improvement (6/15/19 - 8/15/20) and a thank you message
I donāt post here often, but I want to get my message out there - THANK YOU. To everyone who likes my art, who reblogs my art, who follows me and likes my art every time - thank you.
I would have never gotten this far if it werenāt for you guys. I donāt get a ton of likes on here, but I know some of you do like me elsewhere, whether thatād be Discord, Insta, or just plain olā Deviantart.
Below you will see the story behind one of my popular old arts versus one I created today and was super proud of.
This is one of the first drawings I made digitally when I first started taking digital art seriously. I didnāt know how to shade, I never wouldāve thought that Google would help me, and the program? I believe it was Krita, which I still occasionally use.
I also didnāt know how to properly use the tools, the layer modes, or the layers themselves. This picture had maybe three layers.
Overall, this picture took me around an hour to make and it doesnāt look the best at ALL.
This is my most latest drawing. Shading is something I am superb at, I use Google ALL the time for tips, tricks, and tutorials, and the program is Paint Tool SAI 2.
I have so many custom brushes that I use to make my drawings pop. This picture has almost 40 layers.
Overall, this picture took me 3-4 hours to make, and I gotta say... Looks pretty damn good to me
I just wanted to make this post, not to flex my improvement or anything, but to those artists on here, who were stuck like I was: Improvement happens. It could happen fast, like with me, or slow. But either way, if you practice, and draw a lot, mess around with custom brushes, shading styles, and layer modes, youāll get there.Ā
Improvement happens at different speeds for everyone, so donāt be down on yourself if you practice often and donāt get very far. Try out new programs! Try out different tools and brushes! Hell, I bought some brushes recently for my art program and they work great.
(Also, if youāre wondering,Ā āWho is this character that you draw so much?ā Itās my AU Flippy. Itās a Skyrim/HTF mashup that I made before I started drawing. So any HTF accounts out there that reblog HTF fanarts, just know that this is HTF, just a different AU. I promise thereās more art coming for the other canon characters, not just Dragonborn Flippy!)
