Architecturally the building itself constitutes an ‘open’ building for the city in which the sightseer has concurrent oversight of the Klafthmonos square and the artistic events taking place inside the building. Programatically DaMAC offers the possibility of regular accommodation to artists who lack resources and equipment in the same place where they work and perform.

Located in the heart of Athens, interventions include also the formulation of basic movements for Klafthmonos Square based on the projection of the Themistoclean wall’ ruins, which lie beneath the square as well as the connection of the internal open spaces of three cultural buildings within the same block.
