Two Women Kissing in Nature (b. 1859)
â by Georges Rochegrosse
p. 2
The concept âNuvant fa a paurâ is related to the ancient neapolitan tradition of the âTombolaâ game played during Christmas holidays.
This is a lottery game, similar to Bingo, that for each number has a corresponding image or phrase, known as âfigureâ or âsimbologieâ, which adds a fun and cultural twist to the game.
The number 90 corresponds to âaâ paurâ which means âfearâ. In this piece, the background is the scan of an old Tombola sheet that contains all the numbers that I found in my nonnaâs house. The use of color red comes from the classic layout of the game (pic. 1&2)
I donât know exactly what I wanted to communicate but I guess itâs the blurriness that fear can give us.
Let me know :)
Ciao,
Iâve decided to try to spend less time on social media investing my time to learn skills for hobbies Iâm interested in.
The goal is making small projects every month trying to actually finish them and learn something from them, but without feeling too overwhelmed by the size of them.
For January Iâve decided to try learn how to use Affinity and to make little graphics.
The first project I finished is this little piece of mixed media: on the background a picture shoot on 35 mm film in Paris in July edited with the quote âEVOLVE OR DIEâ.
I donât know if this will arrive to someone but if so suggest me small projects I could make for the next time.
I would like to have tips and suggestions of any kind to be better :)
Nina.
