light prince(ss) au! (asra x julian)

based off the light princess musical. listen here.

asra is the prince of lagobel, the second child to king salim and queen aisha. one day, without warning, queen aisha dies and the kingdom is plunged into mourning. all except for asra, who, shocked at the death of his mother, simply refuses to feel sadness and laughs.

upon doing so, asra immediately loses all sense of physical and emotional gravity, literally beginning to float above his responsibilities and the world. king salim, turning to cold-heartedness, locks the airborne prince in a tower, only giving him a magical snake (faust) for a companion.

at the same time, julian is the prince of a seaside kingdom called sealand. he is the only child of a kindhearted queen and greedy king. around the same time as the death of lagobel’s queen, sealand’s queen disappears, coincidentally after questing some of her husband’s practices.

unlike asra and his people, the kingdom, terrified of the king, refuses to mourn - julian, however, feels the brunt of his mother’s disappearance and from that day on is no longer able to smile, earning him the title “the solemn prince of sealand”.

years pass and both princes grow, asra becoming detatched from the world and julian forming into a strong, stone-hearted warrior.

the day of julian’s coming of age ceromony, a sealand loyalist assassinates asra’s brother (the crown prince of lagobel).king salim, desperate for a new strong heir, runs to asra and begs him to take up his brother’s old duties and lead the fight against sealand.

asra is unaffected by his brother’s death and laughs off his father’s request. after this, he flees to the woods between lagobel and sealand in an attempt to find sanctuary.

while doing so, he discovers a lake which is the only source of lagobel’s, a desert kingdom, limitied water supply. moments later, he hears of the slaughter of lagobel’s armies at the hands of sealand but remains indifferent.

just then, julian appears. he meets asra and proceeds to tease him about his lack of gravity (despite the ongoing war between the two kingdoms), to which asra responds as warmly as he can. asra tells him about the importance of the lake to lagobel, and julian, filled with mirth at the way the other prince talks, smiles for the first time in years.

after more conversation, julian and asra fall in love and vow to return to see each other.

back in lagobel, king salim hears about asra’s actions in the woods and tries to set up an arranged marriage to make the prince cry, hoping the tears will restore his gravity. it backfires and asra once again flees to the lake.

asra and julian, meeting again in the woods, declare themselves kings of the lake. julian begs asra to run away with him and start a life with him deep in the forest, but asra stays, preferring the watery (and magical) home of the lake.

unbeknownst to julian, his father figures out the importance of the lake and sends an army to dam it up, hoping to kill lagobel with a widespread drought. julian, realizing his further love for asra, nearly dies destroying the dam.

asra, after many years of feeling no emotion whatsoever, begins to weep at julian’s near death. when his tears fall from his eyes, his sense of gravity is suddenly returned to him. he and julian kiss.

after this, the two get married and live happily ever after, striking a peace between the kingdoms.

asra goes to university and becomes a marine biologist and appoints faust Prime Minister, letting a semblance of democracy enter the two kingdoms.

and asra and julian live happily ever after :)

so if the postcards in the “the story begins” set correspond with each of the characters first encounters with the apprentice, that implies that the postcards in the “a new beginning” set must do the same, right???

we have three possibilities for Lucio in that case.

1) there is a small or almost near fire in the shop when Lucio comes around

2) he attempts to/actually does burn down the shop

3) he saves the apprentice from the burning shop OR watches the apprentice escape from the shop

Lucio in love headcanons

For the first while that you’re together, you aren’t really together. Of course everyone knows, it’s just not verbally confirmed. The first time it’s actually confirmed is at some extravagant party he’s thrown. Some foreign diplomat doesn’t know the nature of your relationship and flirts with you which of course, Lucio doesn’t stand for and he just comes over screaming about them flirting with his partner.

Lucio though he doesn’t always seem it, is very attentive to you. he remembers a lot of small details about you that you don’t always remember bringing up.

If you mentioned something you wanted, even in passing or jokingly, you may be surprise gifted with whatever that is.

That’s a big way he shows his love, he’s not too good at verbally expressing it. His compliments are often a bit awkward but it’s the thought that counts right? Eventually they do get better though.

Seriously, sometimes the things he says are so stupid that all you can do is look at him like ‘what the fuck’ and every time without fail, his face goes beet red.

You two share the bed with Mercedes and Melchior, even if you two didn’t want to, they whine at the door till they get to come into bed with you two.

You’ve waken up to him watching you sleep on numerous occasions, it’s almost always followed by a ‘you’re gorgeous/handsome when you sleep.’

He gives the best compliments when he’s just woken up and half asleep. Usually even more physically affectionate at those times too, hes practically glued to your side pressing his face into your neck and holding you close

He’s very physically affectionate in general, always has an arm wrapped around your waist, pressing kisses to your head etc. And he will absolutely melt if you return those gestures. Hes touch starved pls love this man.

You aren’t immune to his angry outbursts just because you’re together. It’s usually over petty things that resolve themselves but you’ve had some fights where one of you will end up sleeping in another room.

Lucio’s apologies aren’t the best all the time and a lot of the time he doesn’t apologize and tries to brush it under the rug. But if he knows you’re genuinely upset he will make an effort to apologize to you.

He just really isn’t that great at verbally expressing how much he cares about you, but you can see how much he cares about you in the small things he does for you or the way he looks at you.

You really know that he cares about you because he is willing to put your before himself for many things.

vesuvia high (high school au!)

Julian is a senior, president of Vesuvia High’s (tiny) drama club. He’s completing his school’s healthcare pathway and plans to try to go to med school if he can make it in. He was voted onto Homecoming Court his sophomore year but has since fallen out of the popularity game ever since some nasty rumors about him nearly getting expelled (courtesy of Superintendent Lucio) were passed around. Since then, he’s become more eclectic in his style (though still consider extremely attractive) and simply floats around outside of the drama department. His only constant friend is his sister Portia and Asra Alnazar, who is equally as much as a character as Julian is.

Julian’s Archetype: The Gorgeous Edgy Kid

Nadia is the Principal of Vesuvia High. Rumor has it she had a fling with the Superintendent a couple years ago, but people are so intimidated by her beauty and power that they’ll only mention it over private text messages or in dark corners of parties - never at school. She’s quite nice after getting to know her, though. She deals with trouble students elegantly and quickly, without much clamor. People say the only reason she didn’t expel Julian Devorak was just to spite the Superintendent, but others say she knew Julian didn’t do anything wrong in the first place.

Nadia’s Archetype: PILF (Principal I’d Like to Get Freaky With)

Asra is a junior at Vesuvia High. He competes on the school’s Academic team and is a favorite of Principal Nadia, frequently being called upon to report on the current social climate. He is labeled as a “hippie” by many and has snuck his snake Faust into school multiple times, much to the delight of some and the horror of others. He’s quite friendly with everyone but sometimes gets a bad rap for hanging out with Julian Devorak, who has grown to be mainly disliked. Despite this, overall he seems to be the most popular of the bunch. He’s just trying to finish high school just in time to start studying to be a literary historian (with a minor in religion, of course).

Asra’s Archetype: Cute Hippie Boy

Muriel is a sophomore at Vesuvia High. People seem to think he’s a senior or even a returning alumn due to his appearance, but the past year’s yearbook seems to have squashed those ideas quickly. He was on the football team his freshman year - pressured by the Superintendent to do so - but quit immediately after accidentally giving one of his teammates a concussion. (He still feels extremely guilty about this and curses his overbearing power every day). Despite seeming to be admired during his first year, sophomore year has turned Muriel into a social outcast and is only ever seen talking to Asra Alnazar. His secret hope is that, once he graduates, he’ll move to the countryside and open a senior dog sanctuary. Poor boy doesn’t have enough faith that such an idea will ever happen.

Muriel’s Archetype: Big Scary Softie

Portia is a junior and the sister of Julian Devorak. She’s another favorite of Principal Nadia and is extremely passionate about zoology, which she wishes to study after she graduates. She’s likely the most neutral when it comes to the social hierarchy of high school, preferring to be nice to everyone rather than having a small, tight-knit group of friends. (Though she does seem to spend an inordinate amount of time with her brother, whom she dubs a “complete moron”.) Many come to her asking for advice and usually end up walking away pleased - she seems to have a maturity many lack at her age. In the end, Portia is simply Portia, and the most likely to make it out of high school alive (if her idiot brother doesn’t kill her first).

Portia’s Archetype: Sweetie of the School

Lucio is the Superintendent of the Arcana School District. His policies, such as shortening the lunch period of Vesuvia High in order to add an extra half hour to Physical Education class, are often met with much backlash. No one but Principal Nadia dares to challenge him, whom he’s rumored to have had a fling with (maybe that’s why she’s not afraid of him?) Nonetheless, the only people who seem to enjoy him are the wealthy parents in the districts, the ones who can raise their children's’ grades with the slide of a hefty wallet in his direction. For some reason, Julain Devorak, who does not have a parent with an inexcusable amount of money to spend, is his least favorite student at Vesuvia High. He is often seen dropping into Julian’s classes in an attempt to catch some reason for expulsion. Overall, Lucio is one of the most underqualified Superintendents to ever rule preside over the Arcana School District. (He is hot though if that’s any consolation).

ok so I live in the southern us and all over highways and stuff are little crosses with peoples’ names on them (like for people who died in car accidents) and I was just wondering: does any other area do that??? like the rest of the US or even outside the US??? because I’m not sure if it’s just a southern Christian phenomenon or what
