valentina knew she was being harsh. but if she’d pat the girl on her head and tell her it was just going to be fine, when she wasn’t even sure if it was going to - it wouldn’t do her any good either. valentina had learned things the hard way. the harder, the better - she had always thought. people couldn’t break her anymore like she used to. she wasn’t going to let anyone. “ trust me, i won’t. nobody got time for that shit. — they just want money. you really think i haven’t tried this before ? like - you really think they’re gonna believe you and put you somewhere else ? i’ve tried this long enough and came to the conclusion i was just wasting my whole life on trying to prove how bad they were. they don’t give a fuck, ” valentina said as she moved both her arms around each other. “ i’ll be gone here soon anyway, ” she said as she looked down the girl. realizing that she was just becoming like her mother. she saw how hurt the girl was, but decided to tell her she was going to move out soon anyway. this wasn’t going to help her at all. but she couldn’t help it, this was just how valentina was.
“can’t i like set them up or something?” ariel knew that others had run away before, why the services hadn’t questioned that was beyond her. “make them look really, really bad in a different way instead of telling the truth about them? it’s worth a shot, right?” she knew that it sounded ridiculous and wouldn’t benefit her at all if her social worker found out that she was trying to ‘sabotage’ the PERFECT family. it made ariel upset for the other to dismiss her, to act like she didn’t care about her by saying that she was moving. the girl felt stuck and she hated it. relatively independent, the redhead just needed an ounce of affection but she wasn’t going to get that from anyone, evidently... “are you for real? making me feel shittier about this and acting like it’s nothing? wow. you know what, i can’t wait for you to leave. at least there’ll be more space.”
