Sketch dump of various doodles from TTRPG games that ended.
just thew some sloppy colors on this, hitting "I don't wanna look at it anymore." stage.
These are raw sloppy scans of a comic called “Teeth Dreams” I worked on about a year and half ago during a particularly anxious time. No script or thumbs, I just jumped straight into working on pages on the fly. The project was solely for reaching catharsis. When I was coming out of the end of that period of my life, I was having a hard time completing and figuring out a way to wrap it up. My cats jumped on the drawing table while I was at work, you can see painted paw prints on one of the pages, I chose to take that as a sign I got what I needed from the project and decided to move on.
Coming back to them later, they aren't too bad, wonky layouts and shaky lettering aside.
Some quick n messy test pages, Old Old Webcomic idea "Ms Ultimate" which I think would be fun to revisit now that I understand more about not only comics, but what I'm actually going for beyond "I need to make a comic". I'd want this comic to feel like chewing on a jolly rancher.
I wanted to jump into the action parts since I struggle with action scenes and just focused on making this as fun as possible for me to draw and a "kill your darlings" mentality. If I'm gonna do a webcomic at some point I gotta aim for not burning out. Keep it at like 40%-ish.
Text is lyrics from "Fancy Footwork" by Chromeo, the vibe I'd go for in fight scenes. Trying also not to care about wearing my inspirations on my sleeve for this. This would be a gift to my younger self. I want it to be the kinda comic that ignited my love of the medium in the first place.
Decided to toss some sloppy colors on here and use it as an experiment on a different way to build a palette. Still not real happy with it, but it was a fun process at least.
Lazy scanned sketch book dump
A Mini Zine I made about a year back. It's a collection of posts from the Minneapolis Craigslist Missed Connections page and I made little illustrations for. I hope to do another one at some point.
Sketchbook stuff
Doodlin' around in the sketchbook this morning.
I don't think I'm ever gonna finish this,but I figured I'd share the raw(ish) scan.
I made myself sad drawing this, so I'm attacking you all with it too. There's a 3 volume BL slice of life here about the happenings at Londo Bell.
I feel like some of you guys think "bad art" is like someone gluing rhinestones to a water melon, or a guy who made his own armchair out of Ohio license plates, or a trashy romance novel where someone says "the blue-eyed one kissed the brown-eyed one," when in reality bad art is a 1000000 Billion Dollar movie where none of the workers got paid and every single creative decision was market tested to see how lucrative of a profit it could foreseeably make to wow shareholders.
Insincere, passionless, money-hungry art is almost always bad art
Thinkin' bout Pinn pre-vamp life. Sketchin' out her(dead) boyfriend Jay.
I can finally share my Sonia doodles from literally last year (and a few months ago)! She's so fun to draw :p
