I know my GBF screaming had taken over for a while, but I have not forgotten.. Yullen
I really like this art by wonderful Mochizuki Jun and I had tried to clean it.♥
I know that everybody likes to discuss how attractive the Yiling Patriarch is. I am not disagreeing. He is strikingly beautiful, because Wei Wuxian is strikingly beautiful. Yet I find the difference that is between the Patriarch and the young cultivator to be overwhelmingly tragic.
Wei Wuxian is exuberant. He is healthy, confidant, and strong. His skin glows. The muscles beneath it swell as they should for somebody who is always either eating or out causing mischief. His eyes are bright, his hair is shiny and long. His mind works at a thousand miles per hour. He is always talking, theorizing, inventing, laughing, or up to something. He is always moving, and he seems to have limitless energy. He is a powerful cultivator, a skilled artist, and seems to be good at everything he attempts. He is truly a flourishing lotus.
The Yiling Patriarch tries to still be exuberant, yet there is something heartbreakingly off about it. It is like watching a very hurt dog try to wag its tail for the people around it.
He sleeps little. His eyes are bruised with exhaustion. There is a deep darkness in them that not even his brightest smiles can hide. His skin is almost as pale as the corpses he commands. He is still clever, yet the demonic cultivation he uses to protect all he loves is eating him alive. There are times that he gets hazy thoughts or loses stretches of time. His memory slips often. His moods often do the same, into anguish, paranoia, anger. His words and smiles are a little too pointed sometimes, and at other times they are a little too forced. He looks sick, and his robes hang off of him like they never did before. He is sinking back into the mud, and he would have withered even if Jiang Cheng had not cut his stem.

Happy Birthday Ritsu
do you ever think about how the world would have stopped when lan wangji heard wei wuxian was dead, how his bright grin flashed before his eyes, the physical pain in lan wangji’s chest as he fought to even breathe as he attempted to process that information, how he would have stared into space not replying until his brother shook him by the shoulders trying to wake him from his shocked stupor.
“don’t lie,” he had said, his eyes wide and mind too frozen to do anything but pray that his brother was lying in an attempt to make him move on, it had to be. wei ying wasn’t dead he couldn’t be. but he was.
Two Fates
Drew this originally for Singles Appreciation Day, but I’m still going to post it because in this house, every day is Jiang Cheng Appreciation Day. ( ´・‿-)~♡
