„The ones who are gathered on their faces to Hell - those are the worst in position and farthest astray in [their] way.“ [25:34]
Tafsir as-Sa'di (25:34);
„Here Allah tells us about the situation of the polytheists who rejected His Messenger (ﷺ), and the wretched fate they will meet, for they ﴾will be driven on their faces﴿, which will be a terrible and dreadful sight, when the angels of punishment drag them and pull them ﴾to hell﴿ which contains all torments and punishments.
﴾They﴿ that is, those who are in this state ﴾are in a worse position﴿ than those who believe in Allah and His Messenger ﷺ.
﴾And are further astray from the right path.﴿ This comparison does not mean that the other party are also astray, only less so, for the believers are in a good state and will have a good end; in this world they are guided to the straight path and in the hereafter they will reach the gardens of bliss.“
الله اكبر!
Narrated Anas ibn Mālik radiyAllāhu ‘anhu:
„A man said: 'O Allah's Prophet! Will Allah gather the Kuffar on their faces on the Day of Resurrection?'
Rasūlullāh ﷺ said: 'Will not the One Who made him walk on his feet in this world, be able to make him walk on his face on the Day of Resurrection?'
(Qatada - a subnarrator - said: 'Yes, By the Power of Our Lord!)'.“

Imam Ahmad said: „I was in a city where I knew no one. I entered a Masjid to pray and reside for the night [pray Maghrib & Isha’ and sleep]. I leaned upon a pillar in the Masjid and wanted to sleep. A worker in the Masjid [the one who is ordered to close the Masjid] saw me, and continued to drag me from my robe until I was forced out of the Masjid, and closed it.
So, I wanted to sleep in front of the Masjid, yet he pursued me and dragged me from my robe until he dismissed me from the premises of the Masjid. In the midst of this situation a man saw me, and asked about my situation, and invited me to be his guest for this evening. So I accepted. I followed this man to his house - This man was a baker, he would knead dough at night and bake it in the morning, this was how bakers worked during that time - and during the whole night, while this baker was kneading his dough, he would seek forgiveness from Allah.“
This is the believer. Always and forever, his tongue is moist with the remembrance of Allah. He would seek forgiveness from Allah abundantly. This man did not know his guest was Ahmad Ibn Hanbal. Because of the abundance of Istighfar this man was making, Imam Ahmad asked him: „You seek forgiveness from Allah plenty. Have you witnessed the bounties of Allah from this Istighfar?“ Ahmad Ibn Hanbal is from the most well-versed people of that time on Istighfar and its bounties.
The baker responded to him: „Yes. By Allah, I have not supplicated to Allah a single supplication, except that it has been answered for me, with the exception of one supplication.“
So, Imam Ahmad inquired: „What is this supplication that has not been answered?“ The baker responded: „That I meet Al-Imam Ahmad Ibn Hanbal.“
So, Imam Ahmad رحمه الله told him: „By Allah, Ahmad Ibn Hanbal was dragged to you!“
This is from the fruits of Istighfar, and the response of Allah towards those who seek forgiveness from Him always and forever, especially during the hours before dawn. And among the fruits of Istighfar is that Allah will forgive the sins of His slave, and this is most needed, as there is no one free from sin.
- Shaykh Musa Jibril حفظه الله
Waking up for Fajr is hard.
Living with the guilt of missing it is harder.
Choose your hard.
Raising righteous children is hard.
Watching your children grow up without the Dīn is harder.
Choose your hard.
Lowering your gaze is hard.
Protecting your heart from the consequences of what you chose to look at is harder.
Choose your hard.
Leaving what is haram is hard.
Living with the consequences of disobeying Allah is harder.
Choose your hard.
Being consistent in Salah is hard.
Standing before Allah with neglected prayers is harder.
Choose your hard.
Seeking knowledge is hard.
Remaining ignorant of the Dīn is harder.
Choose your hard.
Being a good role model is hard.
Watching those who look up to you follow the wrong example is harder.
Choose your hard.
Life will always have its struggles. You don't get to choose whether life is hard. But you can choose which struggle you are willing to bear. Choose the hardship that brings you closer to Allah, not the one that takes you further from Him.
Choose wisely.
Choose for the sake of Allah.
«So, O brothers, this is as authentically established in the sacred Hadith:
“Whoever draws near to Me by a handspan, I draw near to him by an arm’s length; and whoever comes to Me walking, I come to him running.”
The Lord of all the worlds comes to you running…
Who are you, O human being, that the Lord of all the worlds would come to you running?!
My Lord, do not call us to account for our shortcomings. By Allah, sins have surrounded us from every direction, yet Your mercy is vaster, O Lord of all the worlds. Your bounty is greater, and Your goodness reaches us before anything else, O Lord of all the worlds.
Our Lord, Glorified and Exalted is He, comes to you running. So, O brothers, rejoice and place your hopes in your Generous Lord.»
”Today, people complain of the hardness of the heart, the heedlessness of the heart, and diseases within the heart that none knows except the Knower of the unseen. I say: the cure for all of this is constant remembrance of Allah. The cure for the diseases of the heart, from the first of them to the last, is constant remembrance of Allah by night and by day.
Ibn al-Qayyim رحمه الله said:
“I heard Shaykh al-Islam رحمه الله say: ‘Remembrance is to the heart as water is to the fish; what would become of the fish if it were separated from the water?’”
By Allah, my brothers, our hearts are sick.“
On the day of Badr, the Prophet ﷺ ordered that the corpses of twenty four leaders of Quraish should be thrown into one of the dirty dry wells of Badr. (...)
When he halted at the edge of the well, he addressed the corpses of the Quraish infidels by their names and their fathers names:
„O so-and-so, son of so-and-so and O so-and-so, son of so-and-so! Would it have pleased you if you had obeyed Allah and His Messenger? We have found true what our Lord promised us.
Have you too found true what your Lord promised you?'"
[Sahih Bukhari, 3976]
Al-Hasan ibn Sālih in the old days had a servant, and he sold her to a family. So she went to that family and before Fajr she got up, because al-Hasan ibn Sālih used to tell her to wake him up in the one third end of the night. Before Fajr she got up and she said:
„As-Salāh, As-Salāh.“
The new family she is at said: „It is too early for Fajr here, do not wake us up until Fajr time.“
She said: „You only pray Fajr? You do not pray at night?“
They said, no.
She said: „I came from people who pray and pray and pray before Fajr.“
She began to give them a hard time until they returned her to al-Hasan ibn Sālih. She went to al-Hasan ibn Sālih and she said: "Please take me back. I beg of you to take me back, you sell me to evil people who only pray the obligatory?!“
- Ahmad Musa Jibril حفظه الله
Don’t say anything to anyone that you wouldn’t like to hear for yourself and in a manner that you wouldn’t like for yourself to be spoken in and that if you were in other person’s place you would do the same as he did.
So before saying anything, first measure your words upon the scales of the Quran and sunnah, then put yourself in the show of the one you are addressing and accordingly say it in a manner that you’d love for yourself to be spoken to.
Ibn al-Qayyim رحمه الله said: “A man is the one who fears the death of his heart, not the death of his body.”
[Madarij al-Salikeen, 3/248]
The heart will never find lasting peace in what Allah has forbidden it. So fear the death of your heart, and fear the day when sin no longer troubles you.
The real danger is not only falling into sin, but becoming numb to it, until your heart no longer feels the weight of disobeying Allah.
That is a far greater loss.
The Salaf used to send one another a letter, which would cross the deserts and wastelands. When his brother would open it, it would read:
„O' my brother, how (in what state) do you find your heart? Do not let the worldly life deceive you, for the meeting is (in) Jannah.“
- „These are but only few days, our appointment is in Jannah...“
And just like that.. there are only 6 months left until Ramadan, in shā Allāh. Let’s start preparing for Ramadan now, so that it will be easier for us when it arrives.

Ma’la ibn al-Fadl, may Allāh have mercy on him, said, “The companions would supplicate to Allāh for six months prior that they would reach Ramadan. Then, they would supplicate to him for six months afterward to accept their deeds.”

Whenever you get the urge to scroll on your phone or waste time, open the Mushaf. If you’re outside or don’t have the Mushaf with you/ available, read Qur’an from your phone or from memory. And if, for whatever reason, you’re unable to read from your phone, keep your tongue busy with dhikr and istighfār.
There is always a way one can show their love to Allāh عز وجل and strive to be among those whom He loves.
I promise you, by Allāh, that if you do this sincerely and consistently, you will see your life change. Just try it and see for yourself.
„Do not abandon enjoining good even if you fall short in some of it,
& do not abandon forbidding evil even if you fall into some of it,
& teach that which is good even if you do not practice all of it.“
Ibrāhim Ibn Adham was seen buying butter, honey and bread, so he was asked: "You eat all of this?!"
He responded: "When we can afford it, we eat like men, and when we can’t afford it then we have the patience of men."
