What do endogenics really want?
āTo demedicalize DID/OSDD. Both need to stay in the DSM and ICD and be taken seriously and treated properly.
ā
Plurality to remain demedicalized and be properly seen and supported as such. Plurality as in, the state of having more than one mind in your head. Itās not inherently pathological and shouldnāt be seen as such by anyone.Ā
ā To be in DID/OSDD-only spaces
ā
To be allowed spaces of our own without being harassed just for existing
ā
To be allowed shared spaces, separate from DID-only ones, with those who *want* to be in a shared space, without being harassed just for sharing space
ā To use terms that donāt belong to us
ā
Ā To be able to continue to use the termĀ āsystemā the way we have for literally decades because it is not and never has been an exclusively DID term. It has always been for all people who experience having others in their head, and was originally used as a substitute forĀ āperson with MPD/DIDā because not everyone in the community back then had, needed, wanted, or fit the criteria for a diagnosis - but all were plural systems regardless.
ā
To be treated with decency and respect
ā To be accused of faking just for experiencing plurality differently, or harassed in other ways
ā People thinking that every system works the same or that advice that works for one will work or be good for all
ā
Ā To be able to share spaces where that advice and help can be freely shared among different kinds of systems because while it might not be good for everyone, itās always good for some, regardless of system origin or diagnostic status
ā People assuming that endogenic = never had any trauma.Ā
ā People thinking that just because we have trauma, we must be traumagenic. Thatās for us to determine for ourselves.
ā
Ā The right to self-determine whatās right and true and what works for us, without being harassed for doing things some people assume are mistakes/going to hurt in the long run/whatever. Freedom and independence are nothing if it doesnāt also include the freedom to choose, and the freedom to make mistakes. And remember, since systems work differently, what may be harmful for you may be very beneficial for others, and vice versa.
