I got the Trolberg Stories collected volume of Hildafolk (bc cool cover and bonus content even though I already own the individual Bird Parade and Black Hound [hyperfixation go brrr]) and there was this comic I’d never seen in the back and like,,, Raven buddy you’re ridiculous aksdhflsdhfls

Johanna being an artist is something that makes me genuinely insane. Like it just makes so much sense. And I can't stop thinking about her drawing Hilda and capturing moments of her daughter and how you can see Hilda grow up through Johanna's art. Like people always talk about artists drawing their lovers and watching that love grow and mature over the years and seeing that reflected in art of them. But what if the artist is a mother who has such an overwhelming love and protectiveness for her daughter. And she gets to capture these moments of her daughter growing up through her art before the moment slips through her fingers. LIKE LIKE IT LITERALLY MAKES ME INSANE. And imagine years down the line Johanna looking over her old sketches of her daughter from when she was young. It's like reminiscing over a family photo album but even more meaningful when you know the care you put into drawing each line of the artwork to capture that moment.

Watching other, bigger fandoms makes me appreciate this one so much. The amount of insane discourse I’ve seen just by lurking is absolutely nuts. Like, look at any big fandom and then look at us here. We’re not even a village, a village implies beef between the neighbors. We’re just a circle of pals over a campfire. We all know each other and any different views we have becomes biodiversity in our lovely ecosystem. We’re singing Kumbaya and roasting marshmallows instead of each other. Any ‘discourse’ we have is just jokes we make up to amuse ourselves. I love you guys.

hi!! great-aunt Astrid's front door rug looks an awful lot like a trans flag!! I haven't seen anyone else point this out yet,, and frankly idk if it's purposeful or accidental but seeing how Hilda as a show likes the themes of "be yourself", "find your own family" and is generally good with casual background rep I wouldn't put it past em :)

I've been thinking about this for awhile

I think the Hilda fandom should give Kaisa's old concept art the beta TOH treatment and turn them in to characters

I propose that they're her old Witch classmates who she thought she'd never ever have to see again, but they all absolutely adore her and have gone out of their way to find her and come visit

Of course! I mean that the drawing of Hilda Johanna does in ep6: The Forgotten Lake is literally Luke Pearson's art style that he uses in the original Hildafolk books!
