today is Nov. 15. the FCC, under chairman Ajit Pai, will not listen to the public despite millions of comments in support of net neutrality. They are going to try their hardest to kill net neutrality, which in turn will kill the internet, which in turn will help eradicate democracy. it won’t just affect Americans, it has the potential to affect the entire internet, something we ALL use daily. you can bet your ass other countries will see america doing this, and use it as an excuse to do it in their own countries.

this is what buying a plan without net neutrality looks like there:

you have to pay MORE for features you’re already guaranteed to have under net neutrality. and in america, you already know how expensive everything is.

democrats AND republicans both want net neutrality. advocacy groups in touch with congress have said that if your members of congress receive calls from you, they are more encouraged and more likely to take action to stop Pai’s plan to gut net neutrality. after Nov. 22, it will be MUCH HARDER to convince your member of congress.

Here’s my quick, major-spoiler-free review of Koe No Katachi!

It seems like a really difficult undertaking to convey pure emotion without words, but Koe No Katachi pulled this off perfectly. From sign language to the vibrations in a cup of hot chocolate to her appreciation for the unironic beauty of nature and innocence (like the koi fish in the river), Shoko develops an understanding of how empathy and emotion transcends the spoken word. At the climax of the most powerful scene in the movie, Shoya calls Shoko by her first name for the very first time, and she can’t even hear it (I️ interpreted this as the ultimate result of how the two share such a similar perspective, but fail to fully understand each other until the end of the movie). The minimalist soundtrack suits the mood perfectly throughout the movie, and GODDAMN are the visuals gorgeous (and fitting, too). I️’ll definitely have to watch it a few more times to catch all the details, which are often very subtle (like when Kawai tricks Shoko into singing too early). But I️ want to keep this brief, so...

TL;DR: it’s beautiful and you should watch it right now.

So EA apparently just lowered the cost of heroes but also lowered by the same proportion the rewards you get. So basically, heroes are cheaper to buy using real money, but nothing else changed. Did they just deceive us by “admitting” they were deceiving us and then doing something that they knew fixed nothing?

Look at TF2 and CSGO. Free game and cheap game. Everything unlocked except cosmetics. Valve is sitting on bus loads of cash.

Look at Breath of the Wild. Same price as Battlefront but so much more content it’s ridiculous. And the DLC is fairly priced and adds to an already substantial game.

Look at Overwatch. Everything can be unlocked purely by playing, but so many people still buy Loot Boxes. And the game is continuously updated! Plus, the devs are some of the most humble people ever.

EA, look at Titanfall, your own game. An amazing campaign, a seriously fun multiplayer online mode, and cosmetics you can make a ton of money off. And it’s fairly priced.

Imagine if you had to pay an extra 40 dollars to get half of the Overwatch maps or to unlock two of the divine beasts. Wake up EA.

Okay actually fuck EA. Just wanted to spread the Battlefront 2 boycott movement over on Tumblr. Yes, the devs themselves deserve money for making what is a truly beautiful game. But this micro-transaction thing has gone too far, and we’re just spoon-feeding the pocketbooks of people who don’t deserve anything—the greedy people at EA who thought it was okay to do what they did to their playerbase. Sorry for the rant; this whole thing just needs to stop.
