But you get the idea.
Book’s still unnecessary in that.
If that’s all you need. Which you’ve already said it is. A little minimalist but minimalist is good. Makes life much less but also much more!

Sure I can multitask. Smoke [he holds up two fingers of one hand], drink [mimes a cup with the other], girl [gestures at the space in front of him, moving his hips suggestively].
No need for a book.
That’s a fairly compelling argument BUT I’d disagree with the practicality of it, in other words, don’t do that even if you can. A woman’s body needs delicate touch and strong hip thrusting, not just one, not just the other.
Having fun.
You can multitask, can’t you? It’s a basic human talent -- not everyone can do it well but everyone can do it.
[ Tomislava’s grown up in the streets, running, fighting. Even with Alana’s physical advantages, Tomislava knows streets. She knows how to circumvent obstacles, going over, under, around, not through. And she heads for the more populated areas of New York. Times Square. Full of tourists and human shields. And police that shoot to kill. ]
( alana recognizes where she’s going and stops, remembering that she has a lover to return to. and that lover could easily have this woman strung up on display.
still, she’s petty and she grabs a two of the experimental drugs she was to deliver and force-feeds them to the nearest people to her. the people turn into beasthumans, like she had said they would, but with a dangerously short life. they’ve got twenty minutes at best. )
Tragedy~ We’re going to have ourselves a tragedy~ Do you see that, my babies? ( she points to the fleeing tomislava ) Go get her and don’t stop until you die.

What a cute child! Hello, cute child! What’s your name?
[ Ian shrugged. ]
Got better things to do.
Like what?
[ Tomislava blocks as much as she can with the knife while also backing off, starting to run. She puts as many obstacles between her and Alana as she can while running. ]
( alana pushes whatever is too heavy to throw at her directly to the side, but her pace never slows. in fact, it seems like she’s getting faster as the chase continues. )
Don’t think I ever read a self-help book.
Never? You seem far too old to have never even perused one.
Yeah, exactly.
Self-help books are sort of an interesting middle ground. While most are shameless, shameful cash grabs, there’s an element of personality to it.
What to do in this situation? That’s the question.
[ At that, anger flares in her, giving her something to distract from the pain. The headbutts daze her a little, but not so much that she doesn’t block the kick her her knife, willing to stab Alana’s foot to avoid another blow.
Meanwhile, there are sirens a few blocks away. ]
( she pauses her kick and instead steps on her foot. she’s confident lorina’s money could get her out of anything, so the sirens don’t even faze her. it’s not like she hears them anyway.
she let’s go of the hand she held and starts throwing lefts and rights. alana realizes there’s still a knife, but she doesn’t care. she only cares about beating this woman’s face in, whatever happens after can be fixed. )

You again. It’s good to see you, but fuck you, you broke my wrist. I’d repay the favor but I wish tragedy on no one.
[ She cries out, but doesn’t submit. She spits in Alana’s face. ]
I don’t take anything peacefully.
( she wipes her face with her sleeve. for a moment, her face twists in anger, but then she smiles. and headbutts tomi twice in response. )
Fine, thank you, fuck you. Make it fun for me. ( she steps back, maintaining her death grip on tomi’s hand and raises her right foot to kick her in the face. )
Real people give better advice than pieces of paper.
It’s much more, much more personal to here it from a person. If they care, it’s advice you can use, it’s not general.
[ She fires another shot before Alana reaches her. But gunshots are like setting of a timer; it’s only a matter of time before police arrive.
Tomislava does her best to hold on to the gun with one hand while pulling out a knife with the other, slashing at Alana’s face. ]
( she’s ready now, there’s no way she’ll be shot when she’s actively trying to dodge it, not with her reflexes, but the knife gets her cheek before she moves her head.
alana glares at her and, instead of reaching for the gun, she just crushes the woman’s hand in hers. )
Quit it. Take your punishment peacefully.
Yeah, I guess. I dunno about businesses, though.
I don’t either. That’s a lie -- I don’t know a lot, though, that’s truth. But if I ever wanted to, I would probably take advice from a real person.
