Yvette Monreal Talks Rambo: Last Blood and Stallone
LOURDES & JERICHO:
Jeri’s eyes weren’t actually physically capable of morphing into stars, but when she looked at Lourdes Buchanan she felt an awful lot like she was meeting her favorite celebrity. Lourdes was the kind of person Jeri longed to be - effortlessly and truly confident, capable of getting men to do things for her even before getting her beauty involved, successful, and well off. So, so not poor, something that Jeri had wanted so badly her mouth metaphorically watered at the very thought of it. Sitting here at the blonde’s table, the lights of the city winking outside her large windows, Jeri was kind of in adoration mode.
“It’s nothing too cool, I just heard about this club downtown that I hadn’t hit yet…” she’d heard about it from the man she’d most recently become a sidepiece of, a stock trader who didn’t spend as much money on her as she liked but was still awfully pretty to look it. Jeri and Lorenzo had bumped into Lourdes and her on-again-off-again, not boyfriend type person Nick during a fancy party and had exchanged real contact info. She felt honored just to be in her presence. “You have a - a personal stylist?” The dark haired girl breathed, adoration stoking up a tick higher. “I mean I would love for you to come, if you want to.” Inwardly, Jeri felt kind of stressed about the fact that it wouldn’t be cool enough for Lourdes, but the idea was on the table now.
Lourdes never really thought of herself as uber wealthy, or someone worth being fawned over. She did know she had something of a commanding presence, but it was only because Lourdes was born larger than life, with a personality to boot. And she wouldn’t be who she was if she was collecting friends from literally every corner of the city, even in some dingy club downtown that played awful music, but didn’t really care what kind of drinks you ordered at your age. And maybe, just a maybe, there was a part of Lourdes that liked the adoration in Jericho’s eyes for her. It wasn’t malicious, and it wasn’t something the blonde was hankering for; it was a welcome bonus from being stuck in Newport with snooty bitches who knew her ass didn’t belong there.
She shrugged, “I do! He does my outfits for the day, I give him a shoutout and a generous check, and he’s making bank till next month. Whoever says social media doesn’t pay your bills is not working the right crowds.” The blonde hadn’t even turned as she riffled through outfits, ranging from disco-themed to downright slutty, with the slits higher than the sky and necklines plunging. “I love clubs downtown. O-m-g, do you wanna invite the boys? Or is it a girls only night? Because Nick and I...are off again, this week. It’s in the hot and cold that keeps them coming back.”
TRIXIE & LAKE:
It was still crazy to him that Lake was here, after so long swearing off any attachments that could hurt him like his dad did, but Trixie Wyler had made it under his skin without him having a choice in the matter. He couldn’t pinpoint the moment when he’s started to look forward to the next moment he could steal with her, when she became the only woman in his thoughts when he was alone, but it had happened, and they were here, and he’d logged into his facebook for the first time in fucking months to change his status to in a relationship.
This whole thing was way too fucking new for someone of his age, but he couldn’t help that. Nowhere to go but forward.
Reaching down, Lake went straight for Trixie’s ass, lifting her up and letting his door slam shut behind her. Pushing a hair into her short dark locks, he let the other hand hold her up as he kissed the bejesus out of her, all insistent lips and playfully biting teeth. When he felt satisfied, he pulled back and fake snapped at her ear, the look in his eyes soft. “Missed you, Trix.” His deep voice went through his chest as he spoke, timed with the full cheek grab of her ass. “I made ya dinner. Though you can probably smell it.”
Trixie had always thought herself too pragmatic for romance, and for partners. She has always been living on the edge, tiptoeing at the line of living and surviving. So being in a relationship was a flavour she hadn’t tried before. Not like it mattered, because more than loving him, she trusted Lake. If he asked her to jump, she would only ask how high. The little update hadn’t gone unnoticed by her, but labels were still a thing the woman was getting used to, and for now, she just wanted him.
There really was no other way to look, but forward and onward.
She yelped in surprise when she felt her weight being lifted, hands gripping tight to the fabric of his t-shirt and they kissed, in abandon and desperation. She wanted him so bad, she hadn’t even realised how much, just wanting more and more of him, till he pulled back and she found herself reluctant to let go, urging her eyes open. “I missed you so much too, babe. Fuck...” Her hands were slow, exploring the back of his neck and softly tugging at his hair as her doe like eyes looked deeply into his. “I missed you so fucking much, daddy.” His hand on her ass served to make her yelp again, pushing her into his arms even further as she blushed. “I’m afraid I can’t smell it over all that cologne you’re wearing, Prince. What did you do, pour the whole bottle?” Trixie teased, finally letting her hands drop back down to his shoulders. “It smells really good. Tell me it’s meat and potatoes, daddy. Tell me you know the way into my heart..”
HANK & JAMIE:
She never could’ve seen herself in a position like this. All that time, teaching herself to be self supportive, to use her education and smarts to get somewhere in the world rather than what was between her legs or her natural beauty, but here Jamie was. Having spent the night with Hank, a man she never could’ve seen herself interested in. It wasn’t that he wasn’t handsome, because the man was drop dead gorgeous and had a magnetism that she’d rarely seen. Her ovaries did a little cheer every time she looked at him, after all, as evidenced by the fact that she was pacing in bare feet, grey lacy panties and one of Hank’s shirts right now. But still - it rankled at her the way that he thought money solved everything. That he was so derisive about her dedication to her work and her want to try and make his space their space. The man was some high fucking walls, and Jamie second guessed her attempts to breach them every damn day.
For now though, Hank wasn’t the problem. It was her father, breathing down the line with words she was certain would smell like whiskey, making her press her palm to her forehead at what she was hearing. Raised voices were normal for them, as he accused her of abandoning him, of caring more about herself than him, how much he needed Jamie and how much of a disrespectful daughter she was. “Dad I can’t - I can’t have this conversation with you right now it’s six AM. I can’t talk to you about this.” It’s never the right time for you Jameson. Just another way you show me I’m not a fucking priority to you. Jamie resisted the urge to growl a bit under her throat, fed up with the whole conversation. Her annoyance was only matched by the guilt she still, despite her best efforts felt. “Good bye, Dad.” Throwing her phone on Hank’s couch she scrubbed her hands over her face and chuffed out an unhappy breath. What a start to her day. And she’d left bed for this?
Hank’s voice, cultured and aloof, cut through the brief silence after she’d hung up, startling Jamie a bit. One hand ruffled through her curls from her position sitting on one of his pristine white couches, another point of evidence of his exhorbiant wealth. It didn’t help that Hank chose this moment to bring up his in house chef - she didn’t have anything against them as a person, but it did not compute to her that the man was whole grown and didn’t cook his own damn meals. “She’s your cook, how would I know?” Maybe a little too testy for their first interaction of the day, but Jamie couldn’t help it. She was in a mood.
Hank never thought he’d be the kind of man to pay for company. But as his life would have it, he ended up being the adage people talked about. Money don’t maketh man. His grandfather would have had a field day with Hank’s loneliness, and that thought made his heart ache for his only living family. Family was rough, and what good was his bank account if he didn’t have anyone to spend it on? And maybe that is why he is taken by Jamie. Her independence, and her constant denial to be spoiled intrigues him, and Hank thinks dismantling her inhibitions is a more titillating project than anything he’s been doing for past six years.
He’s tempted to cut her some slack; the way she throws the phone, certain that it will rattle when picked up, he can tell she’s angry. Dad. Father issues? Something the investor would have to look into. “She usually makes sure breakfast is hot and piping, at the table, by six thirty. I don’t hear food being made, so I will ask again. Where is my cook, Jamie?” He doesn’t like her walking into his space and thinking she can change it. He doesn’t need her to be an autonomous presence, he wants her as an accessory, something that responds when spoken to.
“Who was it on the phone?” He was going to feign ignorance, as he walked into his kitchen, stroking the stainless steel surface of his refrigerator as he took out the accouterments for a hearty breakfast. “You can answer whenever you see fit. After all, we have all day, and we are paupers in steel cages.”
GAGE & KINSEY:
He didn’t have to look so good, knowing as Kinsey did that he probably smelled like fresh sweat and hard work, an aroma Hayes had never experienced in his whole life, she was certain. She’d dated around a little bit in high school, but Hayes had lasted for the longest, even after senior year when they’d gotten together. He’d made sense at the time - clean cut, handsome as a mother, smart as a whip. It had never made much sense to him why she was so unwilling to leave home, their biggest fights surrounding it, but as long as they ignored that, it worked. Also, the distance thing. That helped.
Not that it was helping now, when he was here trying to boyfriend and the guy she’d been flirting with for weeks was right there in front of her and trying to start something. Damn Gage for being as attractive as he was, even with the mess coming out his lips right now. “Hayes, this is Gage. My dad hired him a few months ago, he’s one of our new ranch hands. Ha ha, very funny, he’s not a frog.” Thankfully, she knows that Hayes is slow to anger. Not thankfully, she knows Gage doesn’t care. A hand comes up to rest on Hayes’s chest, more subconscious than anything.
“Gage, then? I’m Hayes. Nice to meet you. If anyone’s missing my girlfriend, it’s me, but. You know, think what you want.”
Kinsey willed her eyes to get across please don’t do this right now but she got a strong feeling that Gage wouldn’t listen. “I can’t really talk right now. He came up for a surprise visit, right babe?” Inwardly, she winces at the use of the word babe, but it’s what the two of them use.
By all accounts, Gage didn’t have to be here anymore. He was done for the day, he made his polite exchanges, and he could just be on his merry way. But there was an anger bubbling inside him, disguised under the facade of uncaring. He was angry with Kinsey, angry with her dumbass boy toy, angry with himself. He had been flirting with this girl, and the possibility that she was taken hadn’t even run through his mind. He would have lashed out somehow, breaking a million things and screaming.
But he was a reformed man. Putting reformed in a lot of brackets. He was lashing out in his head, and it would only be a matter of time till it became physical. So with a smile that didn’t quite reach his eyes, Gage smiled at the asshole named Hayes, and nodded. “Yeah man, I get that. She’s an incredible one. And a nice piece of ass, if I do say so myself.” His eyes glancing towards Kinsey, before back at Hayes. “Like I said, you two have a good time tonight. Stay out of the horse house because one of them is feeling very....angsty. Might even kick if spoken to.”

Lourdes wasn’t going to lie, her intentions weren’t the most pure when she invited Nick to hang out with her again, for probably the fourth time in the course of a week. She called it getting back together with an old friend, curling up on her oversized bed with someone she considered her best friend for the longest time.
She asked Nick to stay put on the bed while she changed. Leaving the door open wide enough for him to take a peek, but not too wide for it to look obvious. She was taking her time changing though. “I’ll be out in a minute! Can you turn the TV on? Thank you!”

“Okay, so I have this gorgeous Donna Karan that I got from a client. Pretty sure it’s outdated as fuck, so I treat it like a vintage keepsake. Oh Oliver, I miss you everyday, sweetie.” Lourdes shrugged, as she gave Jericho a whirl around her walk in closet, turning lights on as she walked through the space. Picking the dress out of the hanging closet, she let the light shine over the red fabric, before handing it over to Jericho.
“So, where’s the party man? Please tell me I can come along too! My mother’s coming into town, and I’d rather be anywhere but here with her.” She pouted and then made herself at home on the carpeted floor. “I’ll even call my personal stylist for us! It’ll be so cool! Please, please, please let me come with?”
