A sigh filtered past his plump lips as his fingertips brush along her face. “I know how hard this must be, but I have a duty to the Republic. I thought you knew this was going to be a challenge.”

“I know. And I do. I shouldn’t have even asked.”She offered him a smile, Anakin, her hero, running off to lead armies and destroy enemies to keep the galaxy safe. “Sometimes, I feel like you’re far to selfless. But I suppose that’s the Jedi way, right?”

    IT BROKE his heart to hear her say those words but they both know he had a duty to The Republic. For now. He could leave The Order ( if he wanted ) to be with her without the secrets, to fully be with her. To be dedicated to just her. But he NEEDED to be a Jedi. To make his mom proud. To make Obi-Wan proud. “You know I would have to if my mission calls for it.” Anakin murmurs.

She breathed a deep sigh, and nodded. “I know, it’s not fair though. That I have to share you with a world that I can’t be apart of.” The idea was painful, that she could lose him, and no one would even have to tell her that he was gone. The idea that one day he could just never come back, ad she’d be left wondering.

Hands clenched so tightly at his sides he was sure that if he didn’t have his leather gloves on his fingernails would be digging in so deeply in his flesh to the point of bleeding. The words sliced at him, burned him. Made him feel like he was lesser and worthless. He couldn’t protect his mom, or save his mom. He couldn’t protect his own flesh and blood. So what made him even think for one second that Anakin could protect Arasleyen?

    “YOU UNDERESTIMATE me, my dearest.” Anakin practically snaps at the girl as he unclips his cloak, the heavy material falling to the ground. Immediately Anakin grabbed his lightsaber, switching it on with ease as he swung it, red-orange irises locked on Ras. “Make your move.”

Her move, hadn’t he realized that she’d already made it. Shadows cast by the glow of lights, gripped him, “Why don’t you put that away, darling. There’s no need for such hostility.” Says the one who started the hostility herself.

Darkness illuminated the area around her, like an aura. Little whispers of smoke exploded from her, eyes glowing black as oil and crude broken wings exploded from her back, and jagged horns from her head. A cruel grin errupted across her features, “I know I could kill you. I also know that you don’t have it in you to kill me first.”

You’re not in love. You’re not in love because being in love with him is dangerous and stupid and reckless. You’re not in love because that’s not what you do, or who you are. You’re not in love but, sometimes, he fucking smiles at you just like that and you realize that you don’t see him smiling enough but every time you do it’s like the clouds are parting and making way for the sun and you’ve never seen anything so fucking beautiful in your entire life. You’re not in love and you don’t tell him that but, sometimes, it must show anyway because he reaches out for you without thinking twice about the weight of his hand on your arm and without fear that you’ll pull away. You’re not in love. (That never fooled him anyway.)

   HE KEEPS his head snuggled into the crook of her neck as he leaned down to place her feet back on the ground. After another several moments of this Anakin pulls his head back to look at her, bringing a hand up to cup her face as he placed a sweet kiss to her lips. This only linger seconds before Anakin pulled back. “How are you, my love? ”

“I’m better now that you’re home.”She murmured, offering him a smile and a soft laugh. Her heart rate seemed to calm so much as compared to the way it had been the last few days. She felt grounded, brought back to the hearth beneath her feet. “Please don’t leave me again.” She knew she couldn’t ask that. But the words fell out before she had a chance to rethink them.

   ANAKIN HAD quickly dismissed himself from Master Windu’s presence & took off towards where Arasleyen stood by one of the large pillars. As soon as the male reached the blonde his arms encircled around her, lifting her up off from the floor & twirled her around. “Force, how I have missed you! ” Anakin murmurs into the crook of her neck where he had buried his head, inhaling her scent to calm his nerves. He had been away for several days settling conflict in the Outer Rim.

His own scent brought a relaxing calmness over her. She had heard rumors, so many rumors about what was going on in the Outer Rim. He was dead, then he wasn’t. Then she heard that he’d died again. The whole thing only served to twist her nerves further. “The Spirits will always find a way to bring you home to me.”She spoke, a hand embedding into his hair.
