BODY
The BODY is knit Stockinette stitch (knit every row) and worked from bottom to top (tail to head).
CO 6st. blue, join in round [6st.]
You can divide the stitches amongst 3 double-pointed needles. Make sure to mark the begging of you row (you can use a knitting marker or in lieu twist-ties work, as well as safety pins).

The following rounds include a checker pattern of alternating white and blue stitches that make up Dratini's scaly belly. The bottom 3rows and top 3rows of the pattern pick up the white at different stitches to create a taper and give the checkered-belly a rounded curve:

Here is where the decreases begin to close off Dratini's head. Now would be a good time to sew on the eyes, SNOUT, EARS, and HORN while you have access to the inside. You should also sew in any loose white strands and then start stuffing the toy. For the eyes, stack the white button atop the black and sew as one.

Pull the needle through the center at the top and pull snug (just enough to close the gap, but careful not to pucker it) and sew into the fabric of the BODY.

The SNOUT is knit in stockinette and then flipped inside out at the end. A kitchener stitch creates a seamless joint atop the fabric. The SNOUT is knit from the base to the tip.
Round 1: knit 2rows Round 2: K2rows Round 3: (k1, kfb, k3, kfb, k6, kfb, k3, kfb, k1) X3 [54st.] Round 4: knit 4 rows Round 5: (ssk k14 k2tog ssk k6 k2tog) X2 Round 6: (k5 ssk k2 k2tog k5 k7) X2 Round 7: knit 1 row Round 8: Divide stitches evenly among two needles and graft sides together using kitchener stitch** with the tapestry needle. Leave a long tail to sew onto BODY.
Flip the SNOUT inside out so that the reverse-stockinette (wavy-dash side) is on the outside. When sewing into the BODY, make sure to sew into bottom-most stitches of the SNOUT so that it pops out nicely where it attaches-- also really stuff it with fiberfill as you sew it on.

The EARS are knit flat, in garter stitch. The shape is irregular so each row is different, following the pattern below:

This next part is a bit tricky, but basically you are binding off the first two stitches. So k2 and then pull the first stitch over the second, then k2tog, and pull the already knit stitch over the one created by k2tog.
