Ravenclaw Ramblings No. 10
Ravenclaws tend to lose track of time. When we're not talking about our adventures or whatever is on our mind, anything in reality isn't even in our scope at the moment. We're not necessarily scatterbrained but we are scattered, thinking of one thing for moment then dissecting a small part of that thing and ending up in an encyclopedia rabbit hole looking up dozens of unrelated topics and... What was I saying again?
OWLs
During owls there are two types of students.
Hufflepuff
A Hufflepuff will be a surprise Outstanding because they take it slow and easy. Ravenclaws may be seen constantly around these quiet intellectuals. They are the more Introverted puffs.
The next is the Hufflepuff who gives their all but fails to hit the mark. They do not cry or panic but they do indeed try harder next time.
Gryffindor
A Gryffindor during OWLS will become a Hermione Granger overnight and dazzle their professors. But they may also boast about their scores. They make the Ravenclaws nervous.
The second type of Gryffindor wings it and succeeds. I did not say they received a great mark however.
Ravenclaw
Now to the Ravenclaws. Can you tell I’m biased as one? We are also of two types during OWLS. Some of us will study hard but to tea and music that is soothing. Expect the Ravenclaw Common Room to sound like a symphony hall. We generally have high marks.
The second type of Ravenclaw has a lot in common with a Slytherin. This Ravenclaw never worries nor studies but always knows the answers and passes. Seen as a know-it-all but in truth is a bit of a class clown. Gryffindors love this student.
Slytherin
Now to Slytherin who was saved for last as they are the best at ambition. The first type is like a Ravenclaw, only more frantic and likely to stay up all night hyped up on coffee. They actually may study in the kitchen with Hufflepuffs for tea and caffeine. They are the most ambitious of students often matching any Ravenclaw. Of course all but Hufflepuff assumes they have cheated.
Lastly, the second type of Slytherin during OWLS has a clever way to study. They open up and let the smartest into their inner circle. Each day with enchanted paper they take snippets from the Ravenclaw Common Room by way of paper cranes. Quite lovely really, these calm the students and deliver the correct notes to study in an elegant fashion. Most students do intercept these of course. The Ravenclaws sometimes write in the wrong answers. Slytherin responds by earning highest marks and the house cup… Again.

What advice would you give to a hatstall to help them figure out their house?
Ask yourself what matters most to you. Take quizzes if you want something quantitative. And relax and know yourself. We all have bits of every house inside us! I hope this helps.
Ravenclaw Ramblings No. 9
The benefit to being a Ravenclaw is that we can partake in the dark arts with inclinations to jinxes, are smart enough to bend the rules and jump through loopholes without getting caught and we can look both crafty and innocent while doing it. What!? You mistook my daydreaming for empty headed-ness? I was planning my next scheme. Checkmate Slytherin, your stealth game is low.
Ravenclaw Ramblings No. 8
It’s no secret that the Ravenclaw common room is fit for scholars and daydreamers alike. But did you know that its ceiling is an actual live projection of the celestial Northern sky? You’ll find more Ravenclaws in Astronomy class than any other since we tend to literally stargaze and have our heads in the clouds.

Muggleborn Ravenclaws tend to excel due to the discovery of being born into a world of magic. No student will work harder, study more thoroughly, or recite and remember more clearly than a muggle-born Ravenclaw. Because when you are given the chance of a lifetime you don’t want a clever idea to get you killed or worse: expelled.

Person: “Why are you staring at me?”
Ravenclaw: (intense stare)
Person: *claps*
Ravenclaw: “What!?” They say shocked
Person, “Why were you staring at me?”
Ravenclaw: “Was I? I was lost in a deep thought. If I stare in your direction I am not necessarily staring at you, but my mind just decided to focus and my eyes didn’t know where to look so I looked somewhere familiar, your eyes.”
Person: *hugs the Ravenclaw student* “Don’t change!”

A Ravenclaw more than any other will be happy to receive books as a gift. Not all Ravenclaws are interested in reading. Some of us find it a chore. For those Ravenclaws who find books nice, but a chore to read we instead would rather be more hands on than sitting down with a book, or at least listening to one read aloud.
