But imagine you're draining the life force of someone because you love them that much, or rather they love YOU that much. Imagine you're so infatuated with someone that you'd let them kill you over and over and over again because it gives them pleasure

Imagine being so selfless that you give up the very thing keeping you alive so that your predator can have you inside of them, can taste your very essence, see the crimson river dribbling down your neck as a profession of love because what is love if anything but not disgusting and harmful and sad and pulsing and throbbing and beautiful and pure and bloody

They say Eve came from Adam's ribs, but was she broken off of him because Adam couldn't stand being alone, or was she physically manifested because Adam's love was worth more than having a piece of his insides ripped out as long as it meant this creation of pure love needed to know what it felt like to be loved

To drink for survival means that you have to consider your prey as only your prey and nothing else, not a conscious being with their own opinions and feelings, not a weaker version of you that you take pity on

I imagine that if I was a vampire, I'd die really quickly because my passion for being seen and known as someone rather than a predator just sinking its teeth to wake up the next day, would overrule my need to drink.

I also imagine I'd die really quickly if I was a human because my compassion for a beast whose only way of life is to harm and draw blood would make me wish I was the vampire instead so they don't have to live with the guilt of getting a taste of what it's like to drain the life of a beating heart that now lays limp without anyone having ever said the words "I love you"

I was the same age as Yui (16 yrs old) when Diabolik Lovers first came out in 2012... Now I'm 26... It's been 10 years, and the boys supposedly haven't aged... But I still see them as "mature" and as dreamy as I did when I was 16... I don't know what is about it exactly, but my heart just won't age in this fandom... only my mind... and no matter how much I evolve and grow, and how many times I think I finally had enough of Diabolik Lovers, I end up returning after a few years... I just... It's a part of my existence now... No matter what changes come to my life, Diabolik Lovers is the one thing that doesn't die for me... I always seem to find my way back here... ♥️
