Smith-ing It Up | Ian * Aria
âBecause youâre a woman?â He scoffed dramatically, moving his head from side to side. âNow thatâs just a bit sexist that youâd assume Iâd be saying such thing because of your gender.â His lips rose up in a smirk. Looking down momentarily at her legs around his waist he was debating his next move when her question pulled his attention back to her, raising a brow. âThatâs just what you are.â He answered. How many years she had on herself, wouldnât come close to what Killian had, it was that simple. As she went on to speak he focused his eyes on her, without a single reaction to however she chose to make her hands busy with. Neither was there a reaction from him when he felt her lips pressed against his for the seconds that she kept herself there. He felt pity for those around her that lacked the inability to withstand the circles she mustâve ran around them. Everyone now and days wanted to be the one in control, so much so that theyâd get overly confident. Killian might like having control, but he was always aware that heâd meet his match one day. Of course Aria wasnât that, but it was amusing for Killian to watch how she worked. With her quick moves that ended with Killian being on the ground he winced slightly from the pain his head felt but quickly refocused his attention with the brunette moved on top of him. Her theory just made him chuckle since she had been right. If he wanted to, he could show her just how much age did matter. âSo many questions, so much curiosity going on in that head of yours for little olâ me.â He finally broke his silence, filled with sarcasm dripping from each of his words. âAnd for someone so paranoid about things, asking me, expecting me to give you some answers really just doesnât make any sense. Marcelâs done a poor job of raising you if thatâs his tactics coming through.â His last comment was just as calculated as anything else. Besides, knowing who it was she had her loyalties too wasnât far fetched, more than half the vampires in town reported back to Marcel. Raising his head up with force he knocked his forehead against hers hard enough that itâd cause her enough pain to focus on before shoving her off of him forcefully and flashing up. Looking down at where she had landed his hands moved to adjust his shirt, smiling down at her. âIf you had the slightest idea of what I needed, I mightâve considered the offer.â
He seemed so certain with his words, like it wasnât even possible for her to be older than he was, which only made her wonder just how old he really was. It didnât make her fearful, but a little caution would be smart, Aria didnât want to fight in an angry manner, but she suddenly started to question how far she could push before that playful spark in him was replaced by rage. A sane woman wouldnât even try to find out, but sane wasnât really something Aria was anymore. The thought that she could push him too far excited her in the sense that she wanted to find out if she could keep a grip on his calmer side. Rather like poking the bear, but not hard enough to wake it. Dangerous, sure, and it wasnât even that she was confident she could win, it was more so that she didnât really care if she lost that made her dangerous. Pulled from her thoughts, her eyes snapped down to him at the mention of Marcel, way too distracted by his comment to even notice the obvious move he was making. With a gasp and a groan, her hands slammed into the pavement to stop her face hitting the floor. The pain in her head quickly subsided, but it still made her pout as she rolled onto her ass and sat there like a huffy little princess. âOuch?â she scoffed, letting out a half laugh. âIâm not trying to be tactful, and honestly...â she paused as she pressed a hand against her head and bringing it back to look, just making sure he hadnât split her skin. â...Iâm not paranoid either, Iâm curious, whatâs wrong with asking questions? It doesnât mean I expect honesty, but if I donât ask Iâd never have the chance to get, would I?â she took a breath and looked over at him. Why did he think Marcel has an interest in him? âYouâre right, maybe I donât have any idea, but you could always just tell me straight out, that is after all why I made the comment. I wasnât implying I already knew.â Aria smirked as she jumped up and smoothed down her clothes before taking slow steps towards him. She hated mysteries, they only ever ended with surprises which she hated all the more. "I just want to know what makes you tick. Purely for entertainment purposes, of course. You know, hobbies, thrills, what brings a smile to that dark soul? Curiosity might have killed the cat, but you know what they say about satisfaction.â

âI know that,â he stated promptly in affirmation of her response. Unfazed by her refusal of his words, as expected, Marcel just continued to remain perfectly still as he listened intently to everything else that was spilled from her lips. He nodded his head every so often, freezing mid-point once he caught onto a very vital part of her rant. âWait, hang onâ,â he insisted, raising his hand out in front of him in an effort to stop her from continuing any further. Stealing a step forward, his expression shifted into one of disbelief which was evident through his almond-shaped eyes. âShe threatened you?â he repeated. Forcing himself to bite his tongue when she didnât so much as hesitate to continue her rant, he remained perfectly silent as a series of thoughts coursed through his mind. His eyes snapped opened wider a second time when he realized how willingly she managed to surrender herself when it came to Alyssa. He inadvertently clenched his jaw as the tears streamed down her cheeks once more, vanishing just as quickly as they had appeared. Straightening up his posture at the forewarning she provided for her sister, the vampire leader inhaled sharply through his nostrils as his expression grew solemn. âWeâll cross that bridge once we get to it,â he prompted assertively, his expression hardened at the idea of yet another being frolocking about the Quarter while wreaking havoc as they wish. Pursing his lips as the last of her words began to sink in with him, his eyes flickered back and forth between her doe, brown eyes as he allowed a momentarily hesitation to pass between the two. Sighing exasperatedly nearly a minute later, he shrugged his shoulders in defeat. âYeah. Yeah, I got your back, A. You know I do,â he affirmed, his voice low to show the solemnity of his words.
Aria curled her lips, giving him an almost confused expression. Why was he commenting on her sisters threat? - A strangers threat, sure, but - this was Alyssa. Her own blood... Why was it important? A threat was a threat, but her sister was her family. Her only living blood family. Aria didnât really understand why anything could be more important than the fact she was alive, after the elder Hale had spent so long thinking her dead. âSheâs a part of me, Marcel. The old me, sure but...â she paused, slouching her shoulders. âIâve blamed myself for the better part of fifty years now. I thought my need for affection was what got her killed and.. maybe thatâs true...â she stepped to him, her eyes showing things that she hadnât shown in decades. Fear. Fear over what she or Marcel may have to do to stop her. Pain. Pain just from the mere thought of finding her and losing her once more. But the most important one... She was pleading. Silently. Pleading for Marcel to show mercy and look the other way if Alyssa was to break the rules. The younger vampire appeared a little dazed as she looked down, away from her leaders eyes. âI donât know how to be who she remembers. I wonât be either, because thatâs not who I am now. Iâll show her who I am. Iâll let her see it all, but just knowing sheâs alive...â Aria sucked in a sharp breath as she choked up. âYou and the army.. Youâve always been my family, but sheâs my blood. I pretended like I wasnât bothered that she blamed me, or hated me but...â she swallowed harshly, struggling to get the words out. Aria knew she didnât even need to explain to him how hard it was for her to not only be so open, but openly be so damn vulnerable. There was no one else she would ever trust to see her in this state. âIt... hurtsâ she managed to spit out as she tightened her fists. âI want her with me, not against me, but Iâm scared that her hatred for me runs so deep that Iâm going to have to do something I wonât ever come back from... and I just need you to know that if that happens...â Aria breathed shakily, finally daring to look up at him as she prepared herself to say something she never imagined she would. Those six words in her head that wouldnât just let him know how serious she was, but also how deeply and willingly her care came into play when it came to her sibling. â... I want you to kill me.â Ariaâs words came out strong and assertive, just to amplify the fact she wasnât confused or saying it out of guilt. âIf you donât, thereâs no telling what kind of destruction I will do. You might not think Iâm a monster, but ending her will make me into something much worse.... You might not admit it, but we both know its true. Iâve lived through blaming myself for my families death, but being the one who actually sticks the stake in... I wouldnât want to live past that.â
Smith-ing It Up | Ian * Aria
âNice jaw line? Thatâs how you determined if someone should live or die? I guess you wonât be killing me any time soon.â Killian huffed out a laugh in response. Sure she had been his target to hold a conversation with the other night, figuring out a little bit about her, but tonight she had simply been in his way. He couldâve walked away from the whole situation and it wasnât as if he felt the need to prove anything to her but for whatever reason he stuck around. Now that he had made the first move, stepping away and walking off no longer seemed like an option to him. Especially not with the way she responded to him having pressed her up against the wall, by flipping the situation around and feeling his own back against it now. A smile crept onto his features as he looked down at her. Killian didnât bother to fight for the dominance in that moment. If anything, he enjoyed it, there was always something about a women taking control that hit the spot for him. His eyes glanced down at her leg between his, then looked back up at her leaning his head back, resting the back of it against the wall with a laugh escaping him. âSweetheart you havenât seen nothing yet.â Overpowering her wouldâve been easy, getting the situation over and done with wouldâve been easy. Easy just never appealed to him. âAs much as I love a good fight,â His left foot gave her other leg a push to cause her to lose her balance and have to bring her other leg down to regain it but instead of letting her his hands gripped at her waist roughly, lifting her up, then directing her legs to wrap around his waist before he once again slammed her back into the same wall. âIt wouldnât be much of a fair fight.â His hands gripped tightly at her legs, while his eyes jumped between each of hers. âBeing man enough doesnât fall under giving into the taunting of a little girl.â He mocked her, teasingly.
âWell not that I need a reason but.. yeah.. thatâs it, cute smile too.â Aria tilted her head to the side, letting her long hair fall over to one side. She merely rolled her eyes as he complimented himself, not about to agree and say he was right - which he was. He did have quite a nice face. The vampire liked to think she was good at reading people. Reading what they felt even if it didnât show on their surface. It was her specialty, for a long time now, Aria had studied people, watching every inch of them and how they react to certain things. However, she was well aware that not everybody gives off the vibes she can work out, especially if theyâre confident, or hiding something. With her hands against his chest, amusement danced in her eyes as she silently hoped for something exciting to happen. Anything to take her mind off her vengeful sister back from the dead. âNo?â she almost challenged him, eager, but not too eager to find the thing that would excite him the most. Not saying that she could stop him if she tried, but she allowed him to kick her leg away and ultimately gain the upper hand. With a smirk dancing on her lips as he picked her up with no effort at all, she tangled her legs around his waist and relaxed into him. Aria wasnât stupid, in her mind she knew she could have good reason to fear him, after all, he was a vampire and depending on his age, he might easily over power her every move should she choose to make a violent assault. However, she wasnât afraid, fear wasnât an emotion she carried anymore. Once you accept possible death under any circumstance, at any time, without any sort of care for it, there really wasnât any reason to fear a thing - not in her eyes. âI hope you mean that youâre older than I, because if you meant that because Iâm a woman, youâre not going to appreciate the damage I will do to your jewels.â Aria raised both brows as she whispered a mere inch away from his lips. When he gripped tighter on her legs, she arched her back instinctively, keeping that soft smirk on her lips for a few seconds after he made his last comment. âIs that what I am to you? A little girl?â her mouth parted as she curled her tongue up, letting it press against her teeth through the sheer joy on her face. âTell me, have you ever heard the old saying, age doesnât matter? Granted itâs mainly used by the scum of society to justify their illegal relationships but... I donât believe in it. I have a better motto...â Aria drooped her eyes down to his lips as her hand moved to let her fingers trace his neck. Letting herself appear slightly distracted, she smiled softly, brushing her nose against his as she pressed her cherry red lips against his. The kiss was quick, no passion, no heat, purposely, just to leave the possible outcome a mystery. âMy motto..â she hummed, moving her head back to look at him, she dropped her arms at her sides. âStrength means nothing, itâs about deception and maybe sheer luck.â The younger vampires eyes danced with dark humor once more, but just as quickly as he could see that, her hands had moved behind her and pressed against the wall, using most her strength to shove him back a little. With the new space, she tightened her thighs around his waist and flipped her body backwards, taking him with her. Unsure how long he would stay down - that was if he would stay down at all, she didnât even let her own body collide with the concrete, she instantly flashed to him, moving herself into a sitting up straddle position as her hand pressed against his stomach. âNow I know youâre holding back on me, cutie. See, maybe this is all that paranoia talking, but I feel like every move I make is only playing out because youâre allowing it...â she leaned forward, keeping a few inches from his face. âSo.. Am I right... or am I wrong? - But before you answer, you should know that either way doesnât really bother me. If you give me what I want I might give you what you needâ she pouted her lips, her eyes boring into his, fueled with an unspoken need for action.Â

Listening to Ariaâs story caused Marcel to grow more tense with each word. It was clear just how much she held bottled up since the time of the incident, and for that reason the elder vampire was clouded with a sense of compassion the more intently he listened. The mere mentioning of Thomasâ name caused his hands to involuntarily ball into fists instinctively at the fact that he was the source behind a majority of Ariaâs pain. He immediately snapped his gaze up at her as she leapt out of her seat, his eyes remaining on hers. As the tears she had been struggling to abstain pooled out of her eyes, he immediately rose to his feet as he flashed himself over to her. âHey, heyâRelax,â he cooed out softly, reeling her into an embrace without hesitation. It pained him to see anyone that he cared for in such distressâespecially if that somebody lacked more emotion than the entirety of his army put together. He kept her in his hold for a few while longer as she continued to mumble defeatedly against his torso. Pulling himself away from her as he took in her appearance, the corner of his lips fell into a distinct frown as his eyes traveled all over her moistened features. âYouâre not a monster, A,â he finally spoke after allowing a brief pause to pass between the two. His words flowed effortlessly out of his lips in an attempt to reassure the younger vampire of any doubts she mightâve been entailing. âNor was it your fault. Shit happens, right? No way you couldâve known. You were doinâ what you thought was best for you, which is exactly how itâs gotta be sometimes. I canât say I know how you feel becauseâŚWell, I donât. But you are one of the strongest people I have ever met. Your personality is somethinâ that I truly admireâeven though you get on my last nerve at times,â he added playfully, twitching his lips into a small smile in an attempt to lighten the mood. As her expression remained unphased, he exhaled softly through his lips before clearing his throat. âI know it might seem like the end of the world right now, A, but itâs not. Itâs still a fresh wound so this vulnerability that youâre feelinâ nowâitâs natural. Bottom line is, you were never a selfish bitch. Your instinct is to survive, and thatâs exactly what you did. I know you regret the things thatâve happened to your sis but at the end of the dayâthere was nothinâ you couldâve done.â Allowing his words to sink in as he drew a few moments of silence to himself, he inhaled deeply before continuing. âTalk to her. Talk to your sister, A. Sheâll understandâyou gotta give her time. Sheâs your sister after all andâI know she loves you.â Removing his hands off of her as he allowed them to fall to his sides. âAs for me, Iâm gonna find out that lil piece of information youâre lookinâ for. I promise.â
Aria flinched when she turned and found Marcel right in-front of her. Her body tensed as he pulled her into him. It wasnât that she was afraid, she wasnât scared of Marcel, absolutely not - what she was afraid of was her own emotions. Part of her couldnât believe she was showing her weakness and the other part of her knew that her leader was the best person to turn to. She wouldnât trust anyone else. Not with this. Marcel was the only person alive, excluding her sister now, that had seen her cry. Her shoulders slouched defeatedly against his embrace for just a few moments before he pulled back to look at her. It was hard for her not to turn her face away from him, she felt embarrassed - like being weak was a sin. It was her sin. âYou really believe that, donât you?â she mumbled, giving him a very faint smile. She had done horrible things in her time and even worse things whilst she was away - the things that shaped her into the cold bitch she had been since she returned. Aria knew Marcel had his ways of finding out everything but, as far as she knew, he had no idea of the carnage she had caused during her time off. Listening to his words, she nodded along, appreciating the fact he was trying to sooth her mind. They probably both knew he couldnât, but the fact he tried actually did help. It reminded her that no matter how much she tries to handle things along, she really does have people who will be there for her in her times of need, and right now - she had never needed anybody more. âYouâre wrongâ she muttered, wrapping her arms around herself when he let her go. âShe doesnât want to hear my side of anything. I tried that - I told her what happened. But she already knew, - she knew I didnât know she had drank his blood, she just blames me anyway. Told me she wonât fight me herself but sheâs basically going to send people after meâ she laughed, even though a couple more tears fell from her face. âImagine me with no humanity...â Aria looked up towards him. âI care as little as possible but I control most of me because of you - she doesnât have that. Sheâs free after five decades and sheâs out for blood. My bloodâ she shrugged. rubbing at her arm. âI told her to do it -- Try it, whatever - I donât care what she throws at me. I donât even care if she succeeds. Anything is better than her being dead.â The vampire chewed on her lip and wiped the tears from her cheeks. âI should warn you though - I donât think sheâs going to abide by the rules here, or even try and cover up if she breaks them so... Iâm not asking you to give her a pass but if you learn that, that is what sheâs doing can you tell me first? Public executions may be a thing of your past but I donât want you or anyone in this family touching herâ she shook her head. âIf I canât get a hold on her, no one else can, and Iâll deal with her myself - But I have hope.â Aria breathed in slowly. âI think I can get through to her in time. She acts like sheâs so far gone but I donât think she is. Or maybe that hope is blinding me, who knows. I just want to try. If I canât break through her shell then...â she shrugged. âIâll deal with her myself. I donât want nobody else involved... You can understand that, right?â she asked quietly.Â
Smith-ing It Up | Ian * Aria
Kilian was just about ready to pull the fellas head apart from his body with the way he had decided to get smart with him. It was strange how cocky the weak got, as if dying with a smart mouth was really any better than dying quietly. In his eyes, dying at all was the weak part and if it ever came to that for Killian heâd go with silent last words to himself. However, his plans were derailed the moment he heard someone approaching which only made him inhale deeply from irritation. Hearing the voice, he knew just exactly who he was dealing with, so he didnât bother looking at her at first. His eyes remained on the male he had struggling to breath from the way his fingers pressed around his neck until Killian finally released him from his hold. Turning to look at the brunette he ran his tongue over his bottom lip, rolling his shoulders as to release the tension that had built the moment she stopped someone from dying at his hands and he didnât respond to her either. He figured heâd let her talk until she got what she wanted out and with each word she spoke it was apparent the type of woman he was dealing with. Truthfully the way she carried herself, made it tempting for Killian to try and persuade her to join the strix since she figured heâd fit right in, granted sheâd be on the younger side but it wouldnât be the first time. Except, she wasnât the one he was meant to convince, Marcel was. âYou didnât mention the other night that you were the nanny for the babies running around here acting like they own a piece of this world.â He formed a smile as he stepped toward her, his head tilting to one side. âAy, I never said I was a gentlemen or not dangerous if anything I was saying I was, the truth didnât change the fact that you were all types of paranoid.â He shrugged stopping with only an inch of space between the two of them, tilting his head down now, keeping his eyes on hers. âGranted, for all the right reasons,â his hand reached up to her waist and with one swift move her back met the wall with a bit of force knowing she could handle it. âAnd youâve got some damage in your eyes ya know? Really makes them pop.â
The smaller brunette couldnât resist the sarcastic eye roll when he made a comment about her protecting the vampire. It wasnât about protecting him, not really, not even at all actually - She only saved him because she knew it was expected in the army, she did it out of respect for her leader, nothing else. âYeah well he had a nice jaw line, itâs half a reason to let him live through the night at the very least?â Aria snorted in amusement, giving a shake of her head. She wasnât about to tell him why she stopped him, telling people she was a part of a vampire army wasnât something she really shared with others. The younger vampire could only laugh softly when he mentioned her paranoia, to which she merely shrugged her shoulders and gave him a soft shrug as he moved into her space. When he admitted she had been right, it didnât surprise her, but at the same time - the word dangerous could mean a lot of things in different peoples eyes, so to say she had him figured would be a huge lie. Feeling the grip on her waist before she noted his arm move, she instantly prepped herself for some sort of collision, so when she hit the wall, she only moved her hand up to press against his chest, giving him a slight smirk. The action didnât hurt, not much did these days. âWell I do my best, Ian...â Aria blinked her eyes innocently, since he had made a comment about them. However, within seconds, her face twisted the same time her knee did. She had brought it up in a swift motion to his left side, maybe not enough to hurt him, but enough to make him flinch long enough for her to get an upper hand. When his body flinched, she gripped his shirt and spun them around, using her hands to press him into the wall and moving her leg between his. Aria moved her leg upwards, so her knee was evenly in the middle of his legs, just to say pressing against his crotch. Maybe half to make him wonder, and half to make him fear her possible actions. âI hope thatâs not all you got, I was hoping for some actionâ she tilted her head, the expression on her face merely playful. Aria had got the impression he was older than her, but she couldnât be sure, not unless she really saw him in action, so she was playing her cards carefully - being sure not to anger him. âTake that whichever way you want. Or both ways... I mean, thatâs if youâre feeling man enough.â The brunette lifted and dropped her brow in amusement, keeping her hands lightly pressed against his chest.
Smith-ing It Up | Ian * Aria
Strutting through the street on her way to work, Aria had tried hard all day to clear her mind. Finding out her sister was alive with a vengeance towards her wasnât something she took lightly, but she knew life goes on and so must the show. As she cut a few corners, her head turned towards the small commotion nearby, causing her to creep towards the scene out of curiosity. To her surprise, she saw none other than the male she had confronted just the other night, along with one of the new vampires Marcel had recruited. Aria rolled her eyes, knowing she had a duty to Marcel to help the newbie out, despite how much she just wanted to stand there and watch the ego fueled man die. Ian was quite clearly stronger, but just how strong? How old was he? The petite vampire made herself known by clacking her heels against the pavement as she drew closer. âWhy donât you pick on someone your own size?â she smirked towards Ian. When he released the newbie, she glanced towards him and nodded her head in a motion that signaled for him to run for the hills. Once he flashed away, she moved a few steps closer with a confident stride. âOr, perhaps someone half a foot smaller with nice hair and a damn fine body will do?â Aria kept the smirk on her lips. She was more than ready to get a little heated, just like always, but the need for some fire was burning brighter than it usually was, and only she knew exactly why. The amusement on her face would hopefully let him know she wasnât angry, in-fact, she was just looking for a good distraction. âThat guyâs an egotistical asshole, but heâs young.. Let him have a few drinks and see the sunset before you decapitate him, itâs just good mannersâ she shrugged her shoulders. She didnât want to fight to the death, that was apparent by her teasing tone - but a little action would be a good way for her to let off some steam. âSo... Are you gonna take me on or not? No need to be a gentleman, Iâve been here long enough to know those donât exist and, in my defense, I did say it the first time we met. Those eyes. They are indeed dangerous.â

Sighing heavily at her response, he nodded his head once in affirmation as he began following closely behind her lead towards the office. Closing the door behind her as he crossed his arms over his chest, âLose the attitude, Aria,â he warned her, his voice still calm despite the subtle threat behind his words. He knew better than to tick her off more than she already was, but he was already in a mood himself. Not only had he been attempting to uncover the people that were behind Julian and his roommateâs attack, but now heâs come to find that a Strix member had decided to pay the town a visit all the while wreaking havoc as he did so. Snapping his gaze towards her direction at the mentioning of Klaus, he exhaled heavily through his nostrils out of disappointment. âWhy am I not surprised?â he murmured condescendingly, more so to himself than to the brunette. Allowing the words to sink in, he leaned his back against his desk as he tapped his fingers lightly over the tabletop, his eyes traveling all throughout the room as he attempted to make sense of the situation. âGuess it all makes sense then.â Peering back down at her once he caught onto the last bit of her words, he arched a curious brow as he raised his chin slightly in gesture of her to continue. Her eyes remained elsewhere which caused Marcel to grow slightly concern. Of all the years he had come to know the brunette vampire, he knew very well just how condescending she enjoyed to portray herself. She never hesitated to look a vampireâregardless of the ageâdead in their eyes. Her change in demeanor was a surprise for the older vampire, causing him to gradually sit himself down in the seat across from her. âWhat is it?â As he took in her words, he nodded every so often as he began to put the pieces together. âOkay,â he agreed lightly, still unsure as to the reason why she would request such a thing. But as her confession was revealed, his eyes widened in an instant. It was no wonder why the topic was beginning to take such a toll on her. âYourâŚYour sister?â he repeated, not bothering to suppress the surprise from his tone. Clearing his throat as he sat back in his seat, he tore his gaze off of hers as he reverted his eyes elsewhere. âNow thatâs somethinâ worth gettinâ riled up about.â A series of questions coursed through his mind at that point, so many details that were left unshedâbut he opted to give her time to respond instead of prying. âYou know I got your back, A. Iâll see what I can do. ButâŚâ He returned his gaze back to hers as he silently urged her to continue. âSheâs here? In town? How do you know?â
Giving a small nod, Aria pressed her hand against her forehead and closed her eyes. Hearing the words come from someone else only made it all the more real. âShe knewâ the brunette breathed out, looking over at Marcel but still keeping her gaze away from his eyes. âAlyssa knew Thomas was a vampire but she kept it to herself. So I wasnât the only one fooled and yet itâs only me whoâs the bad guy in her eyes. She said when he showed up and --â Aria creased her brows, even now it wasnât easy to talk about. âShe ran upstairs and drank the vile of blood he gave her before he got to herâ she sighed quietly, turning her head away again and swallowing the lump in her throat. âBecause I seen her. She just called my name in the middle of the god damn street like it had only been a day since we spoke.â Aria snarled, feeling her blood bubbling with anger and pain. She always prided herself on her appearance, not letting any weak emotions show, not even in-front of Marcel who had seen her at her very worst. But thatâs what it felt like - it was as if she had traveled backwards and she was in the middle of the weeks she spent crying until she couldnât breathe over the loss of her family. âAugustine captured her about a week after she turned. - I think she only just made it out of the house before it burned to the ground. I didnât know - you know I wouldnât have torched it if I just -- I mean, how long was it? Between my arrival and her waking up? Minutes? Half an hour at the most?â shooting up from her seat she let out a groan and ran her hands through her hair. âEverything that happened to her, she blames me and I.. well, sheâs not entirely wrong, is she? It should have been me. I brought him into our home and I left them all vulnerable to him for weeks before I went to see them.â Ariaâs shoulders slouched in defeat as she finally let the tears run down her face. Though she didnât accept blame in-front of Alyssa, it was because she was trying to hold her defenses. But talking about it - even thinking about it, all she wanted to do was find a black hole and jump in. âI accepted a while ago I was a monster and probably the worst part is that it didnât bother me, but I never wanted to be this kind of monster. Sheâs been ripped apart and abused for decades whilst Iâve been here, clueless and free to walk around with my life and it makes me feel sick. I was so bent on being in love and having what everyone else had that I let the first man to show me love blind me so easily. How fucked up is that? Sheâs broken and all kinds of messed up.. and itâs my fault. My own sister, ruined because I was a selfish bitch even when I thought I wasnât.âÂ
The Hale Sistersâ Reunion
alyssa-hale  :
Alyssa wanted to let out her anger all at once, but even though she despised her sister right now, she couldnât just attack her. She was hurt that she wasnât avenged nor rescued by anyone. Each day she was trapped in her private cell was another day she spent praying to whatever God there was to send her a savior to free her from misery, but each day she was disappointed like the previous day. At one point, she thought about coming up with some scheme to escape with her cell mate, but halfway through the plan, her one friendâs heart was ripped right out of his chest. She mourned him for weeks because he was the last person that she wanted to see die, and from then on, she was completely alone. Not only did she have to deal with physical pain, but also mental pain. Having to feel both at once was far from pleasant. âNo, fuck you,â she snapped back. She was on the verge of letting out the rest of the anger she hid, and with every word that came out of Ariaâs mouth, Alyssaâs tolerance was lowering. âOh no. You dealt with mourning your family? How long did it take you to move on? Iâm placing my bets on a year or two after that night. Since then, you probably resorted to hiding the pain and bottling it up only to throw it into the ocean. Have you cried recently over us? I mean, like really sobbed and lost it? Iâll cut you some slack if you have, but I donât think you would,â she hissed as the veins surrounding her eyes became darker every second. Though she wasnât poisoned with the serum Dr. Maxfield gave Jesse, she did want to attack in that very moment, especially after Aria had suggested she do exactly what she tried to keep herself from doing. âIâm not going to fight you. For one, you would have an unfair advantage over me since Iâve had no fighting experience, and I bet you have. After all, itâs a battle for survival out here with everything thatâs going on. Rather, I want to see you suffer as much as I have. Perhaps I canât bring myself to torture you myself, nor are the Augustine psychopaths open for business anymore, but somehow, Iâm going to figure out how to make you beg for mercy,â Alyssa raged as she dug her fingers into her skin after she curled her fingers into a first. âI honestly donât even see what I was thinking coming here. I may not want to kill you, but I also donât want to have anything to do with you. I hate you, Aria. I canât even call you my sister anymore because of everything that happened. The only thing we have in common is a last name; nothing more.â In her sisterâs defense though, Alyssa couldnât feel many emotions in the first place. She may smile or seemingly express some emotions here and there, but itâs all an act she created to protect herself from the mental pain. It helped her survive and think clearly in order to escape, to fly away. Taking a deep breath, Alyssa slowly backed away from the girl she loved with all her heart years ago. She was far to broken to be capable of feeling any emotions at this point. âThatâs all I have to say. More than I shouldâve said because I never shouldâve sought you out.â Alyssa shook her head and tried to regain her composure, digging her nails into her skin purposefully to focus her attention on slight pain rather than her sister â no, disowned sister, since that was basically what she did without directly saying that they were no longer family. Deep down, the younger girl wanted to cry and hug her sister, to let the tears stream down her olive toned cheeks along with all the pain that she experienced. However, that wasnât an option for she had been too far down the rabbit hole and could not return to become the girl she once was without a great deal of assistance. âI should leave,â she quietly stated, having regained her composure now that she only focused on the self-inflicted pain she continued to cause rather than the situation at hand. Alyssa had learned that she would rather deal with pain than anything with emotions because pain was easier to overcome whereas emotions needed much more effort from her because casting aside her emotions was easier said than done. At some points, she even wished that she had actually turned all of her emotions off; to have taken the easy way out of hall her worries wouldâve been much better than having to talk to her sister like this.
Aria shook her head slowly, eyeing her sister with both personal caution mixed with a sinister smirk. It was obvious now how they clashed together, Aria had her version of right and wrong, and Alyssa had hers. In a way she could understand her sisters hatred and pain, but in her opinion, the hate was barely justifiable. At the mention of how she chose to mourn their family, her brow tweaked. âExcuse me?â she scoffed. âNo tears doesnât mean no grief, Alyssa. I havenât cried in front of anyone since my first year as a vampire, but why should that mean I donât cry at all? Everyone has their dark nights when theyâre alone and they feel like the walls are caving in -- just because you were in a god damn cage doesnât mean other people donât suffer too!â Aria snarled, finding it really irritating that her sister wasnât even open to look at things from her side of it. âI just kinda love how you blame me because deep down Iâm thinking maybe you blame yourself more. You could have told me what he was, told anyone, really - you know for a fact I wouldnât have stayed with him, so maybe thatâs it? Maybe itâs easier for you to place the blame on me because if you didnât you would actually have to take some responsibility too.â The elder Hale tilted her head, narrowing her eyes towards Alyssa. Soon enough, the smirk on her face faded away the more she revealed with her words just how deep the hate ran. âDonât waste your energy, Alyssa. I can tell you right now that you can throw whatever you want at me, thereâs only two things that could happen. Iâll either win, or Iâll die trying - but beg for mercy? That would never happen.â Aria folded her arms, a wash of tiredness coming over her. Like, she suddenly just didnât have the energy to raise her voice, it had sunk in. She was really here. Alive, but it wasnât a happy reunion at all. âCan you even hear yourself? Have you ever in all your time trapped in a cell thought about a logical reason to hate me so much? How can you blame me for your capture when I was never aware you even knew he was a vampire, never mind had some of his blood?â she spoke calmly, if anything, just trying to understand herself. âSo why did you? Come here, I mean? Youâre telling me you escape after fifty years of hell, come all the way here just to tell me you hate me? I got the impression you were vengeful, not pathetic, but maybe I was wrong. You know, take it from me...â she straightened herself up and took steps towards her. Her eyes glanced down at the blood on Alyssaâs palms, but she didnât comment on it. Aria just lifted her own hands up to tuck the hair behind her sisters face, cupping her cheeks. âWe all have our own hell, our own demons and our own trauma. You think yours is more significant just because you were tortured for a few decades? It doesnât work like that. Not around here.â Ariaâs voice was quieter, soothing, almost. Like she could barely hear her own words for being so focused on her sisters face in her grasp. With a quiet in-take of breath, she stepped away and shrugged her shoulders. âLeave if you want, like you said you havenât had much experience with fighting. This probably isnât the city for you. While your attitude is almost admirable it will get you killed if youâre not smart about it. You havenât had much contact with people Iâm betting so if youâre staying, then take this advice. Shut your mouth and observe. Know your surroundings and never judge a book. If youâre going to break the rules donât be so open about it, most vampires people here are way older than you and the witches wonât hesitate to make an example of you to help keep their fold in check. Oh, and you might wanna learn how to defend yourself too if you want to live long enough to try and ruin me.â Aria kept her eyes focused on hers, the reality of it all setting in the more she did. âFor the record though, since youâre being honest - then you should know I donât care much for your hatred. Iâd like you to stay even if that means I have to crawl over traps and fight off the minions you could send after me. It doesnât mean much to me, Iâve had quite a while to know how to look after myself. So if trying to hurt me gives you a reason to stay then do it. Having you here even with your intentions to wound is still better than you being dead and lost.â

âIâd beg to differ,â Marcel scoffed, arching a brow at the sudden change of attitude that he wasnât used to receiving from the brunette. Pursing his lips, he rubbed them together thoughtfully for a second before drawing a single step towards the younger vampire as his hands fell to his sides. âOkay, nothinâ wrong with that, A,â he assured her, raising his hands at torso-length in a surrendering gesture. Taking a few moments to himself to quickly study her expression, his eyes traveled all throughout her face as his hands remained held out in front of him. âAnd Iâm sure you mean well, but stickinâ your hand through my guyâs chest isnât cuttinâ it. Call it what you want but my guys have been droppinâ like flies.â The last of his words left his lips in a low murmur as he began to grow solemn at the reminder. Exhaling through his nostrils, âSo if thereâs somethinâ on your mind that you wanna talk about, speak now or forever hold your peace.â Cracking his neck side-to-side, âLosinâ your men left and right can damper a personâs mood, so youâre not alone.â
âHe pissed me off - I wasnât actually going to rip it out, I have a little more control than thatâ she muttered in a grumpy manner and gestured to his office. What she needed to tell him didnât concern the others here. âYeah maybe thatâs because theyâre being trained to think everyone will tip toe around them like we do.â Aria scoffed. Honestly, as long as her select people in the army were safe, she didnât give much care for anyone else. Most of them just annoyed her anyway, but that was no secret to anyone. âYou say that as if I have any peace on a normal dayâ she scoffed bitterly, moving to the sink and letting the water clean the blood off her hand. Aria turned to face him, glancing over at him she gave him a half sympathetic shrug as she sat down with a towel. âThings are starting to get shitty real quick arenât they?â she asked. Aria sighed quietly as she began to dry her hand with the towel. âI found the guy you asked me to track, everything was going smooth till Klaus strode in like some sort of superior asshole. Anyway long story short we got a name and he didnât live long enough for me to ask him anything else. Thatâs part of why Iâm a little crankyâ she grumbled, letting the silence linger for a short time. âI need your help.â Aria spoke in a quiet tone as she lifted her hand up for inspection. Really it was just to avoid having to look at him as her eyes prickled with tears. She hadnât cried in-front of Marcel since she was in her first year as a vampire. She didnât even cry when Thierry died, she just felt numb. âIs there a way you can get information on the Augustine society without raising any eyebrows? I want the records on a vampire thatâs recently escaped after fifty years of captivity... Because sheâs here, sheâs hostile and Iâm mostly certain that she wants to make my life a misery. I mean, you know I can handle a bitch with a grudge quite well but...â she paused, sucking in a breath in attempts to stop any tears falling down her face. âWhen that bitch is your sister... kinda complicates matters, yâknow?â she whispered, giving him a minute to let her words sink in.Â
The Hale Sistersâ Reunion
alyssa-hale   :
During her time captive by the wretched doctors, Alyssa had lost a part of herself that actually felt emotions because she needed to guard herself somehow in order to survive. At one point, she even thought about flipping the switch to make it easier for her, but that was a weak move. That, and she wasnât sure if she could bring herself back alone. Without the necessary help, she could have been stuck as an emotionless monster for all of eternity, and after the first decade, who knows if there would actually be any hope of redemption. When Aria pulled her into a hug, Alyssaâs hands remained by her side and she stood as still as a statue. Although she was her sister, Alyssa hadnât been touched by anyone other than the doctor himself to gouge out her eyes or remove an organ of his choice. âYes, I do blame you, but not for our deaths. Our parents are dead and Iâm undead because we saw the best in him, blinded by his wit and charms to think any better. Itâs our fault all that happened, not just you and him alone. I should have told you what he was, but he convinced me otherwise,â she explained calmly with a stone cold look. The wall that she had built slowly these past five decades was gargantuan and she could hardly even think about how she could climb it to feel like she did long ago, to be the girl she once was. âEven if you did apologize, you would be doing so for something you donât even know about. I donât blame you for my death, at all. I blame myself for what happened that night. And both of you, too,â she articulated, watching how Aria had went from cold and heartless to hurt and vulnerable. Alyssa even wanted to dare say that this was the first time in a very long time Aria had spoken about the events of that dark day. âIâm sure you would have, though itâs hard to imagine a quiet girl such as the girl you once were to ârain hell,â as you said,â she chuckled, a bit amused at how much Aria had changed. âWhy I didnât seek you out is actually the reason I blame you, so listen closely,â she said. âA week or so after I fed, some bastard hunted me down like a stray dog and then injected me with what I now know to be vervain. The next thing I know, Iâm locked up in a cage like a wild animal. For days, I was given a single cup of blood. After they deemed me to be weak enough to handle, I was dragged into an operating room. One by one, my organs were cut out for the first time. Afterwards, I went back to my cell to heal. The next morning, after drinking my cup of blood, it began all over again. Every day for the past fifty years, Iâve been dissected like a frog. Once a year, Doctor Whitmore even showed me off during his annual New Yearâs Party. All I wanted to do was rip everyoneâs hearts out, tear out their throats, pull our their organs like he did with me,â she explained, wincing at the thought of being experimented on. âSo, do you see now why I wish you had checked? Itâs not my death for which I blame you; rather, itâs what happened ever since then. I wanted to die, but I didnât even have the strength to end it. I had even thought about turning it all off, but I knew I wouldnât be able to come back.â A couple of days ago, Alyssa had learned a trick to see if she was dreaming or not because dreams such as these were recurring during her captivity. Rather than pulling a rubber band, she dug her fingernails into her wrist until she drew blood, feeling a tiny little pinch.
Running a hand through her hair, Aria remained silent for a while, just focusing on her own breathing as if it was going to calm her down. Witches, wolves, crazy ass vampires... Give her them over a hostile undead sister anyday. It wasnât that she would rather her be dead, that wasnât it at all. Seeing her alive made her feel a happiness that she hadnât known in a very long time, but seeing her stood there... Hearing all that hostility, it just wasnât how she wanted them to reunite. Aria had became the complete opposite of the girl Alyssa knew, but one thing that never changed was her love for her family. Thatâs why despite the mixture of hurt and happiness, Alysaâs comments were fueling a fire in her that she couldnât control. Hell, sheâd never even tried, for so long now Aria had welcomed the rage, invited the darkness... It was just better that way. âYou know what, sister? Fuck youâ she let out a laugh, giving a shrug of her shoulders. âI donât know what you were expecting out of showing up in-front of me like this but if you hadnât already figured, Iâm not the sister you remember. That being said, itâs fucking insulting for you to even suggest that I wouldnât have torn people apart if it meant getting you back, whether I was sweet and innocent or not, thereâs nothing I would not have done for you and you know it, so back the fuck up, Ali, âcos youâre steppinâ on my toes now and I donât take well to anyone who tries to drag me down. Iâll blame myself for what I think I deserve, but everything else? You can pass that on to someone else.â Aria crinkled her nose, clearly not controlling her anger as well as she had hoped. Still, better her sister catch a glimpse of who she was now rather than later..right? Upon hearing her sisters story, her shoulders relaxed a little in defeat. She didnât like to imagine what kind of hell Alyssa had been through for the past five decades and honestly, the guilt from uncovering that truth almost made her choke. â... Augustine?â she whispered without even meaning to. She hadnât seen it personally, but she knew about it and all its gory horror. Aria released a slow breath, trying not to picture the kind of pain her own blood had been in for so long. No wonder she was so hostile, she had damn good reason to be...But now wasnât the time for tears, quite clearly. The younger Hale was laying all her vengeful thoughts out on the table and right now, Aria had to treat her like she would any other person with a grudge. "Way to kill a reunion, sis. Not that Iâm unhappy to see you, I mean hey, Iâd take whatever fucked up angst this is over thinking youâre dead any day, but, what is it you want from me? I mean, you show up on my doorstep and what? How could you not expect me to crack after thinking I lost you so long ago? So yeah, fuck it, Iâve missed you. Iâve more than missed you, Iâm not going to hide that, and you can blame me for everything youâve been through, thatâs fine. If it helps then why not? But I didnât force you to drink blood, I didnât make you become a vampire, I wasnât the one who captured and tortured you for decades. I was the one who cut you down and cried over your dead body, I was the one who has missed you every day since that day and wondered if I could have done something to prevent it from happening. Like, had I just known what he was, I could have kept him away from you all. - So if youâve come here for a fight then hell you got one. You wanna hurt me? Try it. Seriously, if youâve came to lay it on me then what are you stood about pinching your skin for? Letâs go, letâs see how far thatâll get you.â Aria wiggled her fingers, having a hidden motive behind her words. Part of her hoped maybe, if she could get her sister to let out all that rage then maybe, just maybe -- they had a chance at sitting down like adults. Really, that was all Aria wanted - to be near Alyssa even if she was trying to kill her was better than not having her here at all. That being said though, she really didnât want to fight at all, hell, she didnât want to speak to her in the way she was, but she wasnât about to lay down like a dog either. This was the only way Aria could think of to get Alyssa to show her real intentions.Â
The Hale Sistersâ Reunion
alyssa-hale   :
The scent of her sisterâs blood triggered a deep hunger within Alyssa, but after living on a mere cup of blood for thousands of weeks, she obtained a perfected control over her hunger, which could make an appearance at the sight of any type of blood, whether it be blood of a vampire or mortal. Completely disregarding the blood that dripped off the other womanâs hand, Alyssa looked at Aria with an intense gaze. âPerhaps. I have no doubt that the witches in this city could cloak themselves with my appearance, but they could not pull it off to perfection. After all, they couldnât know what type of person I was â am,â she quickly corrected herself. Alyssa stood her ground and kept her balance as her sister lost both, and she could sense the pain and sadness her sister felt. However, both emotions were ones Alyssa could not feel in regards to the family that abandoned her and didnât even avenge her so-called death. Sure, she had to deal with the transition, but that didnât excuse her after she was accustomed to the life of a vampire. Unlike Alyssa, Aria was free to roam the Earth without being bound to any chains. âAnything is possible. We thought vampires were just a myth, but look at how that turned out. Now, what was that phrase,â she paused to think until she recalled the phrase she was looking for, âExpect the unexpected, dearest sister.â A tiny smile found its way onto her face when Aria realized that she was indeed her sister rather than a mere imposter; however, that smile vanished as quickly as it came. âThomas had told me about the world of the supernatural long before he murdered our parents. He gave me a veil of his blood and told me to wait until he told you and turned you. I assumed he had good intentions since you two were to get married, seemingly, but when he came to kill us, I drank his blood before he could find me,â she explained calmly. Another smile appeared on her countenance at the sound of her name coming out of Ariaâs face, and this smile stayed for a bit longer than the first. âIâm glad you finally believe me. Iâm telling you, witches always screw up somehow, somewhere. And with me? Iâm one of a kind, and no one can be a perfect copy of me.â Momentarily after that brief second of a time in which Alyssa felt no resentment toward her blood, the look on her face turned into a serious one. âI need to know though. Why didnât you check on the bodies? You shouldâve made sure we were all actually dead before assuming we were visited by the Grim Reaper himself. A lot could have been avoided if you hadnât made drastic assumptions,â she angerily told her, crossing her arms over her chest. Clearly, Alyssa blamed Aria for what the Augustine Society did to her even though she should have blamed her various captors.
Feeling the passing eyes in the street, Aria looked around briefly as she steadied her stance, trying to keep some sort of composure though it was proving near impossible to do so. âNo shitâ she blinked widely in response to this being unexpected. That was a major understatement. Her eyes shot up to meet Alyssaâs when her ex lovers name slipped so cooley from her lips. Barely registering what her sister was saying, she crumpled her nose and took a step towards her - too focused on making sure she was real to talk about anything else. Something was different about her. She seemed... cold, almost. But she knew better than most, time changes everyone. Aria wasnât the sister Alyssa remembered so to assume that she was the same one Aria remembered would be a fools thought. Nevertheless, the elder Hale couldnât stop herself from tugging the brunette into her arms, feeling like a weight had been lifted from her shoulders as she did so. Though, she didnât want to linger, just in case Alyssa pushed her away, so she stepped back and looked towards the ally way, gesturing for them to move there, out the way of all the prying eyes. As they walked, Aria processed Alyssaâs words, causing a frown to form on her face, one that only grew at her next comment. âCheck the bodies?â she choked, turning around to face her.  Aria lifted her hand, signaling she needed a moment. It wasnât easy for her to talk about, the only two people who knew about what happened that day was Marcel and Thierry. âWait a minute.. you knewâ she frowned. âYou knew what he was, how dangerous he could and did prove to be. Iâm not the only one here who let a vampire sit at our table, but youâre the one who did it knowingly, so donât you dare come at me with your hostility and anger, dearest sister. If weâre going to play the blame game then you need to take some responsibility too. Because thatâs right, isnât it? ...You blame me?â Aria curved her lips up into a cold smirk, though it wasnât one of amusement, just realization. A stray tear ran down her face as she released a breath. âSo what do you want, an apology? Will that make it all better? Will I be forgiven? Somehow I donât think so -â she stopped again,  closing her eyes to calm herself down. Anger, happiness and sadness was like a toxic mix, especially for someone like Aria. âYou used to my part of my whole world... And I came home to find that world hanging lifeless from the banister like three old rag-dolls. He didnât place you in your bed like some sort of sleeping beauty, I did. I wasnât to know you would wake up, do you think Iâd of burned the place if I did? I lost myself when I lost you, if you think for one second that I wouldnât have rained down hell to find you had I known you were alive then youâre mistakenâ she breathed out, swallowing the lump in her throat. The fact she was verging on tears was surprising enough, but she couldnât hold it together, though she was trying, it was proving way too much to keep up with. â... Itâs been decades. Iâve mourned you for decades. Forgive me if seeing you stood before me is just a little unbelievable. - Why didnât you come and find me?â Aria frowned. âDo you hate me that much?â
