I kind of go back and forth on my opinion of Simon calling Grace his "angel" (I like it as a nickname but religious symbolism scares me lol) HOWEVER. that being SAID.

Swap au Scientist! Simon calling Convict!Grace "angel" is soooooo important to me. It's soft, it's quiet, it's not anything grand or to be revered. It just is. Grace isn't even a savior in this- I mean he sort of is, if we're to believe that the black box actually helped. They don't know if his mission was in vain. But Simon still calls him "angel" with such fondness. And Grace has to admit that it helps remind him that he's safe now.

just to reiterate, this is NOT canon to the comic. or to either movie probably lol.

just love the idea that the reason simon didn't listen to the written stuff was because it sucked to read (and not, like, either defiance or a purposeful disregard for the sake of survival)

i feel like you can tell through how little i fuck with grace's glasses in the usual comic that i wear glasses IRL. if my glasses aren't perfectly aligned on my face i am SHOVING them back in place. ryan gosling obviously does not wear glasses regularly

The over masculinization of Mike wheeler and the over feminization of Will Byers just stems from the fact that a lot of people can’t stand that both are relatively gender-non conforming/androgynous in their own ways and these same people can’t stand their ship not having defined gender roles even when it’s queer but y’all aren’t ready for that conversation.
