Broken memories|| Ian + Nat
âNo. No, he wonât.â She agreed. She truly did love Colin. He was everything and more a girl could ask for. he was sweet, charming, caring, loving, sensitive, and put Natalie on a pedestal. He helped her with her business and on many occasions was there for moral support. She truly saw herself happy with him. However; at the end of the day- Killian was her first love and they say âyou donât easily forget your first love.â The memories Natalie and Killian shared was an experience people faced once in a lifetime if ever. Even through all the hard times, Natalie loved Killian and deep down she knew it too. She could put up this charade that she was over him but only a fool would deny that, yet it didnât stop Natalie from trying. He gave her the most precious gift you can receive in life, a child. On top of that, he saved her life and gave her immortality, which she had to admit certainly had itâs perks. Growing up the way she did, living through world hardships, it was nice to be able to live a lavish lifestyle. At the end of the day, Killian was right. She wouldnât have had those things if it werenât for him but she wouldnât admit that aloud. âYes, Killian. I understand.â She muttered. Both? She wondered to herself. âCareful there, Ian. If someone heard you speaking like that- theyâd mistake you for someone who cares about me⊠wouldnât want that now, would you?â She flashed him a challenging smirk before easing back against the couch further. âI know that. Why do you think iâm here⊠and by the looks of it- iâm going to have to think of something a little more⊠homey.â She said, waving her hand around the hotel room. âNow, dad. If itâs alright with you, I believe I need to go back home for the day. Gather up some things. Put someone in charge of workâŠtell Colin-â She quickly saw the vein pop up in his forehead, his arm clench slightly. A vision sheâd only seen back when they were more of a couple. Something about his protectiveness always being a turn on for her. âuh⊠just for a few hours⊠iâll be on a jet in and out.â
Killianâs brows knitted together momentarily from the comment she made. âI wouldnât let anything happen to you.â He said sincerely pausing in his statement with his eyes locked on hers. âYouâre the mother of my child, I wouldnât let her feel the pain of losing a parent.â He added in, which was part of the reason heâd never allow anything to happen to her. The other being what he denied to even himself. Looking around when she gestured to the hotel he smiled. âIâm sure youâll find something thatâll meet that acquired taste youâve picked up on with being a city girl.â When she mentioned leaving and her new beau he felt himself tense again, the smile he was wearing disappeared in an instance. With a shake of his head he stood up from the couch. âThatâs why youâve got people to boss around.â Walking over to the window he stared out taking in the view her room gave her. âLike I said, if sheâs here youâre here. Leaving isnât going to happen unless sheâs going with you. So figure out whatever you need to but youâll be figure it out from here.â It was natural for him to take control of situations, especially when it came to Lana and Natalie, at least it was before Lana went off on her own. Now, despite the fact that Natalie had done something with herself and it had been years since the two had actually laid eyes on each other, it was still a habit to take control. Old habits die hard and she was simultaneously the worst and best one. Turning around to look at her he shrugged his shoulders pulling a sarcastically innocent expression. âIâm sure Colin will understand. Or he wonât, itâs not really my problem.â
