Han. What can I even say. You are my best friend. You've been there for the exhilarating highs & the devastating lows these past five years. You hopped on this ship with me when I was barely myself - when I was still figuring things out, when I was reckless & all over the place. You've always seen the best in me. We've survived the worst of it together: the darkest times of eachother's lives, a Honeymooners marathon against our will, New Years in the suburbs of Long Island, & dorm life. Enough said. But also, the best of times: college graduation, our first ~adult~ jobs, living together in Lynchburg, wedding dates, shameless St. Patrick's days, & so much more. In two days I start working in New York City as a social worker on the Upper East Side. Women In Need is an agency working towards ending homelessness in New York City, specifically women and families impacted by homelessness. 70% of homeless New Yorkers are families with children, most led by women. Many of these families are in this predicament due to fleeing domestic violence. WIN is the largest provider of shelter and supportive housing for families in the city. I have wanted to work in New York City since I was a little girl. And since I was 19 years old, I've wanted to be a social worker. Day 1 of Arizona was: • horseback riding in the Superstition Mountains • lunch & swimming in Canyon Lake • visiting an old mining town • going to my mom's favorite restaurant when she was last here 38 years ago • watching the sun set over the mountains from a hot tub • -- For day 2, on to Sedona!!!
