WELCOME !! You have landed at my writing blog for Wonder Woman. This is an independent, mutual’s only RP blog with a portrayal based on Diana of Themyscira from Detective Comics and the DCEU movies. Elodie Yung is my official faceclaim for Diana. As for me, my name is Taylor, I’m 26 years of age, and I go by she/her pronouns. I look forward to writing with you and becoming friends!

Diana remembers conjuring the might of her ancestors to steal the War God’s bolts of lightening, winding them around her gauntlets and striking Ares to his death. There is so much she would do to protect the World of Man; there is so little she would deny them. It was love. It was her love that killed Ares, and it’s his madness that is killing her. If she were anyone else, if were someone with less love in her heart, someone with less goodness, then she would have succumbed to the impulses already. War wants its God. It wants her. 

At the sound of his voice, Diana’s eyes wander to look at Jason, her face obstructed by a river of black hair. She’s trembling, like a leaf caught in a hurricane. The voice of Ares is loud. It is demanding of her. The voice will fail.

THERE ARE MANY, SO MANY, THINGS DIANA DOES NOT UNDERSTAND. So, so many things she does not know. This world is a mystery to her; a language in which she is still not fluent. Her mouth will open to speak, but only nonsense will emerge. Perhaps Mother was right to believe Diana to be wholly unprepared for the world of Man, perhaps naivety is the disease that will get her and others killed. Mother had said Mankind did she not deserve her, yet Diana is finding it is herself who is failing them. Is she not a fierce enough warrior? Is her heart too plagued with doubts? She thought, she believed, she KNEW, that she was the one capable of saving the world. Why, then, has she not?

What she can decipher, though, what she does grasp, is the sorrow that latches onto Harley’s face, diving into the marrow of her bones and drowning there. Unlike the paint thick on her lips, this sorrow does not surrender to the rain pouring from the skies. It does not fade.

Diana tilts her head, hopeful that the change in position will allow her to witness something other than sadness on Harley’s face. But one cannot witness that which is not there. 

Desperate to provide comfort, she entwines their fingers together, palms flattening against each other. She holds Harley’s hands like this, and it is conviction that burns through her eyes. ❛ No. Not everything. Not me, ❜ she says. As certainly as she makes promises, she says this. A touch of a smile flickers on her face, like a flame that might wither in the dark but still prevails. ❛ It will be better. When Ares is no longer alive. Then, you will see. You will see that he is the true sickness. Not you. ❜ She’ll see.

They’ll all see.

Her breath hitches in her throat. She looks to Jason, and she wants to drown herself in the admiration she sees in his eyes. She has failed spectacularly, yet he can’t seem to think of her as anything other than a hero. She swallows. 

❛ Someone I loved very much once told me I would save the world. ❜ She punctuates the thought with a laugh that is as humorless as it is dry. Look at her now, Steve. Look at how she didn’t even stop one war. 

There is pain glistening on her face more vividly than the sweat on her skin. ❛ The truth is I’m not so sure I’ve even bettered it. ❜

When she thinks of wolves, she thinks of how their brutality keeps them alive. But when she thinks of Cheetah, she thinks of how brutality is killing her slowly, a poison that spreads first to the mind before polluting the heart. Her actions are brutal, but she is not.

Just a physical cage to add to the mental one. WHEN SHE SMILES, IT IS A GHOSTLY THING. Her lips struggle to lift upwards, like there’s a weight holding them down. And perhaps, in many ways, there is. It’s the exhaustion that Donna speaks of that gives her such pause. She is so, so very tired. She’s tired in the way that seeps into the marrow of her bones.
