“We are not… ‘a thing’, I assure you.” Kiibo didn’t even know a word to define their relationship, but ‘a thing’ certainly wasn’t the word he was looking for. “Who is Pussy?”
“Yeah, well, maybe stop actin’ like it and assumin’ everyone’s goddamn business,” she huffs, crossing her obscenely long arms. “Her girlfriend, duh! She’s like... A faunus or whatever y’call it, Yang told me before. She’s got cat ears is what I’m sayin’. So, Yang already has a love, and it’s pussy!”
“‘Ey, buttplug, if y’say one more thing about Yang and I, I’m gonna assume that you and the purple rat are a thing!” She’s ready to bite this guy’s shiny metal ass. “Shut yer trap, she’s in love with pussy, not me!”
PEACOCK HAS ACQUIRED THE CHOCOLATE! Time to chow down like nobody’s business! Weiss ain’t too bad after all. However, she stops partway through, mouth full of chocolate as she speaks to the other.
“... What teeth?” she asks, looking up at the other quizzically. “Y’think these babies are real?”

God, it’s such a hassle to leave the club alone, even for a little bit. Sometimes Peacock has to restock or accept a shipment somewhere outside of the club, so in those cases, she usually lets someone else close the club for her. It’s not like she doesn’t trust Yang or anything! More like she feels the need to be around her, and she doesn’t know how to describe it.
Usually, Peacock hangs around with Yang while she closes up shop. The first few times, it was just to make sure nobody made a mistake under her watch—Yang worked for YV for some time, so no duh she’d be able to do it without any slip-ups, but it was a good enough excuse to hang around and watch the blonde do her thing. It’s hard for the tween to admit to herself that she needs the company (especially since she isn’t too close to anyone else in this damn city), so saying she had to stay behind because she’s a boss worked as a good excuse for a while.
It was obvious that Yang liked having the girl around very much, even with her other friends around too. Obtaining a friendship with Peacock is something not a lot of people get to do unless they had some relation to her beforehand, so feeling this close to anyone is strange. She hadn’t had a best friend since Marie, so feeling all of that a second time around is difficult to come to terms with. It’s not something they ever spoke about out loud either, so that makes it even worse!
Communication is not exactly Peacock’s strong point. She talks a big game, but she doesn’t always get into the nitty-gritty of what’s going on inside of her head.
It’s even harder to speak when she comes back to a dimly lit club and two dead bodies on the floor, one of which is her goddamn friend.
“... Ah.”
Peacock wants to believe she’s completely numb to seeing this sort of thing. In a sense, she is—dead bodies in general don’t shake her up, and honestly, seeing Korekiyo’s corpse makes her feel absolutely nothing. She shoves his body aside, and even if it’s spreading blood all over her club’s floor, she can’t bring herself to care. She attempts to shake Yang awake, hoping for even a few seconds that there’s a chance she’s still alive, but when she gets no response, it almost feels as if she can’t breathe herself.
Peacock’s strong. It’s not difficult to handle this situation. She doesn’t even feel sad, just... Empty? It’s a vaguely familiar feeling, and as she stands up with Yang’s body in her arms, she leaves the club, not bothering to lock it and leaving the other corpse to rot on the floor. Peacock couldn’t care less about what happens to her establishment—she can replace whatever it is.
Even if the girl’s dead, there’s something the hospital might be able to do, right? There’s a chance she can come back to life, even if it seems uncertain? She wouldn’t be alive right now if someone didn’t feel the same about her in her near-death state. Maybe with a bit of work, she’ll be back too...?
...
When was the last time Peacock felt anything, anyway?
Devon whomst? I’ll try and do some replies/posts today. In the meantime, I’m trying to rev up my RP Twitter again since everyone else seems to be! Free feel to follow.
“ If I wasn’t, the lights in your club would probably be dead for good. You want a sheep to fix that for you? “ He’s sure to be as careful as he can be, despite the fact that she could probably punch him out faster than he could was very real for the skeleton. Metal isn’t funny stuff, after all, especially if six parts of it are blinking at you. “ Just try to find the cherry, Peacock. “
“ This is no problem at all. “ Gaster says, giving it a final glance over before letting her arm go and plopping right down into the seat next to her. “ The owner of the prestigious Venuz Patrol should look spic and span at all times, yes? “
“ It’s still up to you, in the end. But I’d be happy to help. “
“I mean. If a sheep could, that’d be impressive. Pretty damn sure they’re all too dumb and fingerless to do any good.” Peacock sighs, hand on her cheek as she decides to keep drinking the milkshake and find the supposed hidden cherry in the drink. She stops, looking at the other. “Hey, ain’t cherries supposed t’be on top?”
Peacock leans back in her seat a bit, sighing letting her freed arm fall to her side. Looks like she’s gotten herself in quite a pickle—while she does need the help, the cyborg can’t get it out of her head that accepting help from such an old guy would be admitting defeat! Defeat of what, exactly?
... Uhhh.
“... How come you wanna help me, anyway? I ain’t yer kid or nothin’.”
What’s that supposed to be? Pinocchio didn’t know- he’d never seen something like it before! Initially, he takes a step back when the girl shoves it at him (and almost into his mouth, nonetheless!) and holds up his hands in self defense, as if he’s to shove it away in rejection.
But she continues to pursue him, trying to get him to take it. Something about it gives him a bad feeling in his gut, but the consistent begging is enough for him to give in as he takes the cigar from her hands and accepts it. “Th-Thank you, I suppose!”
“Hey, don’t sweat it! I got a boatload of these bad boys.” To illustrate her point, Peacock reaches into her hat and takes out another cigar, twirling it between her fingers before lighting it and taking a big puff of smoke from it. She seems pretty damn satisfied with this—hell, she holds out her lighter and lights his up for him, too! Not like he’d know any better.
Still grinning, she sizes the boy up, her six eyes looking him up and down. “Yer Pinocchio, right? Loved yer movie.”
Is... She just reenacting what Pinocchio’s been through!? Peacock, he hasn’t gone to Pleasure Island! Why are you like this.
“ If I knew that there was a monetary penalty for wanting to see my friend despite being a newcomer, I wouldn’t have come at all. “
“ She doesn’t seem to be here anyway, so I don’t see any reason why I should stay, especially if you only want me to buy you overpriced, glorified ice cream. “
“That ain’t my problem. Yer here, you could’ve easily left as soon as I asked, yet here you are!”
“Y’know Yang’s my friend too, right? Not sure what she’ll say if I tell her you refused to get me a drink. Prrrobably wouldn’t be pretty!”
“During work hours,” Hajime repeated, glancing over the old contract before sliding it back over to Peacock. “I’ll take it.”
Preferably he would have liked to not be called names ever, but he knew better than to ask for a miracle. He was relieved that he would be keeping his job. He had enough things to worry his head over as it was. Looking around YV’s– or, uh, Peacock’s private room, he thought back on the memories he had made in Venuz Patrol already.
“If I could take up another moment of your time, there is something else I would like to ask you as well. Why did YV leave? And how?”
Hajime would be lying if he said he wasn’t sad YV had packed his bags and left without as much as a goodbye. Their relationship hadn’t extended beyond that of a employer and employee, but that wasn’t to say Hajime didn’t care about YV.
“It would have been nice if I could have seen him one last time.”
“Good! It’s settled, then.” She grabs the (mildly important) piece of paper, and files it back where she got it from. Er, well, she thinks it’s where she got it out from. There are a lot of papers in this desk.
Whenever Hajime asks about YV, however, Peacock goes silent. It’s unusual for anyone to drive this toon to silence, but the fact that he managed to means something. Mostly, it’s because she’s unsure of how to word it. Not realizing she’s been staring at her employee absentmindedly, Peacock sits up a bit, folding her hands.
She hesitates.
“I... Don’t know.” God, does she hate admitting this. It makes her look incompetent! Arguably, she is pretty damn incompetent when it comes to club ownership, but those are just details. “He just mentioned how he was gonna be leavin’, gave me the keys, then. Left.”
Saying it out loud makes it sound worse than it is. Peacock hasn’t exactly practiced what to say to people who knew YV, but jeez! She didn’t think people would actually ask! why can’t people just accept somethin’ without questionin’ it? Can’t they just accept that she’s in control now!?
( ... She’d ask too if she were in Hajime’s position.)
“Didn’t tell me why or how, just left. I couldn’t tell ya why he didn’t say goodbye to you, I assumed he did. Sucks.”
hey its not mado here to shower you in love // yellow, orange, red, magenta, silver // luv u dev i will return One Day

Devon (crying)
MADO!! Thank you so much!! I love your writing too, and I’m awaiting the day you come back to grace us with your presence!! All of my muses will be here when you’re ready.
Red(I read your entire blog last night haha) and I would say White but social anxiety ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Red: I admire your writing and stories from afar. Just know I always read them.
Ah, really?? Thank you so much, I’m glad Peacock was interesting enough for you to read the entirety of my blog! I genuinely mean that, I’m flattered.
Also: we can roleplay if you want, I don’t mind! I tend to fall behind in threads (and unintentionally drop some, oops), but if you have an idea for a starter for me on any of my muses, just let me know! It’s easier if someone else starts an RP, but I can if you want!
“... No, listen to what I’m sayin’! Y’ain’t listenin’!”
Geez, who the hell is this girl, anyways? First she comes in asking about some triangle that isn’t even in the city anymore, and now Peacock’s being interrogated about where he could be? Shit, this is going to take some convincing on her end. Luckily, she’s pretty good at that! ... Usually. It’s kind of difficult when you’re at a loud nightclub, especially when you’re both sitting at the bar.
While Peacock’s refraining from drinking (so far), Lucy’s got some sort of fruity drink. ... She might order that herself later.
“I’m the owner of Venuz Patrol now, got it?” She’s almost tempted to ask how such a young girl like her got into the club, but seeing as how young she is, that probably would only hurt her case. This girl is awfully persistent, but so is Peacock! This is going to take a while. “No, I don’t know where the triangle flew off to! I just know he ain’t in the city anymore. Look, if yer just here to question me about some guy that doesn’t live here anymore, take a hike!”
Already at the end of her rope? How long have they been having this conversation!?
Yellow: Your writing is great! Keep it up!Magenta: I aspire to write like you.
H-HEWWO??? HEWWO?????????
Thank you so much Tobi, I feel the same way about your writing! I love interacting with Wataru so much in DV, so I hope he and Peacock end up threading in SteCi as well sometime soon!
