Dongwoon takes his hand and the first beams of light slip between dense and heavy lila clouds. It isn't like in the fairy-tales, Kibum reflects as he squeezes the elder's hand between his, their fingers lacing together seconds after. Maybe life is not about getting the perfect ends, but more like a set of beautiful beginnings, he thinks as he catches a glimpse of the elder's profile, his heart skipping a beat with the beauty he finds in his golden eyes and soft black strands.
Pulled by inevitability, Kibum leans forwards, leaving a soft, light kiss against Dongwoon's cheek. Dongwoon turns to look at him as if he was the most wonderful thing in the universe and it wakes up the butterflies deep inside Kibum's stomach. Then the dragon prince tucks a loose strand of lavender hair behind his ear and closes the remaining distance between their lips. Smiling into the kiss, Kibum wraps his arms around the taller man's neck, and with something warm and fuzzy dancing inside his heart, he realizes that this is it. That after all the confusion and the pain, this exactly where he was meant to be, the exact place where he belongs.
Behind them, Niomh clears his throat and the both of them pull back a little, a blush overtaking their cheeks as they see an eyebrow arching up in the fox spirit's face.
"I hope you are ready, there's a wedding and a lot of people waiting for you behind these curtains of flowers", he says with a teasing smile.
Albeit all the nervousness, Kibum lets out a soft chuckle and nods. Niomh leaves them soon after and as he lifts up his gaze to look at Dongwoon in the eyes, the same bubbly feeling increases and increases, making him smile widely as his eyes shine with love. Dongwoon brushes his cheek and Kibum places his hand on top of his.
They walk together towards the hill where their handfasting will take place, and Kibum doesn't really see anybody else but his future husband.
Then, beside him, Dongwoon cracks a smile of shy hope as he takes his hand, and seeing how the sun comes up with the wind dispelling the heaviness in the clouds, Kibum can believe that the world is still a myth, and life a neverending fable.
