...Hey, what's up?
celxs replied to your post: …I haven’t heard from my sister in a...
♠ } : ‘Oh? Naegi-kun has a sister? …Pray tell, is she also a Hope’s Peak student?’
No--no, she's..hah. She doesn't have a talent or anything either.. It'd be pretty crazy if we both got in..plus she's still in junior high.
...I haven't heard from my sister in a while, this is odd.
dormir || naegi & kamukura
Aside from himself, Naegi is most restless non-sleeper Kamukura ever encountered. Notwithstanding that he hadn’t actually been near another person while they slept since childhood.
…But that was a Lilliputian detail.
Naegi keeps tossing and turning in his bed, which creaks in response, and occasionally his limbs flump against the blankets in his discomfort. Somehow it doesn’t hinder Kamukura from reading. Oblivious to Naegi’s inner turmoil, he continues to trace the pad of his index finger along the text as he scans the page.
Be that as it may, he doesn’t make much progress. It couldn’t have been more than a few minutes when Naegi turns toward him and speaks up.
But he didn’t mind the interruption. In fact, he anticipated it.
"It’s Der Mann Ohne Eigenschaften,” he says, glancing up at the wide green eyes that looked his way, curious and obliging. ”In Japanese, that would be The Man Without Qualities.”
He’s slips his thumb in between the pages so he won’t lose his place as he holds it up to show him the cover. It was rather plain, with the title and the name of the author against a blue and red block design. The colors are dulled, the binding is worn, and the edges are frayed from years gone by.
'Well..it definitely doesn't look like English' the brunet assured himself, so the novel the boy sitting on the floor held looked less intimidating than it already did.
Naegi looked at the book with slight wonder, propping himself up on his elbows against the mattress. He had half a mind to ask what language the title was in, as it sounded harsh and not one he's ever seen before (or so he thought?), but found he was more concerned about the fact the piece of literature looked horribly... bland. As if it were assigned school reading. But, if this were to be the case, he figured he could forgive Kamukura for putting himself through it.
He wondered what kind of class would assign such a book. Not that he was particularly interested in the course itself; it so he could avoid it in his coming years. Hopefully it wasn't a required course..
"It...i-it sounds.. pretty depressing," he mused, frowning ever so slightly.
His eyes trailed to meet the other's, question clearly on his face. However, he restrained himself from drilling him for the 'why's', in case it wasn't assigned reading and Kamukura was immersing himself within the novel voluntarily.
Instead, the younger quickly continued on and tried to redeem his opinion, "..you seem into it, though," he pointed, "..is it ok so far?"

She sat down next to him and returned the smile that they gave her and leaned her back against the trunk of the tree. As he pointed to the backpack she followed his finger to where he was directing it to and looked at the bag for a moment.
"Hm, no it isn’t mine. I generally don’t carry a bag besides occasionally a messenger bag to keep important files in."
She looked back at Naegi and then up into the leaves of the tree.
"So, what brings you out here today, Naegi-san?"
He watched her as she sat down and rested beside him, maybe he should take it up to the lost and found later on?
"Nothing, honestly--I was planning on trying to start some assignments while I was here.." Naegi trailed off, shaking his head. At this point, getting up from underneath the shade or doing anything besides breathing in the cool air seemed ludicrous.
"I usually come here for a couple minutes after class has ended but..I don't have that much to do.. I can wait until later on to finish." he sighed.
..Something about being indoors made him itch, and he wasn't rushing to get back inside. "Mm, what about you?"
here comes the shame ; naegi & mukuro
It is all too late when she realizes that after dinner is ambiguous, considering most nights she ducks out of dinner to lock herself in the garden or the library. There are more important things for her to do than eat, even though she knows that she needs to do so to survive. It isn’t as though she starves herself, no, she’s accustomed to portions that she’s received during her time with Fenrir, so when she enters the large cafeteria that threatens to suffocate her, her appetite (little as it already is) flies out the window. Today is no different, except that she’s given Naegi a meeting time so that they may study together. As soon as dinnertime comes, Mukuro buries herself within the confines of the library. The tall walls loom overhead and give the impression of toppling at any second if too much time is invested staring at them. Getting here early allows her to claim the table furthest from the door, which will make it harder for Naegi to find her, but will promise that they won’t be bothered by anyone else who decides to take advantage of the quiet atmosphere. She wonders if there is a no food policy in the library as she pulls out a bag of chips. A half an hour passes with no sign of Naegi, so she leaves to wander around. If she had the patience to sit there and wait, then she would, but staring at letters carved into the spine of a book is only interesting so long as you are invested in the act. Mukuro is not invested in the arbitrary act, so she meanders through hallways with quiet steps. Every once and awhile someone passes her, but she looks past them. Fifty minutes have passed and she’s exchanging pocket money for a black coffee.
After the purchase is made, Mukuro hurriedly returns to the nearly empty library and settles back at her table. Her bag of chips remains opened and half-eaten alongside her textbooks that are stacked upon each other. She sighs, placing the coffee cup onto the table to cool down before she risks her first sip. An hour and twenty minutes have passed, now the soldier is resting with her forehead against the oak table. Waiting for Naegi makes her fingers itch; she’s never been one for waiting patiently in any circumstance. When the door of the library finally does open, her head rises from the table too quickly and she feels dizzy for a fleeting moment as her eyes catch sight of the familiar hoodie. To signal him over, she simply raises her hand in a gesture that could appear to be a wave.
He remembered at the last possible second some old saying to recite to Ikusaba; the journey to your destination is always stranger than --..or was it, 'better' ? He's quite sure the adjective is, in fact, 'stranger' as it would explain why simply attempting to enter the library on time was akin to travelling through Dante's Inferno, except he was the dammed soul that was forced to venture through it.
Having to explain how in the world he managed to arrive well past their designated meeting time was simply out of the question, and is only grateful that she didn't seem annoyed or angry at him, but he had the sinking feeling this would be the last time he would be allowed to make plans. It wasn't that he wasn't a punctual person; he got up early in order to have plenty of time to eat breakfast and make it to his very first class. He tried to make sure he didn't spend too much time in between to get to the next. More often than not he arrived early to events; it was just today simply decided to bite him where the sun didn't shine shortly after he and his new study partner departed earlier.
Starting with the mysterious disappearance of not one, but all of his textbooks, along with his knapsack. Naegi Makoto managed to somehow leave his belongings somewhere in the school and spent the majority of what was supposed to be dinner and studying trying to locate it, practically searching the entire campus to do so. He swore, he probably saw more of Kibougamine than he had all year long; he accidentally walked in on a chess club meeting, of all things, during his search. This was also the first time he step foot into the pool area while there were real life people in it instead of random toys and the occasional notebook paper floating around the 3ft line.
By the time he reached the library on the second floor, he used the last bit of his strength to heave open the heavy, wooden doors and had to catch himself from simply dropping all of his materials to the ground--he was already aching and how embarrassing would it be to be out of breath from sprinting up the one flight of stairs to reach her. He tried his best to keep his composure (as ridiculous as it looked; his hair looked as if it was ran through a blow-dryer, and the textbooks in his arms seemed as if making the kid carry them all on his own was a form of cruel and unusual punishment.)
Somehow, he managed to give an apologetic smile as he finally, finally, sat his materials in front of the soldier and took a seat in front of her. Sweaty, disoriented still from the sudden landing, practically wheezing; but he was physically there.
He bit the inside of his lip before he cleared his throat, and rubbed the back of his neck near where one of the shoulder straps sat.
"..heh.. super sorry about the wait, Ikusaba-san."
He figured then taking everything probably wasn't the smartest move now..there was no way they would cover everything in one sitting, and now they had much less available time to go over work that Mukuro intended on doing first. Sure, he needed the help, but this was mostly for her sake and to try and get her a head start while a real tutor wasn't there. Naegi made a note to ask her for her phone number later, if she had one. Next time, if something screwed him over he could warn her ahead of schedule.
The other stifled a short laugh afterwards, "I hope I didn't miss too much," he joked, "Did you decide on what you wanted to start first while you were waiting? If not, I have a couple ideas about..making a schedule in the meantime."
...I seemed to have missed a lot, huh ?
sorry i've been inactive; there's a few things going on my end and i havent been feeling too great lately
*i might publish my drafts later on though no guarantee sorry again ;;
Alright, then we can meet up after dinner…?
Or beforehand if that works better for you. Also, if you have a suggestion of studying elsewhere, we could try that. We could start with math or… science. Whatever you’d like.
After dinner sounds better, and..I don't really have anywhere else in mind that we could go. The cafe doesn't stay open late, that I do know; the library is our best bet.
..mm, I don't have any preferences either..b-but maybe I can just..bring some math over since you said that first. Also, history maybe? We do have the same classes and if I remember correctly there's a test on Thursday..
We don't have to figure out everything now, we can meet up throughout the week if we miss anything tonight.

Kirigiri roamed through the courtyard to get some fresh air. She didn’t see the sun much because of her work, and it showed in her fair complexion. However, she didn’t mind it. The sun was warm and bright against her lavender hair as she slowly walked a circle around the area.
'There's so many people out today… Well, I suppose that's normal, it does feel nice out here.'
She continued to think to herself as she silently strolled about, until she saw a small, yet familiar figure heading towards the large oak tree. “Ah, Naegi-san is out here today too.” With the cool breeze running through her hair and brushing against her skin, she began walking towards the tree.
As she approached him, his eyes were closed, and he looked peaceful, but like he was still stressed and bothered.
She stood near his feet and looked down at his resting figure. “Good afternoon, Naegi-san, may I join you?”
"--! Oh ! Ah..?"
His eyes snapped open immediately upon hearing...Kirigiri-san? The smaller blinked twice and had a fleeting moment of confusion, seeing the lavender-clad girl above him.
Naegi didn't see her often outside of class...except maybe in the cafe not too far away, up to her nose in work and files upon files. He was a little surprised that the detective knew his name, let alone approached him and asked to sit along with him. Not that he didn't mind, it was just..non routine. Something that he figured wouldn't actually happen, unless something horrible went wrong within her daily schedule of afterschool first, to the cafe next for a coffee, then to the library for the remainder of the evening, then back to the dorms to repeat everything over again.
..nothing seemed to be wrong, in fact she looked extremely pleasant.
Automatically, he nodded and shifted his body to allow her space; tensing up ever so slightly, then offered her a warm smile.
"Kirigiri-san, uh," He pointed to the backpack that was seated previously beside him, "I-I'm guessing that isn't yours then.."
You… would do that? You wouldn’t mind?
I have a few things I need to look over, so… I mean… we could.
I’ve been holed up in the library all day… so… If you wanted, then we could go the library. I won’t take up too much of your time.
Of course I wouldn't mind, and..don't worry about taking too much time, I need all of the time studying that I can get. Seriously.
The library sounds alright..I-I'm available whenever, Ikusaba-san. Just let me know what you want to work on first and when and I'll try bringing some things to help us out.
highschoolhamster i changed my url ! ! it means sapling in spanish,

....i'll be finishing up replies soon as soon as i find a theme for this blog i swear to god im
I’ll approach Kirigiri; let him handle things.
I could handle Ishimaru-kun, surely. I just need to know if he can handle me.
Heh..I'm really sorry, Ikusaba-san; I would definitely tutor you but we're...pretty much in the same boat to be honest. But ..it wouldn't hurt if you just had someone to study with in the meantime, y'know?
Just simple things like quizzing each other over some of the other subjects. ..I-If you ever wanted to, that is ! I usually study by myself and that hasn't been working too well.
Do… you think Ishimaru-kun would be willing?
My last two tutors said I was… uncomfortable to be around… Plus my work load is so heavy. Being with Fenrir put me back.
If I remember correctly, he's been a part of the sessions they hold in the bookstore on the weekends for tutoring. Ishimaru-kun probably wouldn't turn you down at all. He can explain things fairly well, actually !
But..eh, he's...a little loud and overbearing, but he's no one that you can't handle.

The sun greeted him after his final class of the day.
Life inside of the school doesn't particularly make him feel isolated from the rest of the world, as most of the amenities of life were already presented readily for the Ultimates; a line of shops, an up to date bookstore, even a cafe and, of course the courtyard smack in the middle of everything. There were a few picnic tables and side benches for the students to sit and converse in the acre or so of preserved nature.
However the massive oak tree was far more appealing to him, as it had the perfect combination of shade and sun peeking through its leaves, creating marvelous patterns on the grass around him. Someone had already came up with the same idea, but the trunk was wide enough for two, maybe three people. Before he made himself comfortable (or tried to) he heaved the other backpack out of the way (god there must've been bricks in the thing) and plopped down.
Naegi placed his knapsack behind his back as a rest and put his hands behind his head, running a hand through his hair before inhaling and consecutively exhaling the crisp, autumn air. The sun was warm, the air was cool, the sky was clear, it was as if the day was made for him. As if it were a simple reward for enduring hours upon hours of being stuck in classroom after classroom that was as stuffy as the next.
He initially intended on pulling out the monster of a textbook from his bag and begin working on finishing an outline for literature, but the shade beckoned him to stay and the rustling of leaves lulled him to close his eyes and bask for a minute or two in serenity. It was..admittedly a little uncomfortable, but it was better than going right back to the dorms to spend the rest of the night doing god-knows-what. 'What was the homework again ? I should..probably look that up'
....The only thing that disturbed him was the crunching of leaves not too far away from him, a shadow passing over his small stature.
