Kusukazu Uraguchi: Shima no Ama (1981)

"Ama" refers to traditional female divers in Japan. They dive into the sea and use specialized techniques to harvest seafood. Clad in traditional white attire, they venture into the ocean using wooden boats or floats. While underwater, they gather fish and shellfish, and their work has a rich history and cultural significance. Ama's occupation is demanding, as they make a living from the sea while embracing the beauty of the underwater world.
