Katsuki not knowing how much he loves Izuku's scent until the omega returns to the UA (after summer break) with a collar to block his scent.
Everyone complains and bemoans until Uraraka asks why he's wearing that and the green haired omega mumbles something about his mother worrying about him and buying one for him.
Katsuki becomes grumpier than usual, snapping and snarling at everyone who comes near him (except for Izuku, although the explosive alpha refuses to admit it) and getting so stressed and upset Kirishima and Ashido beg Izuku to take off his collar for a couple of minutes in the common room so Katsuki can relax a bit.
Of course, being the oblivious bean he is, Izuku gets confused because he doesn't know what his scent has to do with Katsuki's bad mood and class A debates if they should just... tell him themselves so their nightmare can finally end.
They decide to wait and almost regret it when they watch a sparring match between Katsuki and Izuku in which the blond ends up on top of the omega and starts nibbling at his collar while growling. Everyone freezes as Izuku tenses underneath Katsuki, however, since the grumpy boy is definitely not that kind of alpha, he realizes what he's doing and quickly jumps away from the omega, blushing furiously afterwards.
"I'm sorry..." He apologizes immediately, looking at the ground as Izuku rises up in front of him. "It's not... I wasn't trying to bite you... I just... don't like it when I can't smell your scent, I miss it."
"That's why you've been so upset lately?" Izuku asks, in a whisper, almost shyly.
Katsuki nods, blush spreading down his neck.
"You should've told me, Kacchan!" The omega grins, finally removing his collar and class A collectively takes a deep breath as the familiar, sweet scent reaches their nostrils.
Katsuki's shoulders relax immediately and everyone watches with a little bit of jealousy as Izuku spreads his arms in front of the alpha as an invitation.
"Really, Izuku?" Katsuki whispers, almost shaking with excitement.
"Of course! Although I'm only going to take the collar off a couple of minutes each day so make sure you–"
He gets cut off as soon as Katsuki jumps into his arms and starts nuzzling against him, breathing into his neck like he wants to drown in the omega's scent.
The alpha purr that he lets out is so loud and powerful it startles a few of them, but not Izuku, who grins fondly at him and starts running his fingers through his hair like Katsuki is just a grumpy kitty that needs physical affection.
"Just a couple of minutes, Kacchan," the omega reminds him gently, chuckling at the way the blond pouts in response.
"Tch! Fine!" He huffs before burying his face in the curve of Izuku's neck again.
Katsuki's humor improves a lot in the next couple of days, but he follows Izuku everywhere like a lovesick puppy and the omega convinces himself it means Katsuki is trying to be friendly with him.
Class A is still not sure if they find the situation irritating or funny... probably both.
I would like for you to know that the way you draw Izuku makes me want to tuck him into bed and give him a loving kiss on his forehead…. and that he looks like he’d taste like a handful of gummy bears
