"I’m not some helpless chick, you know. I’m a very powerful mutant.”  That may be a slight exaggeration. Jennifer is fine, but she’s not exactly packing heat. “I hate wondering.”

"Look, it’s your own fault that you decided to be some cheesy pirate.” Her nose scrunches up. “So tacky.”

"Why? You gonna shoot me or something? You don’t look like the type to shoot an innocent girl in the back.”

“to be honest, i kinda take offense to that,” he jokes, but the amusement quickly falls away from his expression. scott may be scott, but he’s still warren’s teammate.

“I would one hundred percent take offense to being compared to Scott Summers. What a tool.”

“See, you really could do better. I believe in you.” A hand briefly pauses over her heart. “Although, there’s nothing wrong with attacking someone on their appearances or something else arbitrary.” Hadn’t she gotten kicked out of the bar ( and nearly punched ) for making fun of Feral for being a little furry? In Jennifer’s defense, the litter box joke had been pretty good.

“Too late for that.” Valentina declared as she took a sip of her wine and just shook her head at the mutant, not having much else to say. She was exhausted at this point, and furious. “My entire team save for my formerly-brainwashed HYDRA soldier have been kidnapped by S.H.I.E.L.D. I don’t really have much left to lose. Nice try, though.”

Why was she telling her this? Jennifer’s messy, of course. She loves gossip and information. She could have said fuck off without going into detail at all. “Sounds like your team isn’t very good if they all got caught.” Then again, they caught Jean Grey and Hope Summers. Destiny, too. S.H.I.E.L.D. clearly had something going on if they could snag people like them. “If you’ve got nothing left to lose, does that mean you don’t have a team anymore?”

“Felicia?” Jennifer doesn’t know any Felicia’s and she’s surprised Julian does. The mutant weighs a probability alteration disc in one hand. “Try and be more creative with your insults, hm?”

“I don’t think I really started with much luck to begin with.” Ever since he returned from the Snap it seemed like things were just continuing downhill, really. Christine getting married, Wanda trying to kill him, Clea, the list went on.

“That almost sounds like a challenge.” She points a finger. “But, you seem...depressed. Depressed people aren’t fun to screw with.”

“Bien, you done now?” Jake questioned impatiently, his finger still lingering around the trigger as he aimed his pistol down towards the concrete instead. “If you don’t mind, I’m kinda in the middle of something. And eres afortunada, you’re not my target.”

The gun doesn’t scare Jennifer. If anything, she’s incredibly blasé about it. “I was just getting started, actually.” Power blooms at her fingertips. “Who is your target?”
