You want to know the nature of my relationship with him
Call me
Vivian was happily walking with him. “I’m glad we can hang out with you.”
“Would it be rude of me to ask why?” It was blunt, but he didn’t care, right now that was the one thing that was nagging at him. What on earth was her motive? Not knowing this was setting him on edge and making nervous as hell.
Brows furrowed together momentarily, a short lived reaction before shrugging her shoulders. The differences between lifestyles were vast and interesting , travellers and those who remained in a location for their entire life –– never moving , never changing. It almost seemed boresome for the teenager who spent all her prior years hopping from city to city to commit solely to a single city. “ Whole life uh ? –– boring. You ever travel ? get out and see the world ? … “ Curious now , one brow raising as fingers slid into her pockets. “ Work ? …. a little late for work. “
“No, I have not.” It was a short and simple answer. He had never had the time or money to travel, and though it did bother him now and then as he did want to see what was outside this city, he mostly just pushed it all aside. “And no, not when you work for the GCPD”
Like for a thread
Glenn looked around and then gritted his teeth as he dipped down swimming towards the jars. He opened his eyes instantly feeling the salt water feeling the sting. He couldn’t really see but he started grabbing keys. He wasn’t going to mess around by jumping in and out of the water. His wounds were stinging enough and he just wanted to get the hell out of here. After grabbing the keys he swam to the surface putting the keys on the side as he pulled himself up so he could try them in the door.
After he got to the right key he opened the door seeing the strings. He tried to safely navigate through the strings but he hit one he couldn’t see and felt a sharp pain in his side. He looked to see a crossbow bolt sticking out of his side. He cried out in pain as he tried to keep going, seeing the door open. He hit a few more wires got a bullet in his shoulder but he was able to dodge the other things shot at him. As he got to the door he fell through and just laid there. Maybe if he just laid here he wouldn’t have to suffer anymore, he could just drift off into sleep and never wake up.
The grin that had been on Nygma’s face the whole time slowly disappeared as he watched the other navigate through the last room. No, no no no. He wasn’t supposed to survive that one! He had designed it to be close to impossible to navigate through, and survive. Cursing under his breath he left the control room, he had to hurry before the captive solved the last riddle.
In the room he was in now, there was nothing but a light, and one last door. Next to the door was several buttons, over 20 of them, all with various symbols. The right combination to open the door was the four neonlight figures that had been on the walls in the previous rooms. Umbrella, cat, fire and hat.
He listened to Nygma, as any well trained psychologist would, and he nodded at all the right moments. He rubbed his chin then and hummed slightly. “Few people can answer them…so, you hold the power, the answer , shall I say..and you gain satisfaction from that position, am I right? hmm, interesting…” he simply smiled to himself, looking back at the case files. He took a moment to pour over them, proof reading here and there. “So, Edward, what do you think of the serial murders happening around this city recently..?” he leaned back against the taqble, facing Ed, and crossing his arms over his chest. “A murder mystery is just that…a riddle…an enigma..am I right to say you’ve already looked at these files? Or at least been listening to any information you can gather from working here? After all…a very smart man, could figure it out..” he raised an eyebrow, almost daring Nygma to take the bait.
He kept his jaw clenched shut for a moment. Anger rushing through his mind as he started to fully realize just how intelligent the man in front of him was. This was a dangerous game, very dangerous, but his arrogance didn’t allow him to realize just how bad the situation was for him. Up until now he had been convinced that there was no one smarter than himself, and he still believed that, but the thought that someone might come anywhere close to his brainpower was frustrating, infuriating. No, of course this man isn’t smart enough to notice anything, it was impossible.
Plastering a fake smile on his face he decided to answer as the narcissist hiding deep within was blinding him. “In a way, yes these are all just riddles that has to be solved, where the answer is the name of the murderer. That is why I work here, to solve these riddles,” he figured the smartest thing to do was to place himself in a good light, make himself seem like one of the good guys. If only Penguin had been here, he had more experience dealing with these things. “Nothing goes past me unnoticed, and yes, I will admit that I do listen to what the officers say since at times they hold information that might be helpful to me when I’m trying to help solve these riddles.” The smile turned just a bit more stiff. “Of course. A smart man can solve them, and that is why they are being solved, but a smart man can do little when he is surrounded by less intelligent individuals.”
