Last month marks two years of Haikyuu—joining the fandom, creating content, generally becoming obsessed. It also means this is my third time drawing this pose, since 2023. I thought I plateaued in my skill from last year, but its actually such a jump! I've had some major creative burnout out lately, so I'm happy to finish this, even if it's late.

Art style/skill progression is a funny thing. You know you must be improving but it's a very different feeling when you put things in a side-by-side comparison like this… the small details haven't really changed and I think that's so cute!

When I made my request, I took some inspiration from a scene in my fic, Twenty Five Years:

Another short walk, a second wind. The final nail in the coffin was Shoyo's favorite neighborhood bar, which is where Kageyama stopped noticing how as soon as he emptied a bottle, it was replaced. It's where Shoyo started reaching for him with both hands, grabbing his face and planting drunken kisses on his forehead every time he got up to get them more beers from the bar inside. Where he started burying his own hand in Shoyo's hair - so fucking soft, how the fuck - whenever Shoyo leaned far enough across the table that he could easily reach. Where Shoyo started to repeat himself - "Stay here, just stay" - enough times that it felt less like a lighthearted joke and more like a plea.
