Casa Scaccabarozzi, Turin, Italy 1840:

this is one of the most bizarre buildings in the world, built by Alessandro Antonelli, the designer of the Mole Antonelliana (Turin’s landmark) on the batch he was given as payment. The site was a narrow triangular area, despite this, Antonelli managed to build a 9 storey-house: the largest side measures 4,35 metres while the shortest only 54 centimetres (!). The result is an incredible building which seems to disappear if seen from a partial view. Built entirely in bricks, although thin and tall, the house proved to be extremely firm, still standing after earthquakes and bombings.
