out a new coffee table book. I think the ones at home have been on display long enough.”
tyridgemount:
“It was definitely a crab.” He joked back, with the same deadpan expression he had before he realized it was Araminta. “It was pretty bad. My dad decided the best way to ignore our problems was to spend the summer in our hotel in Malibu, which sounded awesome, but the catch was that they were short on summer staff, so I spent the entire time working. A whole summer in California and I was stuck waiting tables.”
“Gross. Why’d you have to give me that mental image?” Araminta said, playing along. “Okay, fine. That’s pretty bad. Not even a week to yourself just to enjoy the summer? I think you might need a party.”
marredith:
she blinked upon hearing her question, without a doubt, unintentionally imitating the blinking man meme. ❝ about, ❞ she really didn’t want to say kiss, ❝ the party. ❞ araminta couldn’t have been so drunk she didn’t remember. mars figured she, at least, knew about their interaction before she woke up as she didn’t really question why mars was around her. ❝ i just need some clarity, i guess. ❞
She kept her expression still, studying the other girl’s expression. It seemed straightforward enough. She didn’t think it likely that Mars came asking about this with any ulterior motive, but at the same time, the question confuses her slightly. “Was I unclear about anything? I’d say you were the one giving mixed signals.”
“New year, new you? If people keep failing with their actual new year’s resolutions, what makes you think you’ll succeed with a senior year rebrand? I’m willing to bet that you’ll fall into old habits in no time.”
indelicvte:
❝ honestly, same, ❞ she was happy with how they were now, but she could feel herself on the verge of falling asleep. she shifted her head so she was facing araminta better and noticed her eyes were shut. jini found herself smiling as she appreciated how calm she looked. ❝ careful, i can’ be very convincing. ❞
Araminta chuckled, still keeping her eyes closed. “Is that supposed to be a warning? It doesn’t sound very frightening, just so you know. It’s almost a little inviting, actually…”
Most people wouldn’t dare go near their place of work when they were off-duty, but Gillian was different. Sure, being a cashier at a bookstore was about as glamorous as any other minimum-wage job, but Gillian genuinely loved being surrounded by books, and the substantial employee discount she got at the store was a pretty good incentive. She walked along one of the shelves, staring at the spines until she bumped into someone at the end of the row. “Holy crap, I am so sorry. Sometimes I just get so distracted I just…” she said. “Are you okay?”
Araminta was on her tippy-toes, trying to reach for a book that was a little high on the shelf for her. Just a little more—if she’d been in the right shoes, she wouldn’t have hesitated going en pointe. She was too focused on trying to get the book that she failed to notice the other girl, and at the small collision, she let out a small yelp. Araminta stumbled back but kept her balance, straightening her clothes as she regained her composure. “I’m alright, but you probably shouldn’t go around bumping into customers.”
“If you’re planning on asking me how my summer was, I suggest you turn around and bother someone else.” He mumbled, not bothering to look up at the person who approached him.
“Somebody’s cranky today,” Araminta said, taking the seat across from him. “What crawled up your butt and died, mhm?” She rested her chin on her hand, looking at her fellow Windsor. “It couldn’t have been that bad.”
hello i know i’ve said it a few times that i’m on vacay and i still am and that’s why i’m replying slower, but there are so many new faces here, i wanna plot with you all! i play araminta, seth, tristan, and maritza. please like this or hmu for plotting!
mars needed to speak with araminta. she couldn’t get their kiss out of her head and she figured it was cause she needed to know why it happened. originally, she figured it was out of spite but now she wasn’t so sure. she always assumed the worst when dealing with the windsors and she hated that about herself. maybe she wanted proof that she was wrong so she a part of her would know that not all windsors were bad, or maybe she wanted to know she was right so she wouldn’t feel bad about her judgement. either way, she needed some sort of explanation. it was break and she was on her way to the usual spot she hung out when she managed to see araminta exiting her class. it was the perfect opportunity since she wasn’t with her friends, and mars walked over. once she was close enough, she asked, ❝ can we talk? ❞
@araminta-park
Since school started, Araminta’s been avoiding Marredith Xiu even if she would never admit it out loud. She didn’t know what happened. She thought she’d gained an upper hand on her, but the next thing she knew, she was waking up on the other girl’s lap. She realized she must have blacked out, but she couldn’t wrap her head around why Mars would stay to take care of her after everything she’s done to the girl. She’d left in a rush. It was embarrassing. But now Mars was right in front of her, and Araminta didn’t want to give out hints that anything was wrong. She crossed her arms as she looked at the girl. “What about?”
akwcns:
“It’s already happened to me,” he corrects. “And I wasn’t going to willingly put myself in a situation where this would happen again.” Admittedly, things would have been easier for him had he agreed to become a Windsor. His friendship with Araminta wouldn’t have gone down the drain, he would be free to love Lysander without having to hide but he isn’t the type of person to look down on people, to go out of his way to terrorize people, to use others for a fake royal status. “You were one, as much as Sophia is one now, except you don’t realize because your ring leader was a master manipulator.” He can’t see them ever seeing eye to eye on the matter and perhaps he shouldn’t have brought up Dante but all this needs to be said. Holding up onto unspoken issues would only hurt more on the long term.
It’s taken him a while to admit to himself the situation wasn’t all Araminta’s fault. He shut her out of his life without giving her a chance to explain herself. In truth, up until Alek met Marredith and Wesley, two of the most if not the genuine souls has ever had the fortune of meeting, he didn’t think it was possible people could get attached to him or want to befriend him for the person rather the title. Not even Araminta. There was always a small voice in his head whispering to him sooner or later she’d drop him and he was right. Her actions had only fueled his deep issues with abandonment but he’s working on letting go of the past and healing his scarred heart but he still has a long way to go.
Hearing the tears in her voice earns a reaction that isn’t expected, a wave of sympathy crashes through him and his anger deflates entirely. With an exasperated breath, directed at himself for caving in so easily, he backtracks and gathers Araminta in his arms for a hug. “I’m sorry too,” he speaks after a beat of silence and doesn’t let go of her. “For everything. For shutting you out, for all the terrible things I said to you and about you afterwards, for the countless conversations that went in circle,” he laughs lightly finally breaking the hug and giving the other a small smile. Things are far from being resolved but it’s a start.
“You didn’t know it was going to happen again, not like that, especially since you already knew better. You could have made it work in your favor,” Araminta tries to counter, though she realizes it is pretty much a moot point now. Too much has happened and they couldn’t really change the past. She frowns when he talks about Dante. Sure, she was aware how manipulative the guy was, and she’d also come to resent him some time before he passed, but in some ways, he’d still been a friend to her. In hindsight, Alek would have probably been a better friend to her, but Dante had lifted all the Windsors up one way or another. “So what was the plan? Did you just want the both of us to be outcasts complete with all the trouble that brings?”
Perhaps she’d been too focused on winning, and at the time, winning meant being a Windsor, being the cream of the crop. She was aware that Alek was important outside of high school, but he’d been branded public enemy number one and his identity still remained a secret. Araminta knew she wouldn’t have wanted to put up with the shit they threw at him, but she didn’t want to expose his secret either because she knew what it meant to him, even if it could have saved him from much of the consequences of his choices. She’d wondered again and again whether there was something else she could have done to create a win-win situation, but eventually she had to stop letting it bother her, especially when it seemed as though Alek had already decided to shut her out. She thought for a while that she was successful, but clearly, it’s never stopped bothering her after all.
When Alek turns back and pulls her in for a hug, she sniffles, tears rolling down her cheeks a little more freely. “I missed you so much,” she admits, burying her face in his chest as she hugged him back. She feels a bit of relief, returning the small smile as she pulls back. “I probably deserved some of that, I guess. I haven’t been a great friend to you.”

lazy days were a common occurance in jini’s life. it was often hectic and she needed days to merely relax. so, she laid by araminta, gently playing with the other’s hair and just enjoying her company. ❝ no problem, i’m happy to you called me over, ❞ she smiled softly, glancing over. there was a lot going on recently and she was just glad araminta felt comfortable enough to invite her over. ❝ did you want to do anything else or just lay down? i need to prepare myself if we’re getting up, ❞ she laughed, maybe a little too comfortable.
She smiled, enjoying the way Jini played with her hair. Somehow, it was always soothing, and slowly, she closed her eyes. “I could stay like this for a bit, honestly.” She chuckled. “If you want to get up, you’re going to have to make me.”
