After commenting with my brother about Claudio's bio in Tekken 8, (my bro always has funny opinions about tekken lore because, despite the fact he plays the game and has seen all the cinematics and story modes, he is not really a fan of the franchise so he is unattached to the characters and his opinions are raw), he noticed how half the bio is devoted to describe how heartbroken Claudio was about the way his "partnership" with Heihachi ended. How he caused him "despair". My bro said the bio sounded overly dramatic and too emotionally charged because all Heihachi did was hiring him for a job, giving him a free air plane ride, making him his honor guest at his private quarters, making him feel welcome and well treated, (his treatment of Claudio was very good there which is a lot considering Heihachi has been nothing but cruel to everyone, including his family) then when things turned dangerous with Kazuya, Claudio was taken back home to be safe. Then, Heihachi and Claudio seemed to keep in touch through the internet, (texting or emailing each other constantly? lol) and then in a final videochat Claudio says to him "I did everything you wanted. I cannot do anything else", to which Heihachi basically responds "Well, true, you are not needed anymore". My bro says it is weird how Claudio reacts so emotionally to it, he replies "You monster!", visibly heartbroken. My bro cannot understand why. I told him "Well, he was hired to be part of the action right? probably he expected to fight Kazuya and perform an exorcism on him, that's what he does for a living, that's his job. But he was fired instead".) But my bro said: "Well, Claudio agreed to take that plane to be back home. He himself admitted he couldn't help anymore. He was content obeying Heihachi's orders. But then once Heihachi told him "It's over between us", he freaked out. What else was he expecting from 'their partnership'?. Heihachi decided he would risk his life alone, facing Kazuya and fighting him alone. Apparently, he had planed to use Claudio's healing/cleansing powers to debilitate Kazuya's devil gene so he could kill Kazuya easily. Maybe even use him as a human shield. But then he changed his mind and sent Claudio home, basically saving his life in the process. Kazuya would have destroyed Claudio, no doubt. Due to this decision, Heihachi lost his life, but Claudio is stil alive. Why is Claudio so butthurt?" I told my bro Heihachi dismissed him in a very humiliating way "I used you enough, you're not useful anymore to me. I made you a fool". My bro said "Claudio was not useful at all to Heihachi. He did nothing except maybe say once 'I heard vague gossips about an ugly nonhuman being in the far east, maybe it is Devil Jin, maybe not, who knows". and that's it. That intel had already been gathered by Heihachi's employees themselves so they didn't even need Claudio's help there. If anything he only generated food, accomodations and travel expenses during his holiday at Heihachi's place, which I am sure the old man had to pay out of his pockets. But strangely, Heihachi didn't appear frustrated with Claudio's uselessness. He seemed very entertained by him, as to keep in touch through texts, emails and videochat… long after he sent him back home. He seemed to enjoy the Mr. Burns - Smithers dynamic that formed between them. Although, even Smithers works hard to please Mr. Burns. Claudio did absolutely nothing to gain his privileged seat next to Heihachi's throne, except maybe being pretty and entertaining . Unless Bamco is not telling us the whole story and more stuff happened between them that they won't tell us. Because, Claudio's reactions and emotional meltdown remind me of a DISCARDED LOVER.
