[OPINIÃO] (g)-i-dle - heat EP estava muito desanimada com esse grupo depois do último ep (que foi a coisa mais cringe e sem criatividade do mundo), e fiquei bem curiosa quando vi que iam lançar um ep todo um inglês. além de que é a primeira vez um álbum que não tem um dedo da soyeon nele. achei interessante a rota que escolheram e as músicas são divertidas em sua maioria. eu gostei da vibe mas achei que não é nada inovador - não que tudo tenha que ser. é bem produzido e as músicas não são muito genéricas, se encaixam bem com o estilo do grupo. acho que o álbum cumpriu o propósito dele sem ser algo feito de qualquer jeito, que logo vai ser esquecido, mas também não achei algo marcante.

sendo subjetiva, eu adorei o gênero das músicas, farofa boa.

investigation: are nayeon’s hands really that big?

alert: this entire post will be done in metric so um keep a calculator close by my american friends

so the wikipedia page for body proportion says that “An average person is generally 7-and-a-half heads tall (including the head).” google says that nayeon is 1.63m / 5 foot 3 (generous, but it’s ok. she can have it.)

this means that nayeon’s head is 21.7cm

so now attaching an online ruler, you can see for yourself that nayeon’s face is 9 units on the ruler. (the red line is where her chin is because her hands are obscuring them)

and here you’ll see that nayeon’s hands are 8.5 units. also attached a ruler and a line (i took the lowest part to the top of her middle finger on only one hand bc her hands aren’t perfectly parallel)

so this means that nayeon’s head to hand ratio is 9:8.5, or 1:0.94.

since nayeon’s head is 21.3cm, nayeon’s hands are therefore 21.3 x 0.94 = 20cm

but that’s not it! that’s just a number and it means nothing to everyone. you can measure your own hands to compare, but it’s still a subjective unit. so i looked it up and it says here that your hand size should roughly be calculated through this formula:

height in inches x 0.10

nayeon is 163cm, or 64 inches. her hand size should be 64in x 0.10 = 6.4in = 16.2cm.

nayeon’s hands are 20cm. her hands are 1.25 times larger than they should be
