I am slowly adding more aromantic headcanons to my fic series. today I have acquired aroallo Roxas. he shall fit nicely with my aroace Ven, bellusromantic Kairi, and sapphic ace Naminé. truly a fabulous collection.

kh is so crazy cuz it’s like. ok let’s try making a disney anime crossover game that’s about friendship and hope. ok they’re letting us make a game two so we’ll get a little interesting but still ultimately fun and do a plot about memories and mistaken identity! cool. ok we’ve got an airtight fanbase for sure now let’s do something about existential dread and have this innocent boy beg and fight desperately for his life and to be recognized as human only to be quashed in the end along with all the other ‘people who aren’t really people’ the disney kids will love this

KH Aro Week!

This is a week long even celebrating aromantic KH fanworks! Any type of fanwork is welcome, as with any aromantic/arospec identity. You don't have to be aro/arospec to participate!

The dates will be Aug 23- Aug 29. The poll was pretty split between August and September, so I just split the difference and made it near the end of August. I know this is around the time school starts for many people, so I'm sorry if this is not an optimal time for you. You can totally post your works after the event ends. (tbh you can post anything aro kh at any time and I will happily reblog it)

Feel free to combine/skip/post out of order for any of the prompts. They're just suggestions, and I tried to go for a mix of aro-specific and KH-specific.

No bashing other headcanons

Ships/romance favorability is welcome but the focus must be on aromanticism in some form

Works depicting sexual attraction are allowed and should be tagged for warnings

I will not be reblogging incest, underage sex, or adult/minor ships. (this is still my personal blog, share whatever you want on your own blog)

kingdom hearts to me is a game for the aromantics. "i'm nothing without my friends." the relationship between sora and his best friend riku being stronger & more developed than the relationship between sora & presumed love interest kairi. every game having a set of characters where no one is a lover and everyone is just really really good friends. there is only one way to interpret this & its aro as fuck.

to me saix is like a verbally abusive mother with unobtainable standards who makes sure you know you don’t meet them whenever you come home. he makes sure his kids are vaccinated but also wants them to pay rent once they turn 18. axel is like an overly involved mom who calls herself her kids best friend. “the fun parent.” he has been feeding the family take out for the past 25 days and gets upset when his kids suggest moving out for college. definitely not as bad as saix but he loses his luster once you get older. they’re meant to be weird uncles or older cousins at MOST and shouldn’t be someone’s sole guardians or else it’ll end up like this. this house is a prison

i don't think we talk enough about roxas going to destiny islands. that's crazy. he almost certainly did not actually receive a mission for this, but we do know for a fact that he went, because a) roxas's memories get caught up in the snarl that xion is experiencing

and b) riku witnesses him leaving

for that matter, we don't talk enough about RIKU going to destiny islands.....but let's focus on roxas for now.

at this point, it's been three weeks since xion ran away, and also been three weeks of axel avoiding roxas. he's lonely and confused and anxious and probably a little angry. he's stopped writing in his diary. i can imagine him dissociating through his days as missions blur together. none of it matters, but going through the motions is all he has.

he doesn't consciously make the decision to go to the beach. he just sort of finds himself there, wishing things were different. truthfully, he's not even sure how he found it. he's never been here, and yet it all seems so familiar, the salt in the air, the way his boots sink into the sand.

what does he feel while listening to the waves? does it sound like home? or is it just unnerving, like the flashes of memory he gets during missions? the feeling of being outside his own body, like his reality isn't his to command.

when he leaves, he isn't sure he ever wants to go back.
