I, Leaper of Time

So Equivalent Exchange was too much of a romantic idea to blindly follow; this was a dose of truth Dante refused to swallow since the moment she averted her eyes from the dying people inside jails - no, human sacrifices - to focus on the long, forlorn figure at the center, slowly spreading his arms… Hohenheim of Light. The man who gave her freedom. How could be so bad to take others lives in the name of knowledge? Their lives weren’t worth it anyway. Why does she even care? Nobody mourned them, to question this fact was as pointless as praying to a god. It’s fair enough!, a voice in her mind screamed, perhaps in a futile way to obliterate her presence. In a sudden she found herself struggling to follow the other’s speech, or what it seemed to her a pointless monologue over nothing. Is this snotty lady aware this isn’t the church? The more she felt the obligation to listen, the further her mind began to wander, this time around the beauty of the ceiling… unwilling to care if the woman noticed. Monologues! Just monologues! And yet, much to her dismay, the younger one somehow heard it all. Not the facts, the wind always takes care of that trash. It’s the manner she felt that silver tongue ripping, exposing the corpses behind her bed; it burned, it burned so much… As if it wasn’t enough, she even dropped her name, as referring to… an old friend? Or a foe?
”How do you know my name? Or more important, . what are you?” A foe. She inmediately loathed this woman.
“What am I...?”
That was a pretty word. ‘What.” Not who, what.
What was she, exactly? That was something she had asked herself many times. She was no human: she had long since evolved beyond that. So, what did that leave her...?
I am Dante.
“I am the Shepard. The guardian of sins,” she finally responded, a chuckle escaping. I am everything that has ever been worthwhile in history, and I am the one who decides the fate of everything around her. But I’m not God, I suppose.
"The demon of knowledge that comes when you call her name. The accumulation of a century’s worth of sins, and enlightenment. The student who has learned all there is to learn, and can find nobody worthwhile to teach. I am the woman who has surpassed God Himself. Even better then that: the woman who surpasses Hoenheim of Light.”
She made her way closer, and closer still.
“I am you, and you are me. A mirror reflection: when you raise your left hand, I appear to raise my right. I am everything you will one day become, and deep down, I’m sure you know it to be true.”
“So take a good, long look at your future, and burn it into your memory.”
