– “A-ah, excuse me…M-Mercury, right…? W-we…we’re supposed to be     project partners…” 

    Her voice trailed off as she spoke; her nerves beginning to poke at her again.     She fidgeted with the papers in her hands, silently reading their assignment     to herself once more. She hadn’t spoken to Mercury yet; other than the time     she had flat out walked into him and the occasional passing by each other in     the hall; Mai or one of the guys would end up directing her attention away so     she wouldn’t get the chance to speak to him. 

    “A-Ah…I don’t think that w-we’ve had the chance to s-speak yet…”

     He’d seen this girl around before,  watched her interact with a few of  the other students.  Mostly that redhead  and the NormalBoots guys.  She was  cute, excessively so.  She sparked  Mercury’s curiosity.  

     “Oh?  No, don’t think we have.  I’m  Mercury Black.  You?”

          Keeping a symbol grin on her face she looked around the room and looked at him.  Inhaling for a moment she perk up at the moment and place her arms around his shoulders.  Laughing for a moment.

             “ You wish.”

     Mercury’s free hand moved to cup her  cheek as his face descended to her throat.   His chin brushed her scarf aside to allow  access to her pulse.  Lips glided along the  soft flesh, planting small kisses, alternating  with gentle bites.  Though the start was  slow, he didn’t intend on keeping this pace  forever.

 Entering the room she smirked and looked around for a moment. She would have NEVER guessed he was that type of guy. But turning back she crossed her arms and just smirked  a little more— oh well, this was going to be FUN.

                         “….Well, Yes. Yes it is.”

     The lights were low, just enough to illuminate  the room in soft lighting.  Perfect for what Mercury  had in mind.  He approached Yang, smirk still  plastered across his face, and reached his hand  to touch the shorter girl’s waist.

     “You’d better not go easy on me.”

Nora huffed, blowing a loose strand of hair out of her face as she turned to place two plates of food on the bar counter top. “There ya’ go, two meatloaf meals.” She stated, sending a bright smile to the customers. Today was a weird pattern between slow and busy, but luckily gave the girl a break from running around the establishment like a crazy person. 

More customers came in and she greeted them with a smile and a joyful, “what can I get’cha?” Most times the smile was returned, making a sense of relief wash over her because it was always nice to be smiled at- especially in the service business. Once those customers were taken care of, she went back behind the counter to hand the chef the piece of paper with the order on it. Turning to the cash register, she took the money from a waiting customer with yet again- a smile. Only to be met by a cringe worthy remark from the old man, causing her smile to become a bit fake.

Once he was turned around, her smile disappeared and she sighed- grumbling profanities under her breath. Only a few more hours of this and she could be home with her art, along with many more paintings and drawings she would come up with in said few more hours. She leaned against the counter, arms crossed as she wandered off into her own world of creative ideas. Thinking of what colors she could pair together, as well as what figures she could make up. 

But her thoughts were soon cut short by the bell of the diner door ringing. Her head jerked up and plastered a smile on her face quickly, eyes landing on the young man who stood in the doorway. “Hi there! How can I help you?”

     A small dive.  That was all this place was.  Mercury 

had come to the diner hoping it would be something 

worth ripping off, but instead, he was greeted with a 

hole in the wall hardly worth the risk and effort of robbing 

the joint.  No, definitely not worth it.  Still, he’d come out 

all this way.  He may as well grab a bite to eat while he 

was there.  

     At the woman’s greeting, he flashed a small smirk and 

approached the counter.  That smile, the smile of a food 

service employee who really didn’t want to be there.  He 

knew it, saw it everywhere he went.  Didn’t help she was 

kind of cute, too.

     ‘ I’ll have a cheeseburger, order of fries, and a medium 

People Like Grapes. ‘

Grinning the blonde couldn’t help but shake her head; and smirked as she followed him. Leaning over she nudge him back and walked. 

                      “ — well that’s good. Because you will definitely see                  a side of me, you might be scared of~” She teased.

     Their trip was short.  Mercury led Yang  to an 

empty classroom; one that hadn’t seen use in quite 

the while.  It was convenient, private.  He locked the 

door behind them and pulled the shade down on the 

window.

     ‘ This private enough for you? ‘

Looking up at the male, she grinned for a moment. Taking a second she laughed.

                 “ –For some things, YES — others, let’s go somewhere else.                               Don’t be to shy now.”

     He stood beside her, giving a gentle nudge 

to her shoulder so she would follow him to a more 

secluded location

     ‘ Oh I am so not gonna be shy, Yang.  You’ll 

see a side of me you never knew existed. ‘

she grinned and took a step over to him.

             “ oh please, I need to see what a real man can do.”

     Mercury flashed a devilish smile as he approached the 

blonde, stopping just half a foot shy of her position.

     ‘ Wanna take it somewhere private or are you some kind 

of exhibitionist? ‘

       “ Prove it. are you all talk?  I bet you are~”

     ‘ Come on over here and I’ll show you what a 

real man can do. ‘

“ I AM THE HEAT. — Are you sure you can handle it?”

     ‘ Oh hot damn!  Yeah, I can definitely handle 

it. ‘

“Oh Honey, you think I’M going to say it? Please, Don’t make me laugh.                               You’re be the one SCREAMING it.”

     ‘ Oh I love a woman who can kick my ass.  But those 

are some lofty promises, Yang.  You sure you can handle 

the heat? ‘

          “I thought it was Banana.”

     ‘ Banana.  Yeah that sounds about right.  It’s 

just a matter of which one of us has to say it first. ‘

"Is it me, or do you have a good fashion sense? Because I am totally digging those boots, Mercury." Mercury would pat the other's shoulder. "Also, did you do something with your hair, because it looks amazing."

     ‘ Nah, nothing special, Mercury.  Just a good eye for 

clothes.  You doing something new with the legs?  Those 

look sleeker. ‘

     Mercury eyed his counterpart and gave the other a 

light fist bump to the biceps.

“Where is Mercury, I need someone to punch.”

     ‘ What’s the safe word again?  It’s Zebra, right?  

That doesn’t sound like anything else. ‘

“Good I’m so glad. But we all know I didn’t – But thanks for trying to make things better. Dick.”

     ‘ Ya know, i think somewhere we got off on the wrong 

foot.  No really, you were supposed to smash my other 

one.  I wasn’t faking that, and it really fucking hurt.  They’re 

still attached to skin, you know. ‘

Erika started laughing, she had never laughed this much in her life, she was laughing so much. “Oh my God.” she took a deep breath before laughing more.

Finally after a couple of more moments of laughter she wiped the tears she had cried from laughing so hard off her face. “Not gonna lie, Mercury. You could really take up a job as a comedian. That was hilarious. You, Marcus’ favorite? As if, he actually trained me and sent me out on jobs with him. I mean sure I’m more than aware of what your family does, which is use people, but still. What the fuck did you do?” she shook her head.

“If you really wanna prove who was ‘Daddy’s favorite’ how about you and me go right now? I got time to kill before my client gets here.” she would set her messenger bag down. “Besides, I’ve been hankering for a good fight for a while now, what better of an opponent than you?” she cracked her neck as she looked to him. “You up for it? Or are you too busy with things? Because I can easily fit kicking your ass into my schedule, you know?”

     A sarcastic roll of his eyes as she laughed at him, 

Mercury sighed and waited for Erika to finish before 

responding to the redhead.

     ‘ ya know, it’s not polite to laugh in someone’s face 

like that.  Really I don’t give a fuck how he trained you 

so long as you do what you do well and don’t fuck up. ‘

     At her offer, Mercury cracked his knuckles, reaching 

out to ruffle her hair in a condescending manner.  This 

girl was all that was left of his connection to his father, 

and so he made sure he was going to make her life 

as frustrating as possible.  Not kill her, no that wouldn’t 

be nearly as fun for him, but he would toy with her any 

chance he had.
