I don't usually consider a rectangular opening a candidate for #fanlightfriday but the #tracery in this mimics the composition of a fan and therefore pushes it into #fanlight territory. The house has signs calling it the #governorshouse, the #edwardrutledge house, and the #laurensrutledge house. The structure dates to the #18thcentury but the current facade is a #colonialrevival remodel from #1935. #charleston #southcarolinaflag #crescentmoon and #palmettotree. #clapboard and #shutters (at The Governor's House Inn)

This #HomeBuildingCompany house from #1890 sits off #whitefieldsquare. It, and its twin built for #carolinamuller, feature #ironwork #fenceposts that echo the unique shape of their #baywindow.
